FEEDBACK FEEDBACK FEEDBACK We have received many messages, emails and letters over the years and here is one of the latest. We are always proud to receive them and this one says exactly what we are all about - what our club stands for. I share this with you today as it is addressed to us all but also highlights the brilliant work of Andy Hague (a true unsung hero of the club) along with Ken Burnett and Ian Groves who one way or another produced such great work that has kept speedway fans across the world entertained while showcasing our club and the Isle of Wight. This email truly highlights Andy’s selfless work to continue to push the sport of speedway out there at the most difficult of time and he must be congratulated for his unrivalled determination to keep our club, speedway and Speedway Portal keeping all speedway fans entertained, every week, without fail. So Andy from Martin Widman and I - thank you Sir. Everyone have a read and be very proud.... To All of you lovely people at Warriors Speedway, We are so sorry that there will be no competitive speedway on the island this year. Since lockdown my wife & I have lost both our Mums (one to Covid) & have been unable to travel to our favourite sport. Yet on a weekly basis Isle of Wight speedway have provided us with our weekly `fix` of speedway action. This has been most uplifting to both of us & has helped us to combat ours loses. And taken us away to the Island for an hour or so. To this extent we both feel part of your crowd base. And were actually hoping to take in a meeting or two after deciding to take a holiday on the Island once the lockdown is lifted. I have already inked in my diary thursday`s your 2019 match with Mildenhall on Youtube. Hopefully, you will be in a position to run our fantastic sport in 2022. Thank you to everyone involved in providing their time & energy to always put on great show of entertainment every week. Isle of Wight Speedway have done the most of ALL the clubs during lockdown to keep British Speedway, our wonderful sport in the forefront of our minds. We feel so sad for all those supporters who will miss out this season. Our local track Swindon are also not running but we are in a location where we can visit other tracks with reasonable ease. To you all we say "Thank you, take care & stay safe" Kind regards

Yep fully agree jrs, can't wait for it to start again. I see MM93 had a tentative ride on the mini moto and a road bike so can't really see how he can be fully race fit but we will see. VR46 is struggling at the moment but that is not so unusual for him as he never really shines in testing and practice. I really hope he can get hi mojo back and at least compete with the young guns. I do think Petronas team will suit him.

Well we're only ten days away from the start of the season and I can't wait to get some normality back into this strange world we've lived in for the past year. I thought that last year was brilliant because it brought about a complete change in the hierarchy of motogp. Obviously if Marquez is fit, the spotlight will be on his every move too see if he can reclaim his title, and how will the youngsters manage in solidifying their progress of last year in the absence of Marquez. Plus, how will the old boy do in his new team. Only seems a few years ago that he entertained us all as a fifteen year old when I first saw him race in Bruno.

You often see on here the quote "speedway should be a £10 sport". I paid £199 for my 2020 season pass, which is carried over to 2021. The e-mail I received says this gets me into 12 Championship matches and 7 National League matches. Right there is your £10 (okay £10.50) sport.

Having just had a catch up on the National league goings on and signings the teams look so unbalanced its not going to make much of a sceptical . Basically every team has 2 or some 3 number ones then the rest of the team is made up of reserve quality riders . Heats 13 and 15 look like they could be tasty most meetings . But come on nearly getting lapped by Max Clegg or Nathan Greaves isn't going to help these kids . Clearly the points limit is far too low to enable teams to swap a couple of 3 pointers with 4.5-6.5 averaged riders who can fill the void . Far too many races/heats will just be processional and very strung out . It would/will surely be hard for stand alone clubs to charge for such entertainment other than the bare minimum . This is only my opinion guys if you think i am wrong fair enough tell me why in your opinion i am . Maybe i can be convinced to change my mind . Most important thing i suppose is speedway is returning so that i suppose is all that counts .

Roughly...divide £300 grand by 16 engines...he saw them coming and took them to the cleaners. Apparently they are still trying to get their money back 4 years later , not a hope in....

Ah yes! A "rising star" who was perfectly placed to take the next step onwards in his career until............the "rising Star" program was introduced resulting in him being forced out of his team place by an ill conceived idea. Which means a bright British prospect is out of a job with little chance of a place in any league as he has too high a rising star rating for the championship. Too high an average for the NDL (i. e. Conference league) thanks to the absolutely ludicrous 35 point limit the powers that be have introduced there.

If it’s not about the winning why be so strict about the points limit anyway? Never understood that in sport ! A bit like the football clubs. Just because you can’t attract the support to pay higher wages. Maybe the promoters could put more effort into attracting larger crowds than spending all their time trying to work out how to stifle the other clubs which in itself just drives down standards and affects crowds even more !! Instead of a use it or lose it culture why not give supporters a reason to go. It’s not just about getting the 15 heats over and done with (not nowadays anyway) it’s about the whole experience. It may not suit a lot of the old Skool as they like it over and done with and get home but if they want their sport to survive then it’s a trade off

Must agree. The video was very revealing. Excellent racing and Heeps looked like a fighter, so I have already taken a liking to him. I think Central Park will be to his liking.

What is a surprise to me is the press release completely ignoring the fact that the two Scottish teams have been awarded grants, whereas English teams have been told that they might possibly perhaps get something or they might get nothing and it might be a grant or it might be a loan.....yippee!

The worst & best of speedway in Britain. All four are at the tapes p1$$ing about until the race starts at 1.17 then 2 riders giving it their all, swapping & changing for 2nd place.

Not sure if this will have any effect on Kent Speedway but unfortunately Len Silver and his partner Hazel long running business Silver Ski holidays has gone into administration on Friday due to Covid 19 pandemic
