I agree that excluding Morris was the correct decision, whether it was dirty however is a different matter.

Hi all. long time no speak :-) for those that fancy a listen I’ve started a podcast about the memories of the Coventry Bees, and so far have recorded 4 first one was with Robbo and it’s a shame it happened but there were major technical problems So the sound and recording wasn’t great but it was still great to chat to him Episode 2 was with Jacob Olsen. Jacob was very honest about his career in the mid 90s Episode 3 was with Rosco who told a couple of great stories and reminisced about his time at the club as a rider and then League winning Manager. most recent Episode 4 was with Shaun Tacey. Great to speak to Tace who told a couple of belting stories including one where Tony Rickardsson of all people let him down :-) Others who have so far agreed to catch up include Peter Oakes, Rory Schlein, Chris Harris, Martin Smolinski, Darren Spicer and Andy Hackett If you have some spare time give it a listen. It’s something I thought about doing last year and lockdown has managed to convince me to give it a go. Hope you enjoy Chivsy https://anchor.fm/martin-coleman5

I seen far far worse - just a racing incident that one More to do with the narrow exits to the bends than anything else

First time I've seen the incident therefore not aware of the outcome but I would have excluded Morris personally.

Giving the current situation and the vast majority of riders who are available already snapped up Plymouth might find things a bit harder than normal actually putting together a competitive team.

Congratulations to Plymouth, So where does this leave the NL especially the 2 stand alone tracks ?, I have been out of the loop for a while but understood some of the Profesional Teams were looking to run teams in the NL, however the big questions will be of what standard of rider will a more NL Development League consist of, and will the fixtures consist of a second half type meeting for the majority of profesional Teams ? those in my opinion will be the main discussion points for the NL/NDL to decide, I believe that the standard of rider can be overcome, but have serious doubts that Mildenhall and the IOW would be viable should the majority of profesional Teams decide to have there NDL Teams as a second half of a main meeting, when i say viable i mean in the way that both these teams will be in the lap of the gods when it comes to curfews and such like should the meetings be basically a second half, and i cant see the majority of profesional teams wanting to put on NDL meetings as a fixture in itself. All in all worrying times for Mildenhall and the IOW as we as a Sport simply cannot afford to lose any more Teams from the Sport especially two Teams that have been mainstays of the NL for a number of years, the NL coordinator has some big big decisions to make but has his hands tied by the profesional teams being able to say this is what we want take it or leave it, and should they leave it then its impossible to make up a League with only two Teams.. once again Congratulations to Plymouth on being accepted to the profesional ranks I just hope there can be a way forward for the NDL.

    Yeah, definitely Peterborough...

Wish there was a British youngster that fit the bill. Its our 3rd heat leader that we are looking for at 6.6. Got 2 good British youngsters in the team with Anders Rowe & Jordan Jenkins.

Wasn't it Phil Morris who effectively ended David Mcallan's career?

As an ex-Hammer I can relate to that. Must admit I have settled in to being a Kent regular instead but news of a Hammers revival at Thurrock fills me with hope. While having a comfortable seat at Central Park, which I never had at Arena, is attractive to an oldie like me, if the Hammers do get back, it might be bye bye to Kent.

The sooner Barry Bishop is put in charge of the 3rd Tier under whatever Title the better. May be the only hope. Certainly far more qualified in every regard that a stooge taking the 3rd tier on a branch line to nowhere and oblivion.

I am not sure where the information you have came from but to the best of my knowledge there has not been a NDL AGM - well at least not one that I have attended anyways. Keep safe one and all please.

Kent already have Ledwith & Hurry in their plans so a few more won't do any harm. In hilarious contrast to the upper two leagues (who think so highly of themselves that they seldom reference the NDL) the introduction of a minimum age limit. All riders to be 25 and above, no exams etc to worry about and bonus points offered for any side with a combined age that exceeds 220.

Dropping capacity wont work as you cannot sensibly supply enough riders from the youth classes across the league plus the majority of the teams are run midweek. I hope its a cap on the top riders averages creating more strength in depth sides as just reducing the team build averages artificially inflates the averages of riders and creates the impression they are better than they are.

Covid/ Polish League is the straw that broke the camel’s back. Speedway’s issues date back a long time before Poland became the dictators of all things Speedway. For 20/30 years Promoters have just kicked the can down the road until there is nowhere left to kick it. My interest has declined year on year until there is little to nothing left in it for me. Will be interesting to see where they pitch it price wise and the crowds that are prepared to watch it.

I think N Pedersen is the only deliberately dirty rider I've seen. Many are guilty of bad judgement and over-riding, but it's rarely deliberate. Generally speaking, I think most of the top riders will be much harder on riders of equal ability than they would be on lesser riders, Nicki excepted. I seem to remember him being decked by his own junior team-mate Wayne Carter in the Brandon pits after one particularly nasty move. Off-topic slightly, Sudden Sam has cropped up on here. Was it my imagination, or did he have a habit of inexplicably falling off on the 3rd/4th bends all by himself? I've seen him do it more than once at both Brandon & Monmore.

How can you decide what is dirty, it's accepted practice to close gaps and it's accepted that some will make the effort to squeeze through or widen a gap to go through? If that action is the result of a rider declaring or thinking that "Joe Bloggs is in this race and I'm going to try and knock him off" then it's dirty but mostly it's just trying too hard or being prepared to take a few risks, without premeditation. Actually, with some of the threads being dreamed up recently, it would seem that too many people are short of something to do.
