    World U21 final - lineup

Does anyone know if there will be any updates for this meeting? Also Ritchie Hawkins is now a reserve for this meeting so at least there will be one Brit there.

    ALBY GOLDEN

So sad to hear this news, I met Alby a few times with Dad, he was a lovely man, such a sad loss for his family. RIP Alby. Yvonne & family.

Hi to you all again, I printed these pages off for Dad to read and he did so with great interest, he would like to pass on his thanks for all your best wishes. Old Saint, Dad talks fondly of Ernie Rawlins and his shock when they were told of the seriousness of his injuries, he is the proud owner of the Ernie Rawlins memorial trophy. Dad remembers being a coffin bearer at the funeral and was honoured to take over as captain of the Saints. Hello # Name Removed #, I have read many of your postings on the forum. What a coincidence this thread was started the same day as the VSRA lunch, I have a chat with Ian Williams at Blunsdon each week and he was telling me what a good time they had. I know Dad would enjoy these occasions, maybe I can persuade him? He was interested to hear of the riders you mentioned and obviously very sad to hear of Alby's illness. I enjoy reading all your comments and memories, it's nice to know Dad is remembered so well. Regards to you all Yvonne.

Thank you for the welcome, Lady of the Manor Dick Bradley was my mother's favourite If I remember correctly she had his autograph and various photos I am sure that I can come up with lots of questions, but I would be interested to hear what he remembers of Ernie Rawlins. Please pass on my very best wishes to him and thank him for the tremendous amount of pleasure and excitement he gave to a young Sotonian and his parents I will have a chat with him in the week and post any info about Ernie on here. I will pass on your thanks and best wishes, I am sure he will enjoy recalling the good old days.

Hello Old Saint, welcome to the forum. My dad used to ride for The Saints and is in fact one of the riders you mentioned - Dick Bradley - he is fit and well and still living about 5 miles outside Swindon where he has lived for 46 years. He is still interested in speedway and occasionally visits the Abbey Stadium at Blunsdon, his love of the sport has passed down to myself, and my family and I are at the Abbey every week. My eldest daughter's partner also races so obviously dad has a great interest in his progression. I wish you well in your quest to keep your memories alive and if I can help with any questions (thro dad of course) I will be happy to do so.

Knock knock again, thought Ritchie was great to give Elite league a go especially knowing it would be on tv and all the "critics" (for want of a better word) would be watching & ready to slate him! He's taking all the chances to ride no matter what league, surely the best way to gain more experience, good luck to him!
