Whilst I can fully understand the silence from Chris Louis (if he has little positive to report), I don't understand the silence from Mike Bacon/Ipswich Star. What's happened to investigative reporting?

In previous years there has been a discount if you renewed a season ticket before mid January. There is no mention of that this year, so there is no incentive to buy one until the start of the season.

I had always assumed that the selling of Witches season tickets in December was to give the 'Louis's' a bit of spending money over Christmas. I suppose that this year with Buster buying into the club that thats not needed.
  4. The thing is we live in different times now when everything is down to money. I was lucky being an Ipswich supporter to have been able to regularly watch the likes of Thomas Gollob, Tony Rickardsson, Denis Sigalas, Peter Moore etc. But Speedway is no different from other forms of entertainment, As a youngster I regularly went to my local theatre and was able to watch a music show with the likes of Cliff Richard, Cilla Black, Tom Jones all on the same bill. I once saw the Beatles and Roy Orbison in the SAME show just for a few pounds, now it costs a fortune to see an ageing rockstar (Rod Stewart) at Portman Road. Comedians like Dave Allen, Des O Connor, Harry Worth used to appear just as comperes, now to see Michael McIntyre I need to take out a mortgage and have to go to the O2 and watch him on a large TV screen. The days of being able to see the stars at our local track will never return, so sadly No, I don' t think it is any longer viable.

    A Very Short Season

Yep, last season the Witches had 23 home meetings, next year we could well only have 14.

    A Very Short Season

Ipswich 2018 Season tickets are now on sale and state that they will cover 18 Championship meetings and 1 Knockout Cup fixture. Presumably we must be riding just some of the teams twice.

I can't see Ipswich changing their race night, I guess that both us and Sheffield will join the Premier league.
  9. Ipswich website lists Scotty as a guest in place of Holder.

The problem with every team riding on the same nights is that, like football, you are only going to have a meeting once a fortnight. If you get a rain off, you are going to go a month without a meeting. How many clubs could financially survive with so few meetings?
  11. Thanks, I was not aware of that.
  12. Can anyone explain the comment of Richie Hawkins on the Ipswich website, that due to the averages we can only use Lewis Kerr as a guest at home. What difference does it make to the averages if you are at home or away?
  13. How can Peterboro fans claim their woeful performance was down to Ipswich's home track advantage when the highest scorer on the night was Workington's No 2.

Presumably Covatti and a three pointer in exchange for Sedgeman & Mountain.

It stated on Radio Suffolk that the proposed changes were in order to bring Nico back.
