Pathetic. Get a kebab in you.

The football club was desperately trying to find money from anywhere at the time - developers, finance firms and the usual shysters. I'm sure they would have taken the odd million off the Hams if they'd offered. To try and pass that off as "another huge missed opportunity for speedway" is fanciful to say the least and along the lines of the "John Berry would have saved speedway if they hadn't stopped him". Just good old fashioned bit of idle speculation based on unattributed whispers, tales and hearsay. The only thing missing is facts.

You have to remember presenting and commentating are pretty hard things to do, nevermind having a clear voice and knowledge of what you're talking about.. Try and make a 90 second speech without hesitating or umming and ahhing, while someone is garbling away in your ear about this and that.

Disgraceful comment. Spurs Son nearly lost his life with a flick on the cheek 2 weeks ago

I can't be doing with all the messing about online to find a stable stream... and if and when you do, there's a couple of Polish blokes jibbering away in the background. I'll put this one down to experience and not bother again in the future I think (hope) when Speedway in this country is back to "normal"

Eyes peeled tonight at 7pm for the big one! Our 7th and final rider of the Redcar Agilia Bears 2021 team will be revealed

Surely the admission price can’t be increased. A team with only one heat leader , Lambert replaced by Bridger can’t justify a increase.

Have they finished putting that roof on yet?

No one wants or needs your support ... Anti Greyhounds Racing group wont carry any weight or support if swindon ever needed a new site to race speedway another fact that is lost on you .. / Your sole aim is stop Greyhound racing and if means the speedway closing down as well so be it ...if you had a choice between having Greyhounds and Speedway running together or the Stadium being close down so Greyhound racing stopped and speedway was no more you would choose the latter so dont make out your any friend of speedway .

Like I and others have pointed out. Maybe look back at your last couple of posts and see they don’t really make sense unless we have a promoter who is willing to live in a fantasy world and has money to burn

With your estimated crowd figure and the rumoured cost of rent you expect the ‘ promoter ‘ to pay his running costs including riders wages, ref, maintenance costs and staff out off around £3,000 of left over income and still have a profit with no extra coming from food or drink outlets ? Think again....

The track record at Exeter was 72.0 set by Goog Hoskin on 7th September 1953, equalled by Barry Briggs on 18th April 1958. The Provincial League track record throughout 1962, as recorded in meeting programmes, was 73.4 by Jack Scott on 19th June 1961. Len Silver's time in heat 4 on 2nd July 1962 was 77.4, not 72.4 as shown on the Speedway Researcher website (72.4 would have been 5 seconds faster than the next best time in that meeting!) Ross Gilbertson set a new PL record of 73.0 on 9th September 1963. In 1965 Exeter decided that a new British League record would be established and the first one shown in the programme was 75.2 by Jack Biggs on 12th April 1965. This was beaten by Goog Allan with 75.0 on 27th April 1965, with this time equalled by Jimmy Squibb on 3rd May. However, Colin Gooddy recorded 74.8 then 74.2 in the same meeting on 3rd May 1965. Reg Luckhurst reduced this to 73.2 on 10th May 1965 (he did not equal a previous record). Trevor Hedge lowered the BL record further on 14th June 1965 to 72.8, which also bettered Gilbertson's PL record time. An incredible ride by Igor Plechanov on 12th July 1965 set an all time record of 71.4.

Wimbledon were National League champions in 1954, 1955, 1956, 1958, 1959, 1960 and 1961. Swindon won the title in 1957, with Wimbledon third behind Belle Vue. The big difference for Wimbledon in 1957 was the absence of Ronnie Moore. He returned in 1958 and normal service was resumed. Peter Moore also left Wimbledon on loan to Ipswich in 1957 and although Split Waterman was brought in he was released halfway through the season after a reported difference of opinion with the management. The Swindon team had won the league in 1957 by having a very solid team, with no real weak links. In 1958 Ken Middleditch had retired, then Bob Roger suffered a season-ending head injury early on, with the team generally below par compared with the year before.

I just think Twitter is a farce. There is so much abuse on their, mostly posted by unidentifiable people, and this abuse then gets posted as a story in Daily Newspapers. (Fans unhappy about... etc) I'm pretty convinced that most if this stuff is posted by journalists with fake accounts so that they can then criticise people and report on it as if it is a balanced report with quotes when they are merely quoting themselves. As for a 4 day boycott by the sporting world, big deal. Nobody will even hardly notice. If people are genuinely fed up with the abuse they get on Social Media, the answer is simple. Don't go on it.

Don't make any apologies for having an opinion mate. The social media "blackout" is just token bandwagon jumping. Some things do get very personal on here I agree and the perpetrators are a small minority of keyboard warriors. Criticism is a good thing as long as it's constructive. Everyone is entitled to their opinion but it is becoming the norm now that you are not allowed to have one unless it is the correct one and on the approved playlist. Unfortunately everything now has to be this sugar coated world of unicorns and rainbows.

I wonder if the percentage of pillocks in the country overall is the same percentage as on the forum, or do you think speedway attracts a higher ratio?

Typical keyboard warrior, will send THJ to have a word with him. He sorted another pillock on here out lol

Have massive respect for the Mancs, probably the most successful team in history, and like the Wolves seem to have been around from day 1. Peter Craven was my first shale hero. Surprised they havent won the League since 93. Not as bad as Spurs though! Enjoyed my visit with Swindon to Vue around 2004, good fans apart from a couple of those mouthy Madchester Mexicans.

This Geoff guy seems a right pillock.

Honestly Geoff, just STFU you are getting worse and im embarrassed to be associated with you at belle vue whats strange is your actually a decent guy so not sure what makes you turn into a right little weasle on a forum. can you remember the last time we won a league trophy........... 1993, yes 1993 so we are the last bunch of fans that should be revelling in another clubs troubles so pipe down and become the man you are that we see at the track

The Birmingham track record of 69.6 established by Alan Hunt, Dan Forsberg and Split Waterman on the old tyre was never beaten and remained in the programme until final closure in 1960. No alternative record times were ever shown in the programmes. Coventry programmes continued to show the record of 66.4 set by Ken McKinlay on 22nd September 1954, with the 1956 programmes stating it was established using the old tyre, until a new record was set by Per Olof Söderman using the smaller tyre on 8th September 1956.

Not to fussed on where the diamonds finish hopefully not bottom & all riders provide entertainment as it can't be as bad as NUFC

Other than the thread having the word random in it I would disagree "Post a heat of speedway off YouTube etc! Doesn't have to be a clasic. Don't give away the result of that race! If we want to know, we'll have to watch it (unless obvious)."
