Next rider to be confirmed for the Stuart Robson Farewell Meeting is German SGP 2 star and Belle Vue Ace NORICK BLODORN

“I‘ve known about Norick a while now and he was in the line-up last year. I messaged Robbie Kessler who helps Norick and asked whether he would be able to join us, and I was delighted when he confirmed he could.” Said Robbo
“With Norick and Celina in the line-up we have one of the best young German riders around and also the best German female rider, and I’m sure they will be looking forward to taking each other on.”
Norick will be sponsored for the event by STAKEFORD TYRE SERVICES (STS) with his tyre sponsored by RUSSELL ARMSTRONG AND FAMILY and his fuel sponsored by MR AND MRS C

“As everyone knows I like to help the young kids coming through, and Luke fits into that category perfectly. He was due to appear in my meeting in a previous attempt as part of the Young Lions demos on the 250cc, so it’s great to be able to add him into the main meeting.” Said Robbo
“I’m looking forward to seeing him and for him to use his home track knowledge and pick up some points off some more experienced riders.”

6th rider to be announced for the Stuart Robson Farewell meeting sponsored by Rentruck is one to capture the imagination of all speedway fans with the first competitive meeting in the UK for the Worlds Number 1 female rider Celina Liebmann
Leibmann made history when taking part in the SGP2, and has continued her progress in the sport and recently was at the forefront of the FIM Women in Speedway event at Belle Vue.
“When we heard that Celina was trying to secure a place in the UK in 2024, we made contact with her and offeered her a place in the meeting. After a few discussions, everything was agreed and Celina confirmed that she would love the opportunity to be in the line-up.” said meeting organiser Martin Coleman
“So many speedway fans are female, and I think this is a fantastic story for the sport, and for Stuart’s meeting in particular. We have been up against so many obstacles with covid through to weather call offs, and really hope this captures the imagination of the fans in the UK, and as many as possible come out to witness history with Celina taking part in her first official meeting in the UK. Robbo deserves a big crowd and hopefully this will bring a few more through the gates”. Said Coleman

ROBBOS FAREWELL MEETING TO AGAIN INVOLVE THE YOUNG LIONS
We are delighted to announce that the Young Lions Speedway group will form part of the Stuart Robson Farewell Meeting at Redcar on Saturday 30th September with a 5pm start.
As you will all know by now, Robbo has always been a big supporter of the work done by Neil Vatcher and the crew linked to the Young Lions, and when putting together the plan for meeting, once again Stuart wanted to give track time to the up and coming lads in the sport
“Supporting the youngsters is very close to my heart, and if it wasn’t for the support I received as a young lad it would have been even harder to make a career in the sport. The package that has been going now for a few years really gives these lads some time on the bike, and I really wanted to ensure those in the stadium get to see these guys in action. I’m going to ensure they all get 3 rides each and hope they enjoy themselves. If there is anyone out there who is able to contribute anything towards the young lions part of the event, please drop Martin an email at robbosfarewell@hotmail.com” said Robbo
Riders taking part are as follows:

“Every now and then you get a rider coming through the youth set-up that excites everyone….and Ashton is that current rider. It was no surprise to me that a club had signed him up so early, and already you have seen Ipswich giving him a few guest bookings in the Premiership. It’s nice to see a young Brit given a chance.” Said Robbo

“We are working hard on putting a line-up together, and it isn’t easy with the Play-off picture meaning some guys can’t commit to an extra meeting, and I get that and fully understand it. There might be a couple of riders in the line-up that people aren’t expecting, but I will be putting together a line-up that will definitely put on an entertaining night.”

  14. LAMBERT KICKS US OFF
After a gutsy and entertaining performance in last nights British Final, we are delighted to confirm the first rider announced for Robbos Farewell is Simon Lambert Racing
Simon picked up 2 race wins at Belle Vue last night in a very encouraging performance on such a big stage.

“I’m delighted that Connor is available to ride. He has continued to impress this season, and I enjoy watching him ride. He has a very tidy style and is someone who can trap and get himself really involved in the meeting.” Said Robbo
Connor will be sponsored by TREVS TYRES, with his tyre sponsored by CHATTERIS TOWN BUTCHER and his fuel sponsored by KEV AND LEIGH AUSTIN
Connor will wear the number 2 racejacket in the meeting and this is available to be sponsored now by emailing robbosfarewell@hotmail.com

  15. CHANGE OF TITLE SPONSOR FOR FAREWELL MEETING
When attempting the 4th running of the Farewell Meeting, we were kindly contacted by Gordon Pairman with a very generous offer to become meeting sponsor through his RMCS RACING.
With the postponement in March causing a loss of approx £5,000 from the money that was being raised to give Stuart the send off he deserves, we have been looking for additional sponsors/advertisers to try and fill some of that gap created, and Gordon has kindly helped out again, but has also agreed to waive the meeting sponsorship title, and that has kindly been supported by Richard and the team at Rentruck
Rentruck are a big supporter of riders in the UK and are closely linked with the Belle Vue Aces, and they have agreed to help out after a discussion with Gordon. The speedway community never fail to amaze us, and the generosity shown will help towards filling some the financial gap already suffered earlier this season.
So now we have the Stuart Robson Farewell Meeting sponsored by RENTRUCK
If anyone else would like to get in touch
and help out with anything please drop an email to robbosfarewell@hotmail.com

  17. In case anyone was wondering...

    2023 SCB Speedway Regulations

011.1.5 Unsatisfactory Starts In the event of a re-run; without disqualification or track maintenance, interval or repairs to motorcycles and where in the opinion of the Referee an improper or incorrect start has occurred, then the heat will be stopped immediately. A restart shall instantly be ordered and a 1 minute time allowance will be given. No rider may leave the track.  The Referee will give a warning to any rider deemed to have been the cause of or contributed to the unsatisfactory start. This will be communicated verbally by the Referee to the rider concerned via the start marshal or clerk of course before the race is started. This warning remains effective until the rider commits a further starting offence, in a subsequent heat, in the same event. This will result in a mandatory disqualification from that heat. Following a mandatory disqualification for a second offence any previous warning is deleted. The handicap or reserve replacement option is permitted.
