That confuses me even more: 1) I can't believe they only gave Klindt 4 matches 2) I can't believe they didn't think to sign Riss for Kerr & if after 5 weeks Klindt hasn't picked up his scoring then 3) I can't believe with 7.44 available to replace Klindt, Riss is the best they can come up with 4) I can believe, but kinda disappointed the BSPL / SCB allowed Oxford to drop Klindt because they'd prefer to use guests

That seems bonkers. Losing a rider because of injury or whatever reason should inevitably make your team weaker, that is the reality of it. Unfortunately they have now created a scenario where not only are you no longer weaker but you are actually far stronger. When riding at home with no logical reason using maths and statistics, you can get a guest with a higher percentage average than the missing rider. We now even have a scenario at Oxford where they’ve sacked and replaced a rider in Klindt, for Riss whilst keeping an injured rider in the side. There is no way that the league should of accepted that redecoration and the use of guests like Nicholls now.

Nobody has ever said Tate or the fin were no hopers if anything people have praised those signings. So bit of a Strange comment.

I really do hope he going to go on the straight and narrow now, not sticking up for him or justifying his crime in any way but he is not the first rider to attack and I use the term lightly another person and return to racing although the others may have escaped a prison sentence for their crime, anyway not sure how fans would react to him but in garrity’s world if anything can rehabilitate him it’s speedway, if that fails for him, I fear the worst

I believe you either have a rehabilitation system, or you don't.. If Garrity's main way of earning money was as a plumber would he never be allowed to do it again.? Having employed ex cons, part of their release agreement can be restorative justice whereby they meet up with their victims and agree to give them recompense over time for their actions, and it is built into their wages received when they start work.. (Obviously this is led by the victim and doesn't always happen, but maybe in his case it has?).. To have anyone saying "I will never go again" though is crackers... If you have a flood at your home and are ankle deep in water, and an ex con turns up who you know has commited a violent crime, would you turn him away ? I am no bleeding heart liberal at all, but you either have a system that rehabilitate's and your slate is then clean when your time is served.. Or you don't...

The other aspect is they have to be able to take up gainful employment otherwise society will be end-up paying more for them on dole. There's no aspect of the crime being related to speedway, unlike say a convicted child abuser working in a school, so don't really see the issue with working again in speedway. Pretty unpleasant and nasty criminal I think we can agree, but hopefully some lessons have been learned and is now a reformed character. As the sentence was over 4 years, I think that's not an automatic halving and requires some sort of good behaviour and approval of the Parole Board for release. And of course will still be out on licence.

No they don’t. The technology that the BSPL invested in isn’t robust and needs further work so not in use at present.

As Riss could replace Kerr, meaning Oxford would no longer need a guest, I would support a ruling where Oxford were not allowed to drop Klindt & still use a guest for Kerr.

That's the problem with many speedway promoters / fans etc. They act like if you are weakened by injury that's a disaster & shouldn't be allowed. To me that should be expected & accepted.

One is in a wheelchair. One is in disgrace through drugs.

Totally agree - completely ridiculous to be able make this change and still use a guest It seems to be one step forward and two back in the attempt to get the sport back from the brink when something like this is allowed to happen

I still don't get why Plymouth keep using second strings at No1? Zach might have been testing things for when we go there. But I would have thought Poole would want Oxford to lose? Edit - plus this is why you don't use guests from your own group!

Is this your own personal opinion? Just checking.

I think it's because Leicester were weakened last year when Morris got banned & they had to use r/r. Then at the AGM the other promoters probably thought "that could happen to me" so they voted for more guests allowed.

I wasn't surprised by Oxford's heavy away loss at Poole, but expected then to be fine at home. Great effort by Plymouth, who won't be as bad as many think they are.

And get riders taking guest bookings and scoring nothing so it then lowers their average? That would be a daft idea.
  18. 1 point
Not really sure why they've started dishing out guests for second strings, that's what R/R is for I'd have thought.

According to the BSPL site Dan got 21 paid 24 (from 10 rides). He must be cream crackered. It was especially good seeing as how he seems to have got a 5-1 all on his own in heat 12. Edit: They've corrected the error now (maybe we're read, more than we think!)

Great to see Dan and Joe thriving after the rotten treatment they got last year. Fantastic climax, milking the VAR for all it was worth. But as a Cheetahs fan the Oxford line up looks a bit flabby.

Surely the justice system is there to punish those who deserve it. Once they've served this aren't they then given the chance to resume their place in society or should they continue to be punished for the rest of their lives? (And please don't think I'm condoning his past actions)

I wonder how many "amateurs" turn out in meetings having taken medicines, smoked or drunk alcohol days before a meeting.

Hope you people in the 'Cancel Culture' don't do anything wrong or you might end up with people trying to cancel you.

With both clubs being Friday night clubs , and with both BSN group matches needing to be restaged. I was wondering if both meetings could be ran on the same day , I.e . a Sunday , like we used to do with Newcastle

    Forecast has gone rather grim!
