    British Speedway statement

Should have introduced a Lucky Loser like Poland. They know how to do things right.
  2. Poor attempt at deflection. Not even worthy of a lucky loser tag.
  3. So according to the Speedway Star, next season a team could finish sixth out of eight, get beaten in the firat round of the playoffs and still go on to be champions! "Lucky Loser"
  4. Somebody picks holes in your idea and this is how you respond ever thought of a career in P R?

    Oxford Cheetahs 2022

Just another example for me of why Polish speedway will be the death of other domestic leagues

Depends if they want speedway or grasstrack and gimmicks

Welcome to speedway, moaning is what the fans do best.
  8. According to Speedway star this week, Ekstraliga matches were watched by an average 139,000 viewers per meeting. Wonder how this compares to matches Sweden and Britain? Anybody know the figures from these leagues?

  11. To me (Scottish), not offensive, just not funny. If this was your attempt at "banter", don't give up the day job.

National League 2021 - has it been abandoned?

Same applies to Berwick this season, their riders got significantly more track time and developed a lot more than they would in the NJL. The National League is a lot better standard the the NJL and i've yet to see a 'wobbler' as one has said on here. Hopefully both teams back in the National League next year.

    KENT ROYALS 2020

Bit windy in Kent last night?

    Newcastle Diamonds 2021

Will never forget the night he crashed at Berwick on tv against Edinburgh. The whole stadium went deadly silent. Great team man and a good guy. Would have him back at Berwick in a heartbeat. One of the riders I always want to see do well. Must be made of rubber (or steel) to keep coming back from the injuries he has.
  15. Some very poor crowds for the Swedish meetings this season. Any specific reasons for this? And with the predicted exodus of 'top' expensive riders for next season, what effect will this have?

National League 2021 - has it been abandoned?

And yet if you looked back in this section a few years ago you would find a lot of posts about the makeup of the National League being all wrong, in that there was a big split between teams such as Belle Vue Colts, Kings Lynn Stars second team, then your standalone clubs like Eastbourne and Birmingham. Some clubs wanted success at all costs, some only wanted to develop riders and there was a big gap between them. And then there was the thorny subject of clubs being priced out of the league i.e. Buxton. Selective memories from some fans?

    Swindon Stadium

Every team in every country has 'foreign' riders probably, that doesn't bother me. Neither does the fact that they double up / ride in other countries. For me it's a necessary evil because demand outweighs supply.

Also, good luck holding on to riders wanting to ride in more lucrative leagues if you say you don't want them to join a club outside the uk. You won't be left with many riders.

    Swindon Stadium

In an ideal world, yes. But good luck finding enough riders of a similar standard, willing to ride in this country, to make 'one big league'. Unless, of course, you need some tracks to close?

I would prefer British teams to concentrate on the British leagues

I know it's an unpopular view on here but i think Polish league speedway will eventually destroy leagues in all the other countries.

    Berwick Bullets 2021

Brilliant result to round off a very successful season for the Bullets, whether or not they go on to win the league. Leon Flint and Kyle Bickley doubled up with the Bandits and, in particular I think it would give Kyle confidence to score big points when he sometimes struggled for the Bandits. Luke Crang stepped in for Leon and his scores against Mildenhall (home) and Kent (tonight) might just win them the league. Greg Blair re-discovered his love for the sport, gave the crowd great entertainment and became a bit of a cult figure. Ben Rathbone, Mason Watson, Ryan MacDonald and Keiron Douglas all developed a lot more than they would just riding in the NJL. I've enjoyed watching the Bullets matches this season, both as double headers and on their own. Hopefully the promotion continue the team next season.

    berwick bandits 2021

Excellent result for the Bullets tonight. What was most encouraging for me was the scoring for Mason Watson and Keiron Douglas on a track I'm not sure either will have ridden on before. Really didn't expect this, enjoy your win Bullets!
