Poole Pirates Vs Oxford Cheetahs BSN Good Friday
lisa-colette replied to Shaleshifter's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
Yep, no filter when it comes to talking about Plymouth! -
Yeah exactly my point, thanks. So perfect time to have a meeting against them! Duh. Try reading before attacking, but I know that is asking a lot!!
-
Not sure the Birmingham riders got the memo about struggling! Although tbh perfect time to ride against Sheffield, they haven't really got going yet. Also good to read on speedway updates that they have got a big crowd in.

Poole Pirates Vs Oxford Cheetahs BSN Good Friday
lisa-colette replied to Shaleshifter's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
Most Championship clubs were charging £20 last season, whereas Poole was £19. So am surprised there is a debate about it (we are just catching up!) Maybe they need the extra pound from everyone to cover costs more. They said publicly that season tickets have been going really well, so maybe not that much picking and choosing! -
Seems to be a lot of individuals. So be interesting to see how they get on especially with team riding. Hopefully Darcy has emphasised it to Tate as he was always really good at that from a young age.

Plymouth Gladiators 2024

It's a shame the race night has moved in a way as might have been able to get someone like Rew (unless he is doing Sweden this year). -

Not when mugging an elderly lady at knife point he doesn't. Have to be absolutely crazy to put him anywhere speedway again imo. Although if he does sign for Plymouth when they are at Poole, the Police station is near the entrance to the stadium, so he won't have far to go if he does anything! -
We need Davina McCall when Tai is about to start talking " you are live on (whenever the location is) please DO NOT swear..."

Exactly! If anyone wants to annoy Tai, just ignore everything he says, he'd hate that! Just don't let him wind you up.

Oxford vs Sheffield - Thursday 21st March
lisa-colette replied to Bojangles's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
Only the HLs haven't. The rest would have been to Oxford last couple of years in the Championship. The Holder's have watched it at Oxford though when helping Zach occasionally in 2022. -
Peter Craven Memorial Trophy - Monday 18th March.

For me I compared it to the Championship meetings that are streamed, which last season were £11.99. So there is zero chance they will stream this field at the same price or cheaper with more races as well! I also don't think you can compare it to football streams as the demand is so much more for them so can make it cheaper and still make a profit. Maybe compare it to cinema prices at peak times then definitely a bargain! lol -

Good meeting I thought. Especially for the BV riders! Ben Cook certainly on form from the off this season. -

More demand for football ones though, so easy for them to make a profit charging less. Even Championship speedway streams are £11.99 -

I thought it was quite fair. If you think Leicester are changing £12.99 for a league meeting. £14.99 for an individual meeting with 20 heats and SF and final, is good value imo. -
Not really. It won't be set up as the home riders want it. Although good riders should adapt quickly.
-
Why does it matter that Oxford are new to the league? Most of the riders would have been there in the Championship anyway. Well apart from Magic! Oh and Tungate and Klindt lol

POOLE PIRATES TV 2023 REWIND STREAMS

Correct. Don't think BSN will put their meetings on YT though! Although if @Gazc streamed it on the night he might be able to watch it back anyway. -
Leicester v Belle Vue Thursday 14th March
lisa-colette replied to Aries's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
Also Oxford don't seem to like an early call off (based on last couple of seasons). Which sometimes means a half 7 call off which can upset some fans depending on how far they travel. But a lot of time they get meetings on when others probably would have called it off. It seems a lot of teams decide things on the forecast, where Oxford tend to keep it on until the track is under water. I assume they have a good base or drainage which can take a bit of water. -
Leicester v Belle Vue Thursday 14th March
lisa-colette replied to Aries's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
Yes but they struggle to fit everything in before end of October, so need to start a bit earlier! -
Why would anyone moan about the price? Last season Championship streaming was £11.99 so only £1 more!

Leicester Lions 2024
lisa-colette replied to Barrow Boy 2's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
Yeah exactly. If it is a private letter should stay that way imo. If I wrote a letter to anyone I wouldn't expect to find it quoted on a forum without my permission. Same with PMs. -

Plymouth Gladiators 2024

I wonder if Plymouth are going to get Mark Clattenburg at some meetings to say 'Gladiators ready!...' before each race. I would pay to watch that! -
https://www.poole-speedway.com/news/view/2022-07-05-pirates-set-to-complete-away-league-programme The Pirates are scheduled to complete their away league programme this coming weekend with back to back meetings against northern sides Edinburgh and Berwick. Currently in a position that sees them stretching to grab hold of an automatic play-off semi-final claim, the defending champions will be hoping to keep the travelling league points flowing. Only once this season have they left a venue, other than Wimborne Road, without any reward for their efforts - when, at the beginning of May, they were soundly defeated at Plymouth. Regular team manager Neil Middleditch will be hoping that his northern stand-in, former world champion Gary Havelock, can maintain his record and ensure the Pirates return with something to show from these final two fixtures. With the Pirates having collected their first victory in four matches on Wednesday when they defeated the Chris Harris-led Berwick Bandits, Middleditch has assessed his side's recent form claiming, "Our biggest problem lately has been that we've not been making the starts and that has just made it hard work for ourselves, especially over the first few heats. We need to get that sorted, especially in the early part of the meetings. We need to make those starts and get the advantage so that, if they have got to make a tactical, they make it early, and then we can get on with the meeting. Philosophically, 'Middlo', who will be watching the Pirates progress this weekend on the BSN Livestream service as both fixtures are being covered, insists Poole's hopes of defending their crown are, however, not totally reliant on this weekend's results. "Obviously it is a long way to go, and to come back with nothing wouldn't be ideal so there is no doubt we will be looking to try and get a couple of wins under our belt, especially as we are keen to try and secure one of the top two places, which would see us go directly into the semi-final places. Our recent dip in form has made achieving that a little bit harder , but, whilst I know the lads will be determined to go out and get the best possible results, we just need to make sure that, at the very minimum we reach the play-offs come the end of the season. Then anything can happen. We have seen it before that teams can win titles from just getting in the play-offs. We have done that ourselves before and of course we have been on the other end of topping the table but losing the title, so we have to remember there is a lot of speedway still to come this year. Nothing has been won at this stage." The mini-tour takes the Pirates to two venues where the current league pacesetters - Leicester and Glasgow - have both recorded victories at. The weekend action begins on Friday (July 8th) at the Armadale venue in the Scottish capital, the present home, until the end of the season, of the Edinburgh Monarchs, who have just revealed plans for a new community based stadium to be built in the Livingstone area. Around Armadale, the Monarchs' number one, Sam Masters, has been in imperious form of late, where he has suffered just one race defeat by an opponent in his last twenty rides and they have recently welcomed back both Lasse Fredriksen and James Sarjeant from injury lay-offs to become a full-strength side again. Although the Pirates managed to inflict an eight-point home win over the Monarchs on June 1st, that victory came just prior to the three meetings in which they failed to secure a victory, a period they ended last Wednesday with a defeat of Berwick, where they head to on Saturday (July 9th). Besides having home defeats inflicted on the by the top two sides, the Bandits have also been beaten at Shielfield Park by the Redcar Bears and the Borders' side, who recently introduced Dane Jonas Knudsen, a rider that caught the eye on Wednesday, currently occupy the basement berth in the league table, after the demise of the near neighbours Newcastle. The Pirates, who do not have a home fixture this week, currently sit in third place, two points behind Glasgow - a side that visits Birmingham (9th) on Wednesday night - and have a three point cushion over west country rivals Plymouth who travel to Oxford (8th) also on Wednesday. The introduction of the new averages for July sees Steve Worrall and Danny King switch places in the team whilst Drew Kemp will move into the number two position and the previous incumbent, Zach Cook, switching to number four as his brother Ben drops into the reserve berth. Weekend Line-ups: Edinburgh: 1 Sam Masters (capt); 2 Lasse Fredriksen; 3. Kye Thomson; 4 Michele 'Paco' Castagna; 5 Josh Pickering; 6 Jacob Hook; 7 James Sarjeant TM Alex Harkess Berwick: To be Confirmed: Poole (both meetings) : 1 Steve Worrall; 2 Drew Kemp; 3 Danny King (capt); 4 Zach Cook; 5 Richard Lawson; 6 Ben Cook; 7 Nathan Ablitt TM Gary Havelock
