Well done to the 3 scoring Comets. Really pleased Nicoai seems to have upped his game after previous poor performances. It's just a shame Rene hasn't done the same. He seems to be a shadow of the rider he once was. I have followed Workington since the seventies but I just can't get enthused about this season. The lack of home fixtures probably isn't helping but then things like turning up at Glasgow with a second halfer is pathetic. I'm not saying we didn't try to find a guest but whatever the reasons it is shambolic. How many fans would turn up for a Man U match if they turned out with players from Workington Reds. I used to move heaven and earth to make sure I didn't miss a home meeting but now it's getting to the point where I only go if I'm not doing anything else. I don't know what the answers are but speedway is killing itself and it's a real shame.

A record 150,00 people attended Coventry Motofest over the weekend of June 2nd/3rd. The organisers provided an excellent position for the SCS&S campaign group stand and we were exposed to thousands of visitors that we would not normally expect to see. We had so many positive conversations with people and everyone we spoke to wanted to see motorsports back at Brandon ASAP! http://savecoventryspeedway.com/news.php?extend.158

Glasgow fans asked us if we would like Sarj back to which TaylorJ and i both politely declined... we did however thank them for our fab reserve they were oh so cocky about offloading to us once upon a time.... oh hows things change... one even said hindsight is a funny thing.... ;)

Hope it is just a simple collarbone - although that would be a bit boring for Kyle! He doesnt usually do straightforward injuries! All the best fella - be back soon

Your post didn't say about the winner of the race, it mentioned the team that finish first. The team that finished first was Russia as there was still a GB rider who hadn't finished when Russia had all crossed the line. The winner of the race was Tai. The team that finished first was Russia. Not the same thing.

The news last night was a suspected broken collar bone but he was taken for X-rays . From what I heard it sounds like it’s broken though.Tyrpical type of injury when a rider gets high sided in that way. He was desperately unlucky for this to come at a time he was really coming into form . He ride from last to second to join Adam for a 5-1 in his previous ride was superb. I didn’t think Berwick were a bad side, they just couldn’t find consistency in their gating. NBJ impressed me. This is the best Lakeside team for years, not just on the track, but off track they seem to all get on well, and this translates to the way they ride together. A lot of team riding and looking out for each other last night.

Surely a sportsperson VISA for a one off event (uk sports event visa) has a totally different set of criteria to a work permit/working VISA. Not sure why people assume not being eligible for the latter would preclude eligibility for the former.

Well 50-40 with 3 man team considering Rene scored 3 ...a mediocre Glasgow crowd tonight as we were there for the taking , but we leave home happy , no disgrace in fact if I were a Glasgow fan I would be more pee’d off , if we had Ty and Dan tonight we would have had you so enjoy your 3 points , you be lucky to make top 4 this season !!

Remarkable to get 40 points really with that team, clearly would have won with proctor and Bewley, and a point with any sort of half decent guest, klindt was magnifico

I'm a scunny man Peterborough deserved the win no doubt ,but this has been coming for about a month when your racing with a 4 man team and 2 guests plus r/r. .Our choice of guests were limited and didnt score well ,the track was poor very slick when we have good racers in the team and one last point to all the so called Panthers fans not one of them will have been on a speedway and we're slagging there reserves off all week and asking them to be replaced so especially Tom Bacon well done tonight and hopefully you go on and have a great season you was outstanding tonight young man and clearly the big difference between the sides so back your own riders also Tofty was different gravy as well .

Or perhaps a bigger group? Barely into double figures? I bet Poland had 30 there. I should think that riders need a minimum of four "backroom staff" each.

Sorry to bang on about Matej Kus but at 3.80 he is a bargain last night he beat Ricky Wells twice at Wells home track. His low average wont be for long

Tell you what, they should just make it 3 for first, and no other points! GB would have won that way, and the strategy in the final would have been justified! Steve

I'm waiting for words of wisdom along the lines of "If the scoring system had been 4,3,2,0 we'd have approached the final differently"

As I’ve said before I’ve been crucified on social media from some quarters and that’s fine I’m not bothered by it but the bit that grates is I may be in the wrong and my thoughts my not be a way forward but nobody is doing anything, we are plodding on piddling about with rule adjustments, nobody is getting hold of the sport, so if your going to say I’m wrong then at least offer some alternative , the sport needs structure and strict machine and finance control

Course you do, because you clearly haven't got a scoobies. In actual fact, Tai going for win was utterly and completely the wrong thing to do for more reasons than team riding. Tai winning the race was irrelevant as we have seen.. We have some trying to claim it's impossible or dangerous to slow and help a team mate, even though Tai had already done it in the event and its been done countless times in the past... so we'll eliminate that option for the sake of this argument.. As such we have Tai in a safe 2nd place.. and we need Lambert to pass Emil... So please tell me how it benefited us in the slightest Tai taking risks to go for the win? Just imagine had he come together with Laguta, been excluded, fell off in a brave attempt to pass just as Lambert happened to get by Emil.. or Emil suffered an ef. What a calamity that would have been! So in summary... Tai going for the win was never ever the 'right' tactic. If you're not going to team ride, you take the safe 2nd place and hope Lambert gets into 3rd.

I don't have a problem with the plan being "win the race" as before the tapes go up then if you have one rider finishing first your chances if getting an advantage increase dramatically. However, surely they should have agreed tactics based on various different scenarios? This should have been done in these meetings they looked to be having before Belle Vue, but even if not we had enough time between our final qualifying heat and the final to get that nailed down. "What do we do if we gate on a 5-1?", "What do we do if we gate on a 3-3 with Robert in front?", " What if we gate on a 1-5?". I find it incredibly hard to believe that if they did have that conversation that the answer to the last one would be, "Get to the front Tai and do what you can Rob", and if it was, it was wrong.

I really do hope Buxton continue. Played a huge part in the progress of many riders. Cookie the wright brothers and many many more. I think teams like Eastbourne Birmingham Cradley have driven up pay rates to get the best riders and this is crucifying teams like iow Buxton and kings Lynn young stars are no more due to riders wanting more than the sport can pay.

I will simplify it, I pay to be entertained, I like Berwick to win, it is not important to me if we don't, yes i would be a tad disappointed but a close tight meeting is more important. Last season after we signed Morris on a much better prepared track really did entertain me, and thought if this carries on, great. Apart from the the odd meeting Glasgow in particular and I did concede last Saturday was better, although very strung out at times, this season has drifted away from entertainment. I will admit my ideal meeting is 46---44, the meeting against Sheffield is a prime example, I dont think we were good they were awful. To be fair there are similar complaints from other tracks, so it may well be the way the sport is run is the problem, and not the individual team, Berwick does however seem to create some of the problems itself. Like any business you have to please your customers if you dont please them they no longer become your customers, and at the end of the day it is the customer paying at the gate that pays the riders wages.
