If Thursday's had been approved, why change it? Sheffield and Ipswich should have had two choices if they wanted Thursdays. Ride top league or ride Thursday's but top league sides get priority on riders. Ipswich, in particular, seem to have been holding the top flight to ransom for years. I'm just fed up with speedway seeing the best way forward being to make the good clubs as crap as the poor ones.

Surely you mean 'HAVE' not 'OF'?

So deserving of a place in the 'losers' category is an ex-rider who got sold a 'duff ticket' Is that really the best you can come up with given all that happened last season? What next, someone who ate a dodgy burger and got a dose of the runs ?

Those were great times when International speedway teams were touring Australia One of the most amazing tours ever was in 1990-91 the visit of the USSR national speedway team. They rode mostly against Australian State sides, and with great success. Here You can find all the results of this tour http://www.internationalspeedway.co.uk/ausvsu.htm After their first seven matches in Queensland and the Northern Territory the Russians were still undefeated with six wins and a draw, when tehy came to face New South Wales at the Newcastle Motodrome. This meeting is on YouTube and You may follow the link below to watch all the action (60 minutes) of this 15 Heat International Challenge. Next year, we'll hear of the "losers" who got their Speedway Star late over Christmas!

Don't think he has any desire to ride for worky, it would benefit all if a transfer fee could be agreed, instead of arsing around with loan fees and sever all ties so to speak

They should have scrapped doubling up and used Young British talent ,let these money grabbing riders solve their own problems. Its still a mess IMO .

A long time ,I phoned SS on wed got last weeks copy resent, got it on Thursday, then later in the day got the original last weeks copy .Proof its Royal Mail who cause all the problems regarding delivery IMO .Great service from Pinegen when contacted.

Bloody hell the winners and losers in the star is all light hearted, why do some appear to take it so seriously? Hence some appearing in both categories.

Interestingly my view on the Plymouth forum was similar and I got shot down by pretty much everyone on there for suggesting the team was pretty disappointing. As a Devils fan it's great that speedway continues in the City and ensuring that going forward is paramount so building to a budget is simply a must. If you look at that side I can only see Bradley and Henry improving their averages. Adam will win races everywhere but outside that I think Plymouth look vulnerable. Away from home we'll get some tonkings. Looking at the teams being put together so far I can see it being two leagues in one; IOW, Plymouth, Buxton and Stoke look like being the bottom four with the rest looking much stronger (on paper). This is of course before Belle Vue and Coventry show their hands but I'd expect both to be competitive. As ever, time will tell.

Not entirely sure pairing Charles and Holder together is going to be a great idea and may end up getting in each others way more than anything. I'd be tempted to swap Jack with Richard and have Richard at 4 and Jack at 5 - especially for home matches.

Say what you want about Colin Pratt i for one have great respect for the man like Eric Boocock he tells you how it is.

Glad to hear John is still remembered-he was in the first meeting I ever saw in June 1964 riding at Newport for Long Eaton-anyone know when and why he emigrated to Oz(maybe some of the same reasons why I emigrated to Canada)!!

Probably because the modern engines rev so high, with peak power high up in the rev range. When these modern bikes hit a bit of of extra grip,it kills off the revs a bit and the bike grips hard and takes off. So in general the tracks have less shale than they use to to make these modern bikes easier to control, less grip in general = slower times,up to a point. However as we saw in the Lynn v Poole meeting on "that" night if a rider attacks a grippy track, the race times are faster than on a slick track.. A lot of riders want a smooth consistant ride over a 'tighten their bum cheek ride' on a really grippy track these days.

Would make sense for Poole Somerset and Swindon to work together. A few floating fans do all 3

Because the whole average situation this year is farcical and the people who run the sport in the UK are unable to distinguish between their bumholes and their earholes?

Why would you lie directly to there faces!!!

It will be a bonus for Comets fans watching youngsters like Bewley and Bickley making their way in the sport. Not enough young riders in Championship these days.IMO.

Pleased for Comets and their fans. Looking like a decent team.

If it forces them to sort the shambles out its very helpful

This seems to be a convenient bandwagon for people to jump on but as somebody who attends Lynn meetings reasonably regularly I've never seen any evidence of this on a race night, i.e. no strutting around the pits or big ego etc. People will probably point out his mother or the argument he had with a fan during the Poole meeting both of which don't do him much good but I think people go over the top with their criticism and it's almost like people would rather give him a kicking than give him the benefit of the doubt because he is British and has talent. As a teenage sportsman he's not going to get everything right and learns as he goes along but he's not half as bad as people like to make out. You want him to have self belief but there is a fine line between that an arrogance. Generally speaking I think he stays on the right side of that.

infantile behaviour, proved wrong and then 'it was just a joke' . Pathetic actually

Exactly! Doubling up should be for Brits only.
