It says an awful lot about the Isle of Wight promotion that they have landed this meeting and not one of the bigger clubs. What is more remarkable is that they were approached by Polish Speedway, not the other way around.

And reported broken ribs for Covatti, so both out for quite a while, maybe the season I would think and I wish them both a speedy recovery , Had broken ribs a couple of times myself and it is very painful. They were both scoring pretty well too and will be a big loss to the team.

Well what I have seen so far this year proctor, Jorgensen and kerr need to go as well as S lambert. Team needs a major overhaul Riss, Iversen and 2 others needed ASAP

Of course you're stronger , Howarth instead of Wethers !!!!! Howarth could score more on his own than what Wethers , Sedgmen and Ruddick scored together in the Shield match . So the usual downplaying of their chances by the salt and sauce mob won't wash this time . But I'll be there tonight in red and white hoping against hope that our boys can do it again .

Having spoken to someone from Somerset last night, they were not happy with the track and an extended meeting was held after the meeting to make sure this doesn't happen again.

If he was stale at Swindon he must be absolutely gone off at Wolves

Becker got 7 last time at Belle Vue and rode well there in the SON If Poole were to use Etheridge he goes well at the NSS Can see Becker and Etheridge getting the 7 points between them that Covatti and NBJ did As long as R/R gets 3 or more Poole look good here

The Weymouth wildcats ran past half 10 the other week

I think that’s the bottom line. Made a slow start and I think it’s been magnified by his schedule. Not getting out of the start like he was last year which will always have a big impact on a speedway rider’s scoring.

Well, obviously. They're in the Premiership, not the Championship.

Latest from Sam Norris We are pleased to say after a very stressful and hectic day Sam is now in Addenbrookes. I flew with Sam with Scotstar who got us safely to Cambridge airport, Chris travelled by train. We would like to thank all the staff at Glasgow Royal children's hospital who cared for Sam and making it possible for him to be well enough to be transferred. They were absolutely outstanding and made us both feel a part of Sam's treatment, so thank you from the bottom of our hearts. Thank you also to Ronald McDonald accommodation for giving us somewhere to stay and for our lovely chats. Now we begin Sam's ride to recovery. Claire and ChrisThank you also to Peter Facenna for providing accommodation for the days we didnt have other and Jim McGregor for his support.

Great to see such generosity by the crowd for Sam. Not so great a result for the Bears. To be honest, I'm really struggling to understand quite how it can be that teams don't know when the interval will be at a meeting. Is it not part of the referees duties to ensure BOTH teams know after which heat, the interval will be held ??? Ironic we can communicate instantly to far corners of the globe, and yet not communicate from a referees box to yards away ? Anything to make the team managers job harder I suppose. Sheesh !!

At the end of the day Simon does a job for the team, when he is signed it’s to fill a gap vacated by somebody else or in this case to allow the acquisition of another rider. It’s pretty clear he and somebody else will be leaving soon so I don’t understand why people need to let into him particularly after a meeting where he has scored in every ride. Just seems a bit unnecessary to me.

Naked hot laps, stealing the grading tractor, walking the length of the infield on his hands, handcuffing people to the flagpoles in their pants on their birthdays the list of escapades goes on! Parker was a true character and legend of our sport, get well soon!

And many others, I suspect. Individual meetings have their place during the course of the season, but team speedway is what's it all about.

I would just like to thank the Plymouth Speedway family for the generous bucket collection last night for injured rider Sam Norris. Everyone dug deep and raised just under £300,it will be topped up to £350 by the Plymouth Speedway riders fund. I will be contacting Sam's family to send the money to them. Thank you for your support. Stuart Kellie, Plymouth Speedway.

Pleased to see Jacob get picked up. Looked impressive in first half of the meeting on Friday, as smooth as I have seen him.

Very pleased to get Jacob who I think will be a good replacement for Simon who obviously didn't have the style for Brough. Many were surprised when Jacob didn't get a ride with the Bears both last year and this year. Although his start with the Bears a few years ago didn't work out, he has always impressed when invited to ride in Open meetings and scored well on Friday in a big Redcar Open meeting. He rode well in a Amateur meeting at Redcar on Saturday, winning the top class for 500 cc's, and rode very well in the private practice session at Brough on Sunday afternoon, getting a lot of rides and being one of the last riders at the end. He lives locally now and, being a Dane, will be company for both Tomas and Lasse. I believe he is from Slangerup, which was Jespers home club, so might see Jesper to have words of advice for him. The timing of this move is spot on as Jacob will be at reserve, which will give him an easier run in the Diamonds ranks whilst he is finding his feet. I look forward to a more balanced team now, and hope that others in the team get over their current problems and score the points expected of them. Happy with this signing and team changes.
