Don't know why people are complaining about paying £15 for the stream, you either pay or don't, 4 of us traveled up from Workington, probably at a cost of £50 each by the time you paid admission, program food and petrol thoroughly enjoyed the racing, we could have paid for the stream and sat at home, but watching speedway on the terraces is miles better

I don’t think Tom went down on purpose. Us Monarchs get a bit edgy at heat 15 deciders. We don’t call it binning it in these parts - it’s called doing The Pontus.

There is no such rule of a NL guest - “no facility” rule is a rider minus 25% of the missing riders average. However a facility is granted for circumstances of that riders wedding - maybe the last being Simon Lambert. Precedent is set and thereby Glasgow applied for a facility which has been granted. My main gripe is more to do with the “apparently” word used in the press release. Can you imagine if he wasn’t getting married and we applied to get one - then I’d expect us to be thrown out of the competition.

Wouldn't it be interesting if there was a speedway equivalent of the Champions League? Poland's champions Wroclaw riding against Britain's champions would be a very close affair over two legs.

British speedway fans. Absolutely no pleasing them. It's Glasgow in October ffs of course there's going to be rain about. Delays were completely unavoidable so all this could've finished is nonsense

They want Poole to step up, give them Weds nights!!

The whole situation is a result of weak governance, nothing will change until that is sorted.

I feel the Championship needs to be weaker, 1) to encourage the likes of Poole / Glasgow / Leicester to step up 2) to shorten the difference between Champ & NDL for riders trying to step up! At the moment riders can score maximums at NDL level but not score a point in the Champ! Makes it tough to know if you are good enough to step up! 3) if it makes the Champ a cheaper league to run - bonus!

Edinburgh have pulled equally iffy tricks in the past I’d say. It does make a bit of a mockery of things though. That said Heeps has a low average this season for a reason and might not fly out the traps as he’s bound to be a little rusty. It still strengthens the Tigers though no doubt - big night for Drew (again).

I dont know , the lengths some people will go to - to avoid riding at Armadale . Britain's premier erm technical track .

Possibly is... I dont understand how all these Visas work. The sooner we reunite pangea the better I think...

Shush now. Don’t you be going spoiling a dirty great conspiracy theory with the truth. Next you’ll be saying he was at Armadale last weekend ready to race, only to be thwarted by the rain…..

Blobby is hurting let’s tread carefully. Thought we could have got better than Cameron Heeps , I’m sure with our influence we could have swayed Scott Nicholls.

The thing the Panthers need to be a little careful of next season, is a few of their riders have slightly over inflated averages having had a high scoring stint at reserve. Get the second RS rider right though, and you will start off with a decent team,,, but maybe a team that won't have much as much improvement in it as others.

Did nobody clock the crowds at Belle Vue and Peterboro last week? These massive roll-ups will have doubled, even trebled, the respective promotions' revenue over a regular meeting. Similarly, what about the huge interest in the soccer play-offs each year as clubs battle for promotion in their various leagues? Or the full-house attendances at ice-hockey play-offs at Nottingham every season? The revenue from being involved in play-offs is a massive boost to any club's financial year, and in some cases could make a difference between failing or surviving. Regardless of the "fairness" of it, they are here to stay, and the season-long league table is a qualification process, no more, no less. It is up to the promotions at every track to make their regular matches bright and entertaining enough to keep them close to their budget, while aiming for a shot at glory in the play-offs to put icing on the cake. Yes, speedway is a sport. It is also a business. Run a straightforward league with only one winner and see if you can stay in business. Money talks.

Why not have the play-offs at the start of the season, than have the league to see who should've won?

What's the difference ray c ? Same riders in both league's apart from a few . And it costs a lot more to ride in the so called premiership, so I understand Poole staying where they are, more teams in the championship.

Strange isn't it,, a professional sport where the manager doesn't get paid. Although I'm sure a few do and have done at some clubs. I bet the tea lady is getting top dollar though

A different type of fruit,, some think he is a total plum

Again, for me, it comes down to the misguided belief that fans will just turn up and watch what the promoter has decided that they want to watch.. In my opinion the old National League with a decent number one is the level that the sport should run with in this country.. A "National League Plus" or a "Championship League Minus" being the perfect structure for the fan base numbers that attend... Promoters' egos might say one thing.. But ultimately, attendance levels suggest another, and that is the barometer that should be used.. Get down to the base level, make it work, and build up from there....

Who are Glasgow meeting in the playoffs? They are still waiting to find out who their opponents will be! Similarly they have been waiting since the summer to find out their semi final ko Cup opponents thanks to Birmingham cancelling their fixture with Edinburgh at short notice. Finally the GB meeting is being held on a night that is not their normal or alternative race night. Get a life!
