Hackett replied to racers and royals's topic in International World of Speedway
Our pre-show starts with the meeting parade at 3:45pm local time with racing from 4pm - coverage will still be available after the meeting has started and later on demand. Our friends and colleagues at Baansportfansite will be providing live official results, available with the meeting scorechart which you can print should you wish from the image below. Cut and paste from the email promotion from tapes up promotions who are streaming the meeting. -
Haven't seen any social media promoting the British Final tickets. However checked Belle Vue site and tickets are now available ,although most of Grandstand C already gone.

British Final 2023

No fan of Barker but absolutely spot on. We all know he takes no prisoners and certainly gave it his all on Monday and for that he should be applauded. Imagine if he had a little more time on a bike over the last month he my of been even a little more competitive. -

I wonder how much authority he truly has , and whether he is just there to ensure the tv meetings run smoothly. -
British Final 2023
Hackett replied to Hackett's topic in Speedway Testimonials & Individual and Shared Events
Credit where credit is due the track team at Belle Vue worked wonders to get the meeting on. Not only was there heavy rain in Manchester at 17:00 the downpour prior to tapes off looked as though that would be it BUT the track team and Phil Morris got a meeting on. The riders should be applauded for giving it a go in not the best conditions and if raced at any other track I doubt the meeting would of taken place. Congratulations to Dan Bewley on winning the meeting and Steve Worrall the British SGP WildCard. Who did what he needed to do and now fully deserves his day on the big stage at the SGP. He may find it tough but fully deserves his opportunity. -

Ipswich Vs Kings Lynn August 10th
Hackett replied to Arch Stanton's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
Perhaps it is that he is willing to ride + possibly looking at the future. Perhaps it is a contra deal paid in shocks plus if he scores 0,0,0 outlay for Buster will be minimal. -
Chris Harris - 2, 2, 2, 2, 1 = 9 Yet he still top scored for the Lions. Really impressed with Dan Thompson tonight , no doubt he enjoyed every point in his Lions kevlars.

World Cup - Wroclaw July 2023
Hackett replied to Monarchs2468's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
Superb effort by Team GB . We all expected Poland to win but to run them so close and then lose in the last heat is so disappointing. All of the team contributed, no more than Ellis for his 2pts when I was cursing that Bewley wasn't used as a reserve ride. It was a superb meeting and great event for speedway. Close but no cigar. -
Gone for riders bets tonight. Think meeting will be competitive between Denmark - Aussies - GB but Poland should be good enough on home shale. Lidsey over 4 Lambert 0ver 8 Pedersen over 3 Kubera under 8 Zmarzlik +0 vs Bewley Lambert +0 vs Kubera Fricke -2 vs Pedersen Lidsey +1 vs Michelsen

World Cup - Wroclaw July 2023
Hackett replied to Monarchs2468's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
Better meeting tonight but as a competitive spectacle that was over by heat 7 . Track had improved but many riders have said track is different from Wroclaw league meetings. The Final will be more competitive as all teams can take points off each other rather than 2 competitive teams and 2 teams of 1or2 riders. Meeting tomorrow should be in front of a decent crowd. SWC was curtailed because Poland were winning it regularly since 2005 -2017 (8 victories in 12 years) - I would be very surprised if they don't win tomorrow on home shale but should be a decent meeting. -
It has been like this for decades. If you look in the Speedway Star in the noughties or 90's I would imagine much the same was being said then. This is what happens when a professional sport is run by amateurs and only looking after themselves not the collective good of the sport. The positive progressive stories of Oxford, Workington and Belle Vue are totally undermined by the farcical situation at KLynn and Pboro. The shadow over Wolves, Edinburgh's future. Needs a progressive and forthright CEO to lead the sport without the connection to any club but for the greater good of the sport. The reality of that happening ........

Tried to make the SWC meeting a little more interesting Backed Australia to get 43+ and Denmark to get under 47. Then an individual bet - Lahti 10/11 to score over 6 Lahti +0 to score more than Bellego Lidsey +1 to outscore Pedersen J Holder +1 to outscore Madsen

Kings Lynn Stars Vs Peterborough Panthers

Artem LAGUTA 2 3 3 3 2 13 0 Seemed to have a pretty decent meeting at Leszno no mention of any soil samples ... but for all Chris Louis kind words on Buster Chapman most appreciate that this is a cost cutting exercise. "El Brassico" - Will be rained off anyway, I would think. -
World Cup - Wroclaw July 2023
Hackett replied to Monarchs2468's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
Having watched the first two meetings of the SWC , it has been pretty dull racing on the most part. The issue with this format is that you are mainly looking at two competitive teams and two teams with one competitive rider in the early rounds. Hopefully the play-off will be a tighter meeting with teams able to take points off each other. Impressed with Berge tonight has improved since the SoN '21 when it was Bellego getting the majority of the points for France. Plus good to see Timo Lahti hugging the kerb, reminiscent of his days riding with the Eastbourne Eagles. -

Job done and straight through to the Final. 4th rider is going to be our achilles heel but an excellent night. Pity that the track was pretty poor as a spectacle. #jobdone -

Nowt as yet -
I am just grateful that Speedway has a magazine. Yes ; the content is PR releases in the main but occasionally a couple of decent articles / features appear. The Briggo one was a recent one of interest gave an insight into the rider / person + character. Hopefully it will continue but having worked 15 years in media + advertising it will have a dwindling demographic and audience.

Buster would save money.

Kings Lynn have got a decent gate !!!!

so the SCB were correct he does have the runs.

Hence why the majority are giving it a miss

Peterborough v Belle Vue Monday June 26th live on Eurosport
Hackett replied to racers and royals's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
The issue is likely to be with the the situation the club finds itself currently in with promoter, sponsor and a lack of transparency or clarity on what exactly is going ; will the fans care any next season.
