If the racing is processional, as seems the norm these days, it won't matter if the track is not 4 handlebar-widths wide

    Remarkable scenes!
  4. Remarkable scenes! Mmm! Taxi for Pedersen, men in white coats for Sir Shoutalot!
  5. Speedway's a contact sport! Oh no it's not - it's motor cycle racing If it's a contact sport, why are people complaining about Nicki Pedersen?!

1961-70 - because I could see Craven (all too briefly), Fundin, Knutsson, Briggs, N. Boocock, Mountford, McKinlay, Plechanov, Wembley world finals, Wimbledon FIM Internationales, local riders, 13 heats + 2nd halves, riders in bar after meetings, 6d programmes, a good mix of team and individual events, virtually no guests, . . . . . Age 14-23

Just wondering if there's any good news about Gary Snooks, our former start marshal, sadly missed from track duty?

    Danish Gp 28/6

The daft part is, you could scrape through with 22111=7, come 2nd heat 21, win heat 23, and be crowned GP winner Yes, I know all the riders know that beforehand, but . . . . . Ward at Prague, Batch at Parken! Another lack of credibility - credibility is referred to in another thread about the future of speedway

Put me off speedway for a while, having to put up with that rider at Brandon Attractions like Fundin, Knutsson, Briggs (not a fan), Craven, Penhall, Nielsen, Moran x 2, Mauger, Lee, Collins (Peter), Knudsen, Hamill, Sayfutdinov, Ward, Holder - yes! But not Olsen!

Anyone else think Bachelor should have been the GP winner? Sure, NKI won the scratch race final after the main meeting! But shouldn't the event be 20 heats, 5 rides against all the others, top scorer wins? I think it's a nonsense - and yes, I was made up when Bomber won the final in Cardiff!!! But it doesn't change my feelings

Who'd have thought it? A JJR post edited by LGF!
  15. I previously suggested a return to the old 13 heat matches, plus a full 2nd half, with reserve/no.8 races and the old "Rider of the Night" heats and final accruing points throughout the season as qualification for the end of season League Riders Championship - this would make the 2nd halves more meaningful, climaxed by a final which ought, in theory, to bring the four top riders into contestAnd following on from the recent rain-off shenanigans, there would be more chance of completing a full 13 heat match on rainy evenings - no meetings to be decided over less - and a time limit for matches to be completed (allowing for unavoidable delays)
  16. What occurred with the crash? And what has been tweeted? PLEASE!
  17. I'm sure there'll be two competitive sides involved in a team speedway event at Brandon on Friday With the doubts over the future of the stadium, isn't that exactly what speedway fans want to see? No point staying away - in a couple of years there might not be any to avoid
  18. For those of us whose first language is English, . . . . Threw out? I guess that's predictive text for throughout?

    British Final 2014

No one has said that Nicholls rode Harris to the fence!!! There was contact between the two whilst racing, causing Harris to fall

    British Final 2014

. . . could Harris HAVE stayed on ?? - you know for certain that he could, do you? Harris made a similar move on Saturday at Malilla (AJ I think) but the Swede didn't give him a push and Harris was widely applauded for a fine ride - the difference last night was that Nicholls made contact, causing him to go down - it wasn't a dirty move, just that there was contact No TV coverage of the incident supports any claim that Nicholls did not make contact and he loses a lot of respect for his comments on TV and Twitter

    British Final 2014

Great viewing last night, congratulations to a worthy champion (Tai, not Tia as some seem to call him!) Gutted for Barker who could well have beaten Cook but for his apparent injury Rider of the night, though, clearly was Jason Garrity - well done, sir, and a fine interview too! King unlucky to be discluded early on Nicholls let himself down with his childlike comments regarding Harris, as there was clearly contact on successive bends, and Scott had to go as the cause of Harris falling and the race being halted - I doubt very much riders will take a high speed fall deliberately, other than to lay down behind a fallen rider

    Coventry Meeting Day

I make no comment on the above, other than to say that former Bee Tony Gillias has been succeeded as Mayor of Rugby by Ramesh Srivastava, born in India, and to repeat that it is Rugby DC that we need on our side

    Coventry Meeting Day

Surely the best bet is to canvass support from Rugby District Council for retention of the site for recreational purposes, ie motor sport, greyhound racing, etc It needs stepping up as we no longer have an ex-rider as Mayor Perhaps an online petition?

Swedish Gp Malilla Saturday June 14th

According to the SGP website Zagar was not awarded a point and he finished on 9 pts Both he and Nicki are shown as DNF for their semi-final It was a proper speedway track - in a speedway stadium If you want to see it in stadia like you mention, you'll get a temporary trick track like we've seen over the years in SGPs - even Cardiff, yes I'd much rather watch my speedway on a track like the one last night!
