Although a licensed Promoter at Peterborough I am, like everyone else involved in the Club, a willing volunteer. I offer my time and expertise freely, simply because of my love for the sport.

Selling any Speedway track as a going concern will be like selling a shop currently sat in any one of hundreds of dilapidated high streets, precincts and parades around the country... You will be selling that business surrounded by dusty window fronted shops displaying signs saying 'closed', 'for rent' or 'for sale'.. With several more, who are still open, displaying 'everything must go' and 'closing down' signs. With the actual building itself, in line with virtually every other building adjacent, having an interior and exterior that's hardly changed in the past fifty years.. And if you do consider purchasing the business, your planned opening hours, a fundamental part of your business plan, have to be agreed to by the businesses adjacent and by your employees who will tell you when they are available... Hardly going to inspire you to invest in a location or business like that is it..?

Always was, and still is. Always comes across as unpleasant imho. So no surprise to see nothing changes with him.

If he doesn't want to ride in the UK thats his choice. He should not be prevented from riding in the GP qualifiers or the British championship if he wishes. It's not his fault that the powers that be in this country have made UK speedway worthless. You wouldn't be forced to stay at your current work place if it was on the verge of folding and ran by idiots, when you had better offers from elsewhere. Especially if you were self employed!

15.8.1 If the Referee stops a heat, following an incident or accident, where the rider causing the stoppage and his team partner were in third and fourth place and a re-run is called with one of those riders excluded, the Referee has the sole discretion to order that the remaining team partner will start on a 15 metre handicap in gate position c or d (the opposing team does not change positions). The rule says nothing about 'staying down' or intent. In my view it's all about preventing the classic scenario of a re-run resulting in a total different result from that which was almost assured before the stoppage. In last nights case the ref did the right thing, it was highly unlikely that Klindt was going to pass the two Lynn riders. Had he been right behind them, and with a fair chance of passing at least one of them, then I'm sure the ref would have had all 3 riders restart from their original gate positions. I think it's a fair rule.

All this nonsense about Poole Speedway is up for Sale “If I receive the right Price” Well actually this applies to every Track in the Country, A Speedway Club is a Business and every Business has a Price, There is not a Promoter in the Country that if someone offered them a offer they couldn’t refuse wouldn’t sell,

Once again the usual suspects stick the boot into Laurence Rogers. In doing so, they show just how subjective and prejudiced their views are. As can clearly be seen from those - including me - that were there, this meeting was dreadful for one reason and one reason only - the state of the track. That was, by any standards, bloody awful - rutted, bumpy, greasy and patchy. Its why the riders spent more time battling with the surface than each other. That, of course, was entirely the responsibility of Leicester Speedway and completely out of Rogers' control. As a further point to those who choose to blame him for everything, he also wasn't responsible for the lousy weather, rider absences or the food (which looked positively revolting). While I would admit that the programme wasn't good, aside from that the organisation - at least as far as I could see - was pretty decent (unnecessary interval apart). Every heat and rider was sponsored, as was the meeting. It began on time and ended in reasonable time. All riders received a memento of the occasion and body colours (also sponsored) were auctioned for the SRBF. I'd never pretend to be unbiased where Laurence is concerned. But to blame him for how poor this meeting was is totally wrong.

ME too but all good things come to en end and, frankly, not sure he was still 'putting bums on seats' ... not even in Denmark.

But the the likes of Carter and Collins always had access to top equipment, certainly the equal of their main rivals. Let's face it some of those you have named are nowhere near the quality of Tai

The gp series has been dull? I can only assume you have always found speedway dull. Gp series has been excellent, as was the SoN. And pretty much everything from the NSS. Racing in ekstraliga has been typically good as well.

Speedway must be made affordable for fans, riders and promoters. You can't keep chasing the tail of a country that gets ten times the crowds that we do and unlimited sponsorship due to it's high profile status. Look inward and make some moves, instead of talking about it but not implementing it.

Correct... No point in buying into a business where all the businesses around you are closing down.. Retail businesses often close due to foot fall dropping due to other outlets adjacent going bust... Put Simply, Team Speedway needs teams (and a wide variety to maintain interest)... The Sport desperately needs a clear direction and an injection of radical ideas... With I would suggest a collective 'Brand Speedway' marketing plan... Instead of individually paying thousands out each week to riders who put hardly a bottom on a seat, pay a marketing company to achieve exactly that.. Work together and not against each other... It might already be too late but has to be worth a go..

I think you are right to see parallels with Woffinden and Hamilton. Both made it to the top the hard way, both have been World Champion more than any other Brit in their sport and - for whatever reason - both their successes stick in the craw of some of the more "traditional" supporters in their sports.

I live in the West Midlands and classify myself as a Wolves fan, but before that lived in East Anglia and for many years Lynn was my local track. Yes, I admit I'm biased, and really, really wanted Lynn to win, and had they been able to field the riders available as at the completion of the Torun GP I'm sure they'd have walked it. The loss of Niels, and his subsequent replacement with an inferior guest, was probably not in itself the fatal blow; that was the incident at Poole that undeservedly led to MPT's exclusion when he clearly received a push from the Poole rider on the inside (Specsavers anybody ? I assume the ref had tv replays available, and it was clearly visible on BT Sport) albeit not deliberately or maliciously, and his subsequent loss from the rest of that meeting and the second leg on Wednesday.

That’s not fair on Lambert - he has many years ahead of him

Everyone hopes that titles are won by brave and exciting overtaking moves and that you can heap praise on the champions Sadly the 2 moves most pivotal to Pooles success were Kurtz injuring Holder in the semi and Jackobsen injuring MPT in the final No intent for sure in either case but more important than any points won in the completed races that followed Without those 2 incidents no doubt Poole wouldve not won either tie

Don't fancy your job removing them with the amount of rain we will have up to 6 pm

The Poole sale sounds like Matt Ford trying to bluff the BSPA into keeping a top league, so his rider "assets" retain some value. We heard it all from him in 2009, when he was going to close the track because the club was bottom of the league. Support from the south coast faithful was fickle then, as always.

At the end of the day the record books will show Poole as 2018 SGB Champions. However so we do not have this situation where the best team over the season does not ultimately become Champions perhaps some allowance should be made for topping the league (apart from pick of opponents and choice of home or away leg first). Ultimately King's Lynn finished 9 points ahead of Poole in the table so perhaps KL should have been given a 9 point start for the final. Opinions?

As a neutral, I had to feel for KIng's Lynn. Losing on aggregate by 4 (the minimum the referee cost them in the first leg - and I'm sorry, but the KL rider did not cross the line into the infield with both wheels tonight); losing two influential riders, not even nearly adequately covered by the guests; and finishing 9 points ahead of Poole in the table...it's pretty sickening for them.

Don't need too. Tai is the best ever. An outstanding role model for the youth of today, who even in the face of adversity and losing a parent at a relatively young age and having failed spectacularly at the first attempt knuckled down, set goals, battled through injury and became World Champion. Hopefully soon to be Britain's first ever three time World Champion. Not only that but raised hundreds of thousands for charity, always has time for fans for photos/autographs and has matured immensely.
