But, if they did that, then that would rule out anyone switching from grasstrack or moto X who are over 21 but just starting out on the shale.

Perhaps it's the beginning of the SCB & BSPL being more open/public?? Who knows?

Better ask the SCB that one. It was them who said it on their website that there was to be an investigation into the refereeing decisions that night and, after the hearing into those investigations and it was on the BSPL website when the line-ups were announced, who the referee was.

The (unnamed) ref was Dave Watters:

Etheridge’s exclusion in heat five was beyond harsh; his front wheel was taken away from him by Thomson in what’s surely the perfect definition of first bend bunching.
If that was how the referee was governing the entire meeting, then fair enough, but he then went on to allow Castagna back in the re-run of heat fourteen after clipping Borke’s rear wheel, causing a crash.
I thought both incidents were the natural risks of bikes hitting a 10M wide corner with no breaks, so all four should have been back for the re-run, but for the referee to discriminate against one - arguably the least offensive, too - and not the other, is outrageous.
Are referees held accountable in speedway?
If Berwick dropped points on Saturday night, they would have had every right to be furious.
Shocking, bizarre and outright poor refereeing.
Well, a referee was given a suspension after a Premiership match a few weeks ago, so draw your own conclusions from that.

If Castagna had run four 3rd places, that would have been consistent, but 2 wins & 2 thirds isn't consistent.
Now if he scores 7,8,9 points every match, that'll be consistent.
"Good to see Paco showing what he’s capable of" - now that makes complete sense.
See it in GPs all the time, Max Fricke scores 4-6 points all year with one GP win, says he wants more consistency, well if you removed that one GP win = more consistency, but not sure he wants that lol!
Can you explain this please?
2 wins and 2 thirds = 8pts (not consistent) - but 7,8 or 9 points is consistent....

Things are looking up!
Edinburgh are in town again, bringing their own supporters of course -- the Monarchs are now the closest club to Shielfield -- and, having squeezed a last heat victory out of their last visit, may be in an optimistic frame of mind.
Probable teams (not officially confirmed):
Jewson Bandits: 1 Lewi Kerr, 2 Danyon Hume, 3 Jye Etheridge, 4 Drew Kemp, 5 Rory Schlein (capt), 6 Freddy Hodder, 7 Bastian Borke
Stellar Omada Monarchs: 1 Josh Pickering, 2 Lasse Fredriksen, 3 KyeThomson, 4 Paco Castanga (capt), 5 Sedgmen, 6 Connor Coles, 7 Max James
Usual details -- tapes up at 7pm, 10% discount if you buy tickets online before midnight on Friday, cash only at turnstiles on Saturday.
Tickets from: www.berwickspeedway.com/tickets
Why just the surname of the Edinburgh number five???

Crazy.
Why is it "crazy"? It's a (pretty large) part of what went on on Saturday night.
It's a bit like, if the BSF was thing then, going back to the 90's, talking about the Berwick vs Belle Vue meeting (the one where the Aces failed to show up at Berrington Lough) and just saying that Berwick tracked 2 riders and rode around until they couldn't be caught scorewise!
You can't just ignore it.

6 minutes ago, crescent girl said:The difference this time is that it was a reserve rider who returned the non-negative result.
Last year (and the year before, when Ben Barker was snagged) it was riders in their team proper who had their licences temporarily suspended (rightly and properly, rules is rules) on the night, in which case the programmed races could be covered by the team's reserves. Eliminating the problem of a three-rider race, which seems to be the main factor in getting people's knickers twisted.
So, if it happens again -- and it will, sure as God made little apples -- if it's a rider in the team's 1-5, no 3-man races. If it's a reserve, Heat 2 has to go with three riders -- hardly "cheating the public" and certainly a fair price to pay to keep the sport free of banned substances, no?
That's all well and good, but if one of the 1-5 are excluded (sorry, disqualified) for a tapes offence or for failing the two minutes, they have to go off 15metres, otherwise you would still have at least one more race with only three riders in it, as the other reserve would have to have his own 4 programmed rides and has to cover the banned reserves other 3 rides, so couldn't replace the disqualified rider. And God forbid if the other reserve got injured in heat 2 and had to withdraw from the meeting.

its whats left after you take cocaine it does not make its own cocaine in the body
your liver disolves the cocaine and produces Benzoylecgonine from the cocaine
cocaine if used now and then cant be traced after a few hours but the Benzoylecgonine stays for days after use
do a little research
You are correct. I got a little confused.
BUT..... "Benzoylecgonine can be found in medical products as a topical muscle relaxer, anesthetic or to relieve muscle pain."

9 minutes ago, Bandit59 said:Think it was cocaine that was found in Richies
Yes, but the other drug found in his system was Benzoylecgonine, which, when taken, produces it's own cocaine through the body. So it does not necessarily follow that Richie took cocaine on it's own.

1 hour ago, szkocjasid said:That was the downside of the "rising star" system. Newcastle dropped promising young Brit Connor Mountain because he wasn't a "RS" replaced him with Joe Alcock who was nowhere near ready, then replaced him with Archie Freeman who was even further away from being ready.
Obviously he got "free practice" but did going in the Champ far too early, hinder his progress?
Ideally you want riders to be NL heat leaders before stepping up.
When did Newcastle "drop" Connor Mountain? He rode throughout the whole of the 2021 season and was given a starting place at his own club the following year, which ruled him out of the Diamonds team. Joe Alcock rode in the first 3 matches and was replaced by Jack Parkinson-Blackburn, who lasted 4 matches and he was then replaced by Archie.

I agree, but who would pay for it? Almost certainly the fans with an extra increase of the admission charge.

I think the cost of that would be prohibitive, though.

If Plymouth beat Scunthorpe in the KOC then 28th April becomes available.
I can see the BSN series lasting a lot longer than last year.
Would the League fixture not take priority?

Some on here have been saying for quite a while now that Promoters should be Promoting the sport.
Workington bring in a female rider and are accused of it being a PR stunt. They just can't win, can they?

A question to those who may know - With the old stadium car park now built on would it still be possible to stage speedway racing in front of four figures at Blunsdon Stadium without the car park? - Where would supporters park?
Very interesting points that you bring up here..... but I believe it's the wrong thread!!
