  11. Some bad news to start this season's news from Slovenian speedway. Both meetings scheduled for this weekend (Pairs cup, Ljubljana 30.3. and National championship round 1, Krsko 31.3.) have been postponed due too bad weather conditions and forecast. The long winter just doesn't want to go away and we had another 15 centimetres of snow this week. Plus, heavy rain is forecast for the next 3 days.

  14. And here I start with the 2012 edition of Slovenian speedway news. Main rules and calendar for 2012 season have been discussed and fixed yesterday in Lendava, Slovenia, where the representatives of Slovenia, Croatia, Czech republic, Slovakia and Hungary met. * Senior championship continues with the cooperation of Slovenia and Croatia. A/B group format will again be used and in case there is not enough riders from these two countries, the lineups will be filled with riders from Czech republic, Slovakia, Hungary and Slovenia. * Junior championship continues with the cooperation of Slovenia, Croatia and Hungary (Gyula) and Austria will join this competition next year. The Austrians will stage one meeting (Natschbach) and two Austrian riders will participate in all 6 rounds of the championship * Team cup continues with the cooperation of Slovenia, Croatia, Czech republic and Slovakia. As some of the countries lack riders (Croatia, Slovakia) it was decided to use the format with two teams and 5 riders per team (similar to the Danish league) Here is also the calendar: Senior championship (SLO-HR) 8.4. 18. Here are the official results from yesterday's meeting In Ljubljana. There were some mistakes on the live updates site, for which we apologize. There were many tactical substitutions and also some unclear decisions from the referee, which made it hard to follow the meeting. It was quite an entertaining meeting, with the biggest crowd we've had in Ljubljana in the last 5+ years. US team was a deserved winner with all 4 riders scoring throughout the meeting. The home team was trying its best, using substitions and a joker, but they just weren't good enough. For the third year in a row, Slovenia misses the World Cup by 5 or less points. USA 44 1.
