I suppose you are also eagerly waiting to get your plans drawn up for next season ? Or do we know them already .... let me guess. Stay at home and put the sport down, yet again ? Am I warm ?

Yes because constantly lowering the points limit over the past 20 odd years has worked so well!

If the Oxford vaccine takes a few months more to be brought into use I would prefer to wait, as it will hopefully make me more intellectual and brainy.

Franz Leitner rode a couple of times for Ipswich sometime in the mid nineties, was hopelessly off the pace

Solyannikov was there as 2019/20 U-21 Champion, whilst Toloknov and Kolenkin were there as they finished out of the Top 4 of the Russian Championship and as a result get to ride in the European Championship. As far as I am aware, all three could be seeded to the Russian Final in two weeks, as only 13 went through from the two Semis. But I may be wrong. That is the problem. Weber is a shoe in, as is Niklas Svensson - Stefan said he doesn't want to ride in the GPs anymore, but he's said that before. Ledstrom has technically retired, but he may have a go after today. Haarahiltunen will probably be there, as I reckon he'll be fit by then. As for the rest, you are probably right, although Harald Simon is a good rider and can match the Russians.

Top three in last year's Russian Ice Championship (exc seeded World champion) got a shot at FIM Ice Gladiators. Next three spots got the Euro nomination. As only 6/7 are going thru to the final it looks like the three Russians riding in Poland today have been seeded to Russian Ice Final. So the Russians riding in today's European are approx. 5th/6th/7th best Russian ice racers.

Not sure it is good news. I assume this advert is placed by the current owners. The question could be who wants to lease the stadium in its current state? The situation of selling the stadium is a much different situation, a new owner can invest in the property, a tennant is less likely to invest in the property and the owner could choose not to do so. Personally I hope no wants to lease it from the current owners and that the council continue to push for the stadium to be sold to someone like Nick Burdir who wants to run the stadium for Sports and Community use. We need to hope that if the owner's cannot find someone to rent the stadium, they cannot use this as an argument to say the stadium is not viable.

Think the pressure of the sport gets to him quite a lot of the time ,so maybe the break will help.I think he has probably realised his level.Never mentioned if he had employment this year.

Lot of things to consider here. The full story was in the Speedway Star last week, the extract linked just seems to pick and choose items. Firstly he would be separated from his family for a time. Hasn't he just got a young child? Jason Doyle says in this weeks Star he and Troy Batchelor really struggled living in Poland this year as well. Then if Craig Cook didn't have any machinery out there, that could be another expense. Plus I'm sure he's had some bad experiences out there before about signing, then not being used after lying out money on transport and equipment. Maybe once bitten...? Easy to sit back and just blame a lack of ambition, but often more to it than that.

I don’t think the interest is here for a new venture sadly. Or there are too many hurdles I should say. Rye worked because it was already in-situ. There was also some kind of clause on the land that it had to be used for sport I believe. To buy land with planning permission this close to London would take deep pockets, you’d make your money back and then some by building houses on the land, not a Speedway circuit. If you were silly enough to try and do that I suspect those responsible for giving such permission would probably kick you out on the basis that there was a Speedway track in Hoddesdon and it went out of business. Even though that isn’t the full story.

would that not make it more easy on promoters and fans to keep supplying a product while having a product that was more inline with everyones pockets . if they want to earn BIG money, get a job on an oil rig and sea how that goes .. also i think the gate money has had to go up as the years go by due to riders demands , get yourself to a schoolboys mx, its better than watching grown up adults spitting their dummies when the track is not smooth enough ! so for 20 odd years the price has been going up and still we find the sport no further on in entertainment ... .

PS Will the Star start a campaign to get recognition and a gong for Leaping Len Silver ?? He is way overdue and can't be a more deserving person in British Speedway

Silver played his part by selling to a bloke who had no idea about the sport and had no attachment to the sport or club. A decision which has ultimately seen the demise of the club. Warren Scott had no real interest and then left the running of the club to Steve Jenson who again had no idea about the sport and came across as completely out of his depth. Had all the personality of a wet lettuce and employed people like Peter Schroeck who was out of his depth. Also seems he overpaid with wages to Harris, Nicholls, KK etc causing issues in the second season in the top flight. The whole situation is an absolute disgrace and sums up the sport and the prats running it. A track with unlimited restrictions, history in the sport and a profitable business for nearly 20 years. Then half a season of financial issues (due to being forced to run on a weekday by the BSPA) and the track is lost and ripped out within a couple of years. Chapman and Godfrey were an abomination in charge of the sport and played a huge part in the demise as well. Two more incompetent fools would be hard to find. Bringing fixed race nights nearly ruined many clubs and cost Rye. Rye has never been a midweek club and it was never going to work. After very good crowds in 2017(racing on Fridays/Saturdays) and only just missing out on the playoffs, you can't blame BMR for giving it ago in the top league again but the rule bought in killed the club. For the BSPA to then just chuck the club out midseason and wash their hands of the club was a disgrace. I wouldn't have thought Silver very rarely ever lost money at Rye and Jenson confirmed the finances were in good shape after the first season in the top flight. Three months of problems and the decisions of the BSPA meant the bulldozers have moved in eventually. With idiots like Godfrey still in charge of the sport, there is no hope. This is the bloke who stopped clubs running on their usual nights in case he needed guests for his club... How did the bloke in there now, Ricky Musk get hold of the venue off BMR? Why were the BSPA not in touch with BMR as soon as they knew they had problems and taking on the stadium or getting another promoter in there? They sat on their backsides and let someone like Keven Jolly try and get a deal to race at a venue where speedway was the number one priority at the venue for many years The situation at Rye should make every fan who has an interest in the sport very, very angry. A club with a long history and who had very healthy crowds in 2017 are now lost forever. A sad indictment on the sport.

Having known Garrity since his Coventry days, I always found him to be obliging and friendly whenever I saw him. Always shook my hand or hugged me, asked how I was and how the family was. He always tried hard with his social skills and tried to do his bit for the fans. Obviously nobody can condone what he has done and the punishment in prison is absolutely the correct decision. I really hope the people he terrorised can get on with their life in some sort of normal capacity tho God knows how difficult that might be. I'm certainly not going to defend anything he has done because you can't, but I do think he was someone who was easily led into trouble and once you get involved in drugs its a really tough road back.
