The only stumbling block I can see is international travel from the UK is banned at the moment and with the virus on the rise again in Europe that’s Is looking as if that could stay in place longer . Things of course could change . Lawson is the obvious choice and he will be available each meeting as Riss could have major travel problems and not be available each meeting and in all honesty I’d thought a Brit should be employed first .

Eastbourne Seagulls v Kent Royals is now a standalone fixture at Arlington Stadium on Saturday, June 19 (7.30pm) + MSDL second-half. Adults and concessions: £10. Children (5-15): £5; Under 5s: Free. Tickets launching soon. Ten quid speedway. Eastbourne do it again. Proud to be an Eastbourne Speedway supporter as the club is increasingly setting the standard. Loads of news online and social media every week during the pandemic, social media is often every day. Four editions so far of a wonderful online FREE magazine, Flying High, and a fifth on the way. Plenty of publicity for the club in the local media, both online, in print and on TV and radio. Online ticketing facility already up and running with tickets for first two matches on sale. Feels to me as if it is Eastbourne which is the pacesetter these days. People says promoters should promote – well that's exactly what the Eastbourne management are doing. Well done.

So what are they classing as the ‘ juniors ‘ in this scenario ? National League riders ? MDL/NJL riders ? or have they a box of brand new juniors ready to ride one or two rides a week or 4 possibly 5 matches ( 10 rides ? ) this season ? Sounds like they have just come up with a new name for something that already existed at most tracks to me only vastly watered down.

Yes allowed to travel if its their employment as long as all covid rules are followed

Wouldn’t be the first time a promotion/team has been shafted and snubbed by the BSPA (BSPL) once they have decided to go against the grain and ‘gone rogue’. Hopefully that won’t be the case this time and there can be at least one meeting at Somerset this year.

It Seems clear that Barry Bishop is positive & has the desire for speedway to continue on the IoW. I'm sure he is aware of the current issues, but he is looking to start in a league that may start in May/June. A lot can & will change between then & now. Good luck to him & I hope it can prove successful

Have you been to any speedway meetings in the last 10 years? There was this thing called the Midland Development League

A Brit would be employed first if they got rid of Proctor Unsure on the travel restrictions but thought sportsmen could travel with tests etc.If they can't then that would be a blow to all clubs as many have riders riding elsewhere in Europe too.

The announcement is not even sure how many races will make up each fixture. Surely they should have sorted out how many riders are in a team and the race format before making the announcement?

Garry May has already confirmed Somerset are able and willing to run the Pairs - but depends if they are offered the chance to do so.

A Covid guest rider signed by a club can ONLY ride and replace a team rider who has been diagnosed as having Covid. A Warsaw contract rider can ride for the team he has signed a contract with but is also allowed to move clubs at any time. The 8 and 16 are U 23 and can only replace 1-5 team members unless the 8 /16 is Polish U 21 and then could replace 6/7 and 14/15.

Utter rubbish. Have you ever been involved in riders wage negotiations ? Whoever the rider is , at whatever position, he will be after the best deal he can get and the promoter will try and get him at the lowest rate he can get, that’s human nature. All riders and promoters talk, they all know what the going rate is so no one gets hoodwinked. Reserves will get reserves rates.

No rearranged to start in May and finish in October

You rightly quote a real world situation....but speedway lives in a parallel universe where promoters can't see beyond their own stadium's car park, let alone what's going on in foreign countries So does any of this actually surprise you?

Regarding James Wright. I saw it at the Ben fund on his come back last year For me he was the most impressive rider on show. A gamble worth taking
