King's Lynn ARE the reason all this has kicked off. Poole had Ellis and Morris booked as guests for Kurtz. King's Lynn booking Ellis for Monday, although not against the rule, made the sport look a total embarrassment by swapping guests for each leg. If everyone was totally honest with themselves, King's Lynn should have been made to find an alternative guest. Poole should have kept Morris and Ellis. There are other alternatives out there and Poole should have NO blame.  There were alternatives available to King's Lynn, i.e. R/R, Jacob Thorssell, Hans Andersen, Ricky Wells and David Bellego. The first 3 being much clearer options. Stars fans 'disgracing' Poole and it's supporters for it's blinkered views are exactly the same. This whole sorry mess all started from King's Lynn 'disgracing' the sport and we all shouldn't get away from that. Yes there were terrible decisions from the referee in the meeting but these wouldn't have been as bigger issues had King's Lynn not gone 18 points down in the first 5 heats. We displayed an embarrassing start to the meeting. Also, just remember, had Jakobsen been excluded instead of MPT, he was still injured. Had he come out for the rerun as the adrenaline was flowing, 100% would have pulled up in that heat with a broken wrist. Result; 51-38. Although a bit of fighting spirit was shown by King's Lynn mid meeting it was still a pretty abysmal performance. People should wind their necks in, focus on tonight and try to turn this result around fair and square with what we've got. Regardless of whether Ellis and Howarth score 0, King's Lynn need 8+ from all of Jorgensen, Riss and Proctor. Double figures from R.Lambert to be expected and 3-4 from S.Lambert. Any points from Ellis and Howarth should be looked at as a bonus. We have to go into this meeting with our minds set as a 5 man team and our middle order has to be on form. If one of Jorgensen, Riss or Proctor flop, quite frankly we're in the poop and we only have ourselves to blame for the appalling display in the first leg. Fingers crossed all rider's end the night safely, both sets of fans have an enjoyable evening and the world becomes a happy place again. May the best team over the 2 legs win and good luck all

I have blamed Chapman and King's Lynn for deciding to use Ellis when they apparently knew he was going to guest for Poole in the second leg. Not against the rules but only because of the incompetence of those who failed to include the play offs in the rule preventing such an obvious farce in the KO Cup. However, that is only part of what happened. The SCB, BSPA and both teams belatedly but sensibly acknowledged the farce that had been created but then wrongly decided that the answer was to break the rules by allowing Morris to ride for Poole at King's Lynn. That was ridiculous when options within the rules were available to solve the problem. It has made the sport a laughing stock. It is for that decision that all involved are responsible and for which they are rightly being blamed.

Don't know about bricks, but i was at the stadium this morning and thought i saw a box of these

F2 but they won't give it a serious try. You can fit a 450cc motocross engine (made by all the leading manufacturers) into existing frames and some of them will accept heavier flywheels if necessary. You would have better reliability, longer service intervals and hydraulic clutches that rarely need adjusting or new plates. This country needs to go it alone and forget pandering to the poles etc.

Forecast for Sunday looks a lot better both in Workington and Glasgow, maybe an idea to call off Friday and Saturday and run both meetings on Sunday one at 12.00 and the other at 19.00

When you hear reports from tracks saying the largest crowds and income come from dirt track racing then it obviously shows that there are bike fans interested in oval circuit racing as they can relate to the machines. Perhaps the fact these races are over more than 4 laps means better value for money? My sons liked speedway till I took them to a stock car meeting and we all realised it was much better value for money getting between 15 and 20 races with more than 4 competitors racing 20 laps or more. Time to wake up and smell the coffee!!!!

g13 It was a big bad error and the consequences for KL went far beyond it and no question you guys came off very disadvantaged. I suppose the easy answer is oh well it’s speedway but it does not help the showpiece final of a sport that is trying to attract a new and bigger audience. I don’t have the answers but I have a lot of questions for the people who run the Sport and have voiced these in many emails all of which have not even had- a reply. When administrators won’t engage with fans they miss a real opportunity of listening to other views some of which would be well worth looking into. As a business owner I regularly seek the views of my staff and customers to make sure I am not dropping a ball and it’s a great way of keeping things in perspective , speedway has lots of loyal fans and at times it seems that have to put up with what is served up and what is decided by others . All promoters want the best for their teams and will know every possible way of exploiting any loop holes that’s knowing your business perhaps some non promoters and business people and marketers should be invited on to a management committee whose job it is to protect the integrity and future of the sport. I'm going to ignore all the crap from both sides and simply wish... its a meeting with plenty of good racing no injuries no controversial ref decisions the best team wins I very much doubt all the above will happen but we can hope.

Howarth is illegal. Don’t the rules state that no member of a semi final losing team can guest in the final? OK he’s a wolves rider but rode for Somerset in the semi final at Poole. Plenty of time for Kings Lynn to find someone else.

They made it clear at the beginning of the season when you applied for your ticket that semis & finals weren't included. How much warning do you need?

I stopped looking at this forum about 15 minutes after the end of the first leg, the usual muppets spouting the usual crap. Its no wonder riders dont bother looking on here. At at the end of the day it’s only racing.

Absolutely nothing at all. It was always a risk running against the same team for three weeks on the trot and so it proved. Should have considered a scheme where if you produced your admission ticket from the first match at the second you got a discount/benefit, produce your admission tickets from the first & second meeting for further discounts/benefits at the third. Doesn't have to be money off at the turnstiles - centre green visits, raffles to present rider of the night, ride with the team on parade vehicle, watch a race from the refs box - things that don't cost the club anything. We were part of the MCN festival for two years running with hundreds of non speedway fans attending each time. Absolutely nothing was done that I'm aware of to interact with these people or to encourage them back. Should have been handing out discount vouchers with fixture lists, organised photograph/autograph sessions, hand out stickers/posters for the kids etc. (Something they could have done in partnership with BSPA as not all people would have been from the Peterborough area). Surprisingly there appears to be a fairly strong fan base at Peterborough and I believe attendances can improve with some effort & promotion of the meetings themselves. Our social media is virtually non existent. Other clubs promote matches by asking for retweets in return for prizes - again the prizes don't need to cost anything, they can be experiences you wouldn't normally get as a fan.

There won't be any post and I certainly won't be congratulating Poole. Of course you will hang on. Pirates will probably also win at Kings Lynn ~ similar to what Coventry did in 2010 in the 2nd leg at Poole. Remember when they won both legs of the play-off final and the management acted like spoilt brats? Some of us never forget so don't expect any congratulations from me because you won't be getting them.

very good question,with poole being for sale many people have asked the same,so far the list of assets is 1xclapped out tractor,2xwheelbarrows and 5 rakes! rider assets? thats a big gamble,a buyer can only base an offer on the profits shown on the accounts,then has to factor in risks such as will attendance remain the same,what happens if first 3 meetings are rained off? and dont forget bspa bond! i think any prospective buyer has to be a massive fan,slightly mad a real gambler and very wealthy,sorry

All in all, I hope its a close meeting with some good racing. Hopefully its not a complete anti climax.

The last 4 attendances were clearly an issue for Ged. Yes they may have been ok most of the season but definite room for improvement & a need for better promotion of meetings

Pleased to hear opinions from a sensible Poole fan, and I can except most of what you say. but you seem to forget the importance of the situation when making that mistake. We as a club were dealt a savage blow losing our top SGP rider and forced to use a 2nd string replacement, making us considerably weaker , We had started this match terribly losing out in the first five races, but clawed our way back into contention, when the Ref makes the most almighty blunder, rewarding the reckless riding of Jakobsen and gift wrapping Poole 6Pts. . MPT was penalised for doing nothing wrong. It was a monumental error of gigantic proportions gift wrapping Poole success. There can be no excuse for making a mistake of this magnitude. It wasn't even a difficult decision.. But it don't stop there, the consequences of that move by Jakobsen, , means we have lost our (ace in the hole) MPT, for the rest of the final, a double whammy , that to me all but seals our fate. So when you consider all the issues and problems that have incurred, with this our first final, it is of little wonder people feel unhappy how its all turned out. If we had a full team overcoming 16 deficit would be difficult, but doing it without 2 of your ace riders is near impossible. That mistake and those 6 pts blundered by the ref, has made this second leg a foregone conclusion.. NB. The replacement of Howarth for the injured MPT is insane... MTP, quick gater, smooth rider, likes grippy tracks would have scored at least 12 points from his many rides, Howarth wont score half that...

OMG - As a new poster on here I am utterly staggered at the anti-poole jealousy and envy that gets posted on here. Utterly embarrassing ! Yes, I am a Poole fan, but first and foremost i am a speedway fan. Yes, the referee made one big blunder last night, football referees make huge rickets every single week, get over it. Matt Ford has always used the rules to his advantage, but he does not make the rules, and he has never broken the rules ! If the green light has been given for Poole to use Morris at Lynn tomorrow, at Lynn's request, then he is doing nothing wrong. Of course it is not ideal, but give the man a break, he is the most pro-active promoter in the UK who tries to provide the most attractive product he can, despite the majority of other promoters consistently year on year happy to water down our incredible sport to it's current poor state. Trust me, if every club had a Matt Ford at the helm the British speedway would be in a much healthier state !
