  1. Jake Knight ? Nothing on the Leicester Web. If so who does he replace? But i cannot imagine it.

    Redcar v Eastbourne 2/7/21

I had Bradley Wilson Dean in mind he is over here without a club and his Last CL average with Peterborough fits. Very popular here and rides all tracks not just Arlington. I saw he dropped out of the GP Qualifiers after breaking the tapes in heat 1 so if he is short of equipment Martin would soon sort him out.

    Redcar v Eastbourne 2/7/21

Eddie Kennett moves off of No 1 so Tom has to go to 4 in order to cover for him, how embarrasing is that? If he cannot get his mojo back in the next couple of weeks he should be replaced whilst he still has some sort of average. Loyalty has been an Eagles strong point but enough is enough and without a change this could be another season write off which would be a shame given the way the others have stepped up to the plate despite some cruel luck so far this year.
  4. Could be very tight this afternoon. I Expect Jake Knight to hold Ryan Kinsey and Dan Gilkes but can anyone else? Hopefully Danno Verge and his track knowledge will come through but not sure about Richard Andrews. Seagulls have the best reserve and Nathan Ablitt could make the difference between winning or Losing. I am going to stick my neck out and say Royals 43 Seagulls 47 but please no more injuries.
  5. Another blow with Lewy Kerr, Tom Brennan & Drew Kemp all out of this one. Now it is a real Banana Skin Am I right that a guest gets an additional 5% when replacing a home rider? If so then Steve Worrell looks the perfect guest for Kerr, if not then Paul Starke looks the only alternative after yesterdays meeting as there are so many Championship matches that day. Brennan is virtually irreplaceable at the moment so probably have to go r/r. Having seen Jake Knight with a No 8 on his back in the parade yesterday and then doing some laps I would imagine he is going to replace Kemp. If he is elligable why did they not use him at Scunthorpe it would have meant the difference between winning and losing I have no doubt.?.
  6. Think that's put the Ki-Bash on that, Now an away win.
  7. Wish I was that confident but I rate their 3 heat leaders the best in the CL at Arlington although it is Sam Masters first visit he is probably the best rider in the CL at present. Everything may depend on which Eddie Kennett turns up. Barring accidents it should be knife edge stuff so I will go for a draw 45-45 with a particularly good 'racing' meeting.
  8. Well another reason I would have changed order is that 3 and 4 are partners for three races which means the only time Newman can get his r/r in is heat 14 and I really don't fancy Newman and Edwards against Josh Pickering. As regards Heat 1 I would use Newman there. It is up to Kennett as No 1 to do his job and Newman should handle Greaves. You have not got to win the match in heat one and it gets rid of one of your weaker r/r's whilst the opposition are working out the track. Fun to be a team manger don't you think?
  9. Surely not if they change riding order with Kerr at 2. The r/r is for rider not team positioin. Or am I missing something?
  10. I see Scottie had 7 rides with 2 Tac Subs I thought you could only have 1 Sub per rider?
  11. My reasoning is keep Brennan out of heat 8 where he could be wasted and have that as Newman's r/r, He can handle that OK. It also makes Brennan the third heat leader which he certainly is and gives us a final push if we need it in heat 14.
  12. This looks a bit one sided, the Kings top 2 had a poor time in the Premier on Monday whilst Brennan had a super outing at Peterborough scoring 8 + 2 including beating Scottie Nicholls not once but twice. Only Bewley did better for the Aces. Meanwhile Kemp was 2nd top scorer for Ipswich with 6 although the team was slaughtered. They will have to do a lot better next Sunday and with a weak looking bottom 4 as well badly need Dan Gilkes to come good. Hope the Kings make some gates and I am wrong as there needs to be some interest in the second leg but around 60-30 will not surprise me.
  13. Feel sad for Tom and Drew their development over the last two years has really been hampered by things beyond their control yet still they have come on hand over fist. Fortunate however for the Eagles as there really did not seem any way they could be compensated for with the loss of Lewi as well. Would still like to see Steve Worrell as a guest but suspect now that they will go r/r giving Lawson and Brennan an extra ride along with Newman and Kemp. They could then move Brennan to No 4 and Kerr r/r No2. The Monarchs have a great top 3 particularly as Pickering seems to love Arlington but it could be a very difficult night for their bottom 4
  14. A bit harsh, where do you get your information from ? There are only 3 League Matches on a Sunday Glasgow, Berwick and Kent and the Glasgow one is at 5.0 There are some open meetings GB, Youth etc which are not usually included in a season ticket. There are also some reserved dates at end of season when it is uncertain who when and if required for the Play Offs. That is all in the last programme unless there has been a change in the last few days which I very much doubt. The new management team are doing a great job of re vitalising the club and deserve all our support.
  15. Interesting conclusion but over the Tannoy Jake said he was giving it a good go this year to get into the Championship and that he was a self employed builder so he could ride when he wanted to. Or words to that effect.
  16. Broc Nicol is first class round Arlington and makes the match much more interesting. At least he is not reserve this time.

    Scunthorpe v Eastbourne 4th June

On paper looks like an Eagles 4 match points tally. With all of them in form and Brennan looking like a 4th Heat Leader it will be a monumental task for the Scorpions particularly if Kennett has solved his mechanical problems. Delighted to see they are replacing Kemp with Nathan Ablitt. Another very promising lad who no doubt will be over the moon riding in the CL and probably again on Sunday..

    KENT v EASTBOURNE May 31st

Another nail biting draw looks like it was a good afternoons entertainment. Terrific performance by Gilkes another star in the making we certainly have a lot of them now Never expected him to put Knight in the shade but he was deadly Seagulls will be happy with 3 away points from two matches having had to re jig but Royals will have to do something about the long tail if they are to have any ambitions and we know Len always wants to win. I am surprised that they declared some points under the limit when they could have had someone like Luke Harris A special word for Mulford and Ablitt, Two more that can join the list of future stars. looking forward to seeing Gilkes at Arlington next Sunday and how he copes with Brennan,Kemp and Edwards.
  19. What A Night. Very encouraging for the season but. Kennett must sort his engine problems out Lawson had similar problems first two races but did get it right after that Kerr played a captains role and kept it together whilst the problems were mounting Newman a bit rusty but put in a determined shift Edwards improving fast did well and should go far Kemp struggled a bit but will contain most reserves TOM BRENNAN rider of the night for me, Beat Schlein hands down in heat one but engine blew on last lap and presented Poole a 5-0 then in his last ride gave Worrell a good run and was robbed of 2nd by another engine failure yards from the tapes. Should have been 11 points form 12 Despite almost exactly 2 years since his last Arlington match due to injury and covid he just keeps getting better. POOLE : Got their tails up and took advantage of their good fortune. They have a good team and when the two new Australians have more experience they will be one of the front runners. Barring accidents it looks almost certain that both these teams will be in the play off's

    Eastbourne 2020

But Jason is our Rising Star not Drew so Jake would presumably be available if his average fits but I seem to remember him having a CL Average of about 2.8 in around 2017.

    Eastbourne 2020

I see both Tom and Drew are now in the World Under 21 Qualifiers on June 12th. This clashes with the Edinburgh league match does it mean 2 guests. Difficult to replace them but neither was the RS in the team so presumably anyone within the average?
  22. Really looking forward to this and that first meeting 'smell' from the bike fuel. Unfortunately CL meeting looks rather lopsided, It was 59-31 in 2019 and whilst I think Eagles are stronger primarily with Brennan and Kemp for Morley and Bowtell Newcastle are much weaker losing all three heat leaders and only recruiting Ben Barker at that level. They have done the right thing to try and ensure survival and I hope they can spring some surprises. The NL should be a much better match with three clashes between Clegg and Knight very much the juiciest. I also fancy Kelsey Dugard to put on a bit of a show with a certain amount of 'feeling' and something to prove.. I am particularly looking forward to seeing that tiny tot who used to hesitantly ride round on a small machine for years before the Elite League matches. I have not seen him since he turned 15 but I understand Nathan Ablett is now quite a prospect and this will be his home debut. The weather forecast is sunny with showers so looks promising.
  23. You are taking my first words out of context I had seen the photos and could not believe the weather could be so different in a short distance. It was an expression not a judgement.
  24. I could not believe it was cancelled we had a very light shower at 7.00am Sunshine at 11.00 then an even lighter shower at 12.00 then a nice Sunny afternoon and no further rain since. Particularly disappointing as I had 4 people travel from Waterlooville for the match. AND I LIVE THREE MILES AS THE CROW FLIES FROM THE TRACK. It's bizarre!
  25. Can only see a massacre for Kent 59-31 to the Tigers.
