I wouldn’t be surprised if Perks and Ayres both fail to beat any Wolves riders all night. A couple of our heat leaders will probably have a good night though and keep it to within about 10-12 points. Expect customary Robins away score of Wolves 50 Robins 40

Premiership- Swindon Robins v Ipswich Witches. 04/07/19.

Can anybody explain why we are not using Anders Rowe at number 7 ahead of Kurtz? His scores for Somerset have been better than Kurtz and why not pick a young asset? -
Swindon v Belle Vue. Thursday 27/09/18.
mcnabadam replied to Sidney the robin's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
One of the most miserable nights I've ever had at speedway. Rossiter urging fans to support the club and turn up to this dead rubber had the desired affect and a more than decent crowd. To be honest he and they didn't deserve it. The most processional night of racing dragged out by constant delays at the start line for no apparent reason. Frustrated riders touching the tapes, when they did get going Swindon riders consistently trailing in the wake of the Belle Vue riders. The away side won at a canter such was the lack of effort from the Swindon riders. Can't remember hardly any passing apart from Musielak, who is the one Swindon rider who has consistently tried hard this season. Interviews at the end with the riders all saying the same thing, they were "disappointed" but "that's the way it is". Could have been a different story if Rossiter made team changes when it became obvious they would never win away and thus didn't have a hope of making the play offs. Would've loved a colourful firework display as was always the tradition at the end of the season but none of course. If this turns out to be the last ever meeting at Swindon then they went out with a whimper rather than a bang. Rossiter was "disappointed" but hey, ho, "that's the way it is". Oh and I'll be more than happy if I never hear those AC/DC, Van Halen et al tracks they always play ever again. -
How is it "crap" and being a "troll" when someone attempts to make constructive suggestions on how we might improve the team and give ourselves a chance of making the play-offs? Surely that is the kind of thing that creates debate which is what a forum is for. Is it absurb to suggest the introduction of Pieszczek and a stronger reserve or are we happy to let the season just drift away? I'm a Robins fan and I want us to make the play-offs! Any suggestions on what we should do for the rest of the season A Orlov?

25•07•18 - Premiership - Kings Lynn v Swindon -

It is a good idea but only if: 1. there is a decent reserve available to replace Jack Smith 2. the extra cost of Pieszccek signing does not exceed the revenue to be made from the play-offs -
You're right Racer, no changes = no play offs this year. But at least we've been loyal to our riders!
-
Morris' last six away scores have been 6, 6, 4, 7, 1, 7. I think Pieszczek could match that. I agree about loyalty being important but is it more important than gambling on a title challenge this year?
-
From Monday night's programme Morris says: "We've been doing alright in England for a while but no done a lot in Poland and Europe but this year I've been racing every week in Poland and been going good so that's the path. Hopefully we can move up to the First Division with the same team Rzeszow for next season"
-
If we are serious about retaining the title then action has to be taken now. Morris should be dropped and Pieszczek brought in. He's quite capable of having the "Musielak 2017" effect. This will then free up 4.14 for a replacement for Smith and create room for someone like Berge instead. It is vital to replace Smith, he is completely out of his depth and having a six man team for the rest of the season is like throwing in the towel. Morris' form for Swindon has been very patchy of late and clearly gives the impression he is not interested in riding British speedway any more. Not just with his comments on tv but in his demeanour in the post match press conferences and as he said in Monday nights match programme "The path is Poland, Sweden, and the Grand Prix series. But one step at a time, crack Poland first though". Our true number one this season is Bachelor anyway and he can step up to this race jacket no problem.

We should have signed Michael Palm Toft, underrated and great at Swindon, instead of Bellego at the start of the season. Would've then meant a stronger reserve could've come in to partner Zach. Needing a 2 point reserve all season is really going to cost us big time.

Swindon End Of Era Meeting.

I used to love watching Phil Crump riding for the Robins at the Abbey. Think my favourite occasion was the old pre-meeting Golden Helmet contest against Peter Collins. Phil romped home against the odds to the roar of "There's only one PC" from the bar. Loads of disgruntled Aces fans there. Great days! -
Great news. Plenty of riders available to them. Swindon have quite a few useful assets who will be looking for a new club. Oh, and Troy as well!

Posf2 - Swindon Robins Vs Belle Vue Aces 21 September 2015
mcnabadam replied to Steve0's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
Sadly, Robins are too weak at reserve to pull back the deficit. I don't think Lewis Rose has had one good meeting all season -
I think Batchelor is the problem for Robins. Seems only interested in himself and, as others have alluded to, doesn't try when at the back. If his own performance is poor then he just sulks, you won't see him on the parade then, even if we win. I can't imagine him helping the FTD riders, yet this is our captain. We should never have chosen him over Doyle who is a great team man and tougher character. It amazes me that we are getting rid of either Zengi or Kyle, when both have exceeded expectations of themselves. Bachelor should go and we should bring in Darcy and have plenty of points left for another new rider.

i have a feeling I saw him beat Leigh Adams at Swindon that same season, was amazed at how good he was at 16.
