Championship Predictions 2024
lisa-colette replied to Bagpuss's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
Good luck! Who do you think they support? As it isn't Poole! lol. -
It always seems to get talked about every winter. Here is the answer from the horses mouth as it were . “I know a few Poole supporters were hoping that we would go up (to the Premiership). “But we’ve already stated our reasons for being in the Championship a million times. Fixed race nights simply don’t work for us at Poole. “A Monday and a Thursday would be a huge financial risk for us. I know there was some comments about that, so I just wanted to address that. https://www.bournemouthecho.co.uk/sport/24025264.danny-ford-oxford-speedway-running-three-teams-2024-season/?ref=suit&utm_source=dlvr.it&utm_medium=twitter

I'd go for Rowe.

Championship Predictions 2024

Just don't see any weak links with Redcar, whereas others have them. Like, Glasgow is the second strings, Plymouth don't have 3 HLs, Oxford and Berwick have a 'weaker' 3rd HL. -

Think they will do it this year imo. -
Championship Predictions 2024

The Oxford one is an interesting one as I know you rate them quite highly. I would have them as a top 3 team. But others aren't including Gavin Parr as he had Poole, Redcar, Glasgow and Scunny as top 4 (don't think it was in that order though!) on the Bears Talk FB live thingy. I would go with atm: Redcar Oxford Poole Scunny Glasgow Berwick Workington Edinburgh Plymouth Feel like the top 5 is relatively easy. But who you leave out of the playoffs in 5th place is a hard decision! -
Team spirit will be.... ... interesting!!
-
7.16 I think.
-
-
Also one of those might be at Edinburgh?
-
Garry May does though!
-
Interesting if true, you would have thought Berwick, Plymouth etc would have taken him on a 5? I would have thought if we were going to have a 5 ish point rider, we would have kept Rowe. Arnie isn't a Poole fan. But you keep bringing up Thomsen, so it is down to you
-
As Arnie says if they do it that way for everyone then fine. But shouldn't be done whichever way fits best. I always thought it was average then minus 2.5% and then round up or down as needed.
-
3.00 minus 2.5% is 2.925 though. So should be rounded up to 2.93?
-
That's true. Let's hope he calculates them well!
-
Yeah, look at Jason Doyle when he was young and at Poole. Always crashing. They just tend to go for gaps maybe they shouldn't. Also remember Batch crashing when he was half a lap ahead!
-
Doesn't matter what he did 5 years ago though. Only matters what he does next year, to me anyway.
-
Make up your mind. So we have Scunny being 4th or 5th and now 3rd. Will they be top tomorrow?
-
Tbf there are other words you could use for that!
-
Prediction thread will be interesting this year, seems to be very level!
-
Ahead of Joe Thompson? I'd be surprised. Should up his average by at least half a point though.
-
Me too, that is the only time I have seen her. Workington have a lot of good individuals. Be interesting to see how they work as a team.
-
He was decent at Poole tbf, so if you want to win there you prob need him....
-
Ha, we will see! Not sure how all these new riders will take to Poole when you're here. But will be interesting to see what happens.
