6 pointsThing is the growth has to start somewhere and many tracks back in the day were in the middle of fields with poor access and the sites build and develop slowly as you progress... Rob Godfrey has developed Scunthorpe over the years into a good venue now and that didn't happen over night and remember back to when they first took over that site... it was pretty basic to say the least... The question is would the discerning fans of Workington be happy (at first hopefully) watching an NDL side perform along the lines of how Mildenhall or the Isle of Wight have done as we all know in this sport numbers are critical for running a successful team... there is always a break even point... Last time I had a look down just before the Christmas lock down there were tons of muck piled around the place that had been excavated out and just as many piles of shale from the old DP site ready I assume to go back down and it looked like a moon scape! well even more like a moon scape than it usually does if you could get gypsies and travellers on the moon!!! Good luck to them and if/when it comes back all they will need are fans through the turnstiles... the other thing is if they don't run a league team of some description there will be a fantastic training track down there to bring the young kids on... so a win win for Workington for me... Regards THJ

3 pointsAs an away supporter I've been disappointed that car park charges apply when it is then followed by a walk of the distance that is needed to get to the track. I'm currently able to do it and feel extremely disappointed for those less physically able who want their Speedway fix. This situation is greatly compounded by this current Blue Badge status. Having assisted friends who are wheelchair bound to attend speedway meetings I have been amazed by the differing facilities and support offered at speedway tracks over the years. For this to happen in 2021 is an embarrassment at both a Peterborough level and BSPL overall. A thumbs up to those who have kept this topic live. A thumbs down to those who can get it sorted and haven't.

2 pointsIf there is a new rule they should come out and say there’s a new rule as it’s overshadowing Danno’s Signing !
-
2 pointsSince Louis started late in life, that's very impressive
-
1 pointExactly, Verge is signed on a 2-year deal. And, if he is an Eastbourne rider, he would not be a guest if he was brought in. A guest is only when a rider is contracted elsewhere and Verge isn't so Eastbourne could use him for any missing rider.

1 pointI think Godfrey is going to find a way to make Bradley Wilson Dean fit ( altering the rules ) if not think he will look abroad to be honest !

1 pointso who do we really think could be coming in . with no riders fitting the average available think we could be well under the limit. if so would like to see connor mountain given a go.
-
1 pointThere's no squad system. And guests are only allowed for missing No.1's this year. So if Atkins was missing, he can only be replaced by R/R or a 3.00 rider, and Verge is way above being a 3.00 rider.

1 pointI can't escape the feeling that a portion of this is driven by jealousy of what the IOW have been doing in terms of promoting "outside the box" as it were.

1 pointjust to clarify. The MSDL gives more rides and varied format than the NJL (which also does a great job) with same 2 meeting each other only. Most MDL/ SDL/ MSDL also have 125s /250's doing 2 or 3 rides but not on a points basis. The NJL format was looked at by the MSDL but at that time the 125 scene was highly Northern based and the decision was made to continue with the format . So in essence the 500's used may have used riders who came through the British Youth system but not solely as some clubs helped bring on the 125/250 lads until they moved to 500's and will continue to do so giving them valuable track time . Not every club followed this but ones that did can claim they helped develop them and the move to 500's was the natural progression. The important thing is that the would be superstars of the future get track time and both the MDL and NJL have brought on many riders who have moved on to the bigger leagues and long may that continue.

1 pointDon't think you're being negative, it always seems to be the norm at Kent with high prices. Would think it guarantees a virtually non existent crowd for NL meetings.

1 pointAs im already tarred as too negative it won't matter. £15 for this level of NDL is a pi$$ take and i will be taking my money to Eastbourne / Mildenhall

1 pointThe Jawa DOHC unit was very top heavy & did'nt suit the more light weight riders.

1 pointI have just spoke to them and they have confirmed they are showing the matches live, starting Sunday 4th April Not sure why they aren’t showing the matches scheduled for Saturday 3/4/21 or, if those two matches have been cancelled ive just spoken to them again and they are showing 72 live matches from 4/4/21 and, also showing the Swedish meetings from may onwards. if you had a subscription last year but cancelled it at the end of the season. When you subscribe, go onto the promo code section and enter : SPEEDWAY2021 ( type speedway in capital letters). this will get you a 12 month subscription for £80 instead of £120 only negative being that it’s a one-off, upfront payment for the entire £80 hope this helps everyone

1 pointYes Belle Vue/Redcar So slightly smaller than Belle Vue but same shape No it belongs to the council Yes there is the site itself is huge; they aren't using the Northside track its marked out separate from that one

1 pointapologies for not finding the negative - will try harder in future. A competition - no matter how limited - has been announced which will provide extra track time for those riders who want to, and can, utilise it. Potentially the weather, injuries and delays in the preceding main meeting may restrict or even lead to the cancellation of these races. Alternatively they may not. These opportunities did not exist in previous seasons. It seems like a good thing ... you and many others may disagree. The World might end tonight (or on any subsequent night ... or day) - which could lead to the postponement of the Premiership Junior League. Then again it might not.

1 pointTaking the EoES out of it because it was a club decision to remove a working system that had been in place for the best part of 20 seasons for their disabled customers, here's the potential discrimination for you to see: - indirect discrimination - putting rules or arrangements in place that apply to everyone, but that put someone with a protected characteristic (ie disability) at an unfair disadvantage. It has to be said that they are probably legally entitled to do what they've done with good justification (not that I'm sure that it'd be a legal matter anyway?). I doubt that their current explanation would win the day if it ever came to that, which it will not. I remember Jim Lynch threatening to take the EoES to court when Mercer arrived at the EoES as CEO and threw the disabled out. That probably put the rent up a few hundred quid. If the club are happy to take the hit of losing paying customers and resulting poor public relations at this time in particular then more fool them perhaps!

1 pointThing is it's a training league whether people like it or not and taking time off work for midweek matches is how speedway runs. If it can't be done at NDL level unfortunately you won't manage at championship level either .agreed some will fall by the wayside and others will progress for a multitude of reasons . Those who can fund the development won't leave because of this it will be other influences
