A decent night at NSS. Weather played it's part big time. We were lucky to get a meeting on after the rain we had over weekend. It made gate 1 very lucrative which is a shame as usually the gates are quite even. It also made the track a little to grippy early on and then produced a line right by the fence if you had the balls to go there. Luckily half the riders did. A massive crowd in the stadium on a Monday night was good to see. I'd say about 2500+. Danny Ayres, auty, Kennet and Harris all produce bravery at the highest level. Felt sorry for danny. Never seen a crowd will a rider on like they did danny Ayres. Everyone was gutted when Harris pipped him. Last but not least Charles wright, bravo sir. A very deserving winner. And a local lad. How hes never rode for us I never know. Wright as improved season upon season. Entertains every meeting. He goes under the radar a lot for some reason. No more now though. Proved his worth. Go and enjoy cardiff mate

Huge congratulations to Charles Wright not often a rider i want to win it actually does. Glad to see Starkey walk away and lovely to see the unity of riders with bikes, helmets and even boots being leant between each other. The final word has to go to the man the legend Danny Ayres. A great showman and ambassador for the sport, agonisingly close to the heat win he so craved although he may still be on track celebrating now if he had.

Think the rule regarding ‘ if the race is stopped after 1st bend someone has to be excluded “ needs revised. That was definitely a case of All 4 back. IMO.Racing incident, you could have excluded Worrell, Wright or Stark depending how you viewed it.

As a Redcar fan when I booked my tickets for my first British GP with my son I never dreamt that we would be watching one of our own riders. Absolutely bloody magnificent! Go on Charlie Boy, see you in Cardiff.

Even he isn’t a patch on Charles Wright for entertainment value. Wright is the most entertaining rider in the whole league.

I though Danny was a moto x convert? Not sure i have ever seen or heard of him on the grass? He is though a true gent and has developed into a class act from what was a very scruffy beginning. There will be plenty who remember his first year at Kent & Rye House where he would fall multiple times in a race, so much so that he developed the ability to slide off and remount in almost one movement. He works tirelessly on his riding and on bettering himself and its really paying off. He also has the theatrics, showmanship and pantomime villian down to a tee so love or loathe him everyone wants to see Danny Ayres. If you ever get the chance to talk to him please do as he is one of the most genuine, honest and lovable people you will ever meet.

The rule is actually 'if the race is stopped the referee shall exclude the culprit' - there's no 'first bend doesn' t count' caveat. So if referees are allowed to regularly ignore that rule by ordering 'all four back' re-runs after a bingle on the first turn, they can theoretically do so at any stage, on any lap. Which would lead to all sorts of stuff, l fear. Last night, the rider 'who was the cause of the stoppage' was maybe 25% Stevie Worrall, 75% Paul Starke. Never Charles Wright.

    Nah - Danny Ayres!

Can anyone deny Woffy's entertainment value tonight? Not to mention his usual good racing knowledge. Even his lack of commentating expertise was entertaining. Actually, he brought a brand of comment that I found refreshing. Forget the professional approach. Let's have more of this unvarnished expert comment.

What a fantastic meeting On the brilliant Belle Vue track Won magnificently by Charles Wright Individual race of the night - Danny Ayres in heat 19 - should have won it Absolutely nothing wrong with British speedway when the riders can race on a brilliant track All that is needed is 9 more tracks as race worthy as Belle Vue then there would be a Premiership League worthy of watching by thousands - Promotors, its time to wake up and deliver the goods.

Perhaps someone from Poole (Steve Shovlar?) could advise BV where to put the pot holes in the track so the home side could have an advantage.

Just caught up with the meeting (I was at Kent last night), a few random observations. All in all a great meeting after a slow start. Charles Wright a well deserved and entertaining winner, kept his focus after that controversial exclusion. Danny Ayres, a legend at Kent and Mildenhall, comes to play with the big boys - and gives it his all. Fantastic entertainer as ever. Wright spent his first four seasons at Buxton - how they are missed Somerset's team building looks even more questionable now. Not a Woffy fan, but I am warming to him. I thought his on air coaching of Danny Ayres showed that he has more to offer speedway than his riding abilities.

Congratulations Charles Wright 2019 BRITISH CHAMPION, from all your Somerset fans............. I think most of us could see where you perfected those moves!

Top of Peterborough's averages, 2nd top of Redcars averages only due to Riss riding less matches. Has a team in Poland and ridden in a G.P. Qualifier where he was the only rider all day to make overtakes and took Vaclav Milik from the back. and now BRITISH CHAMPION! As I said...YOU have no clue.

The whole thing may as well be handed over to Billy Smart's Circus, because that's what this track is more appropriate for. It was made out of rubbish and it's exactly what it produces.Out of 22 heats there were about 6 where it was a fair circuit, possible to race and succeed using inside, outside, and middle. For the rest, it had only one viable line and actually in the end just became a stunt-riding exhibition.

Worthy winner, be good to see a new Brit at Cardiff. Danny Ayres should be first reserve!

Hope Matt lays on a lap of honour for Charles Wright. Fully deserved it tonight.

You've got to laugh at people moaning. Even poor races are good at the NSS. At least the riders are going fast and it looks like speedway. Far better than the bumbling, wobbling and locking up at the vast majority of laughable tracks we have to put up with in this country. There's now been at least a couple of races that most UK tracks couldn't even get close to in terms of excitement.

Big opportunity for every BSF poster to have their say on the Kartway's Facebook page. Over 280 had posted last time I checked with most POLITELY requesting the inclusion of speedway in any future plans for the stadium. JUST DO IT.
