There isn't any reason for it not to bearing in mind the effort many have gone to, to get this meeting in the calendar.  There's also some income from the live stream subscribers which may have another 1000 after refunds (I assume) have been issued.

On this we agree, it will be interesting to see the take up of the live stream to ascertain whether it is something viable to consider in the future for other events too.

Still the sad old dictator and know it all....give it a rest.  You do whatever you like whilst the rest of us will follow and do what those that are running this country advise because that's the LAW.  Now naff off back to the Covid thread with your pals so you can chew the fat about Coronavirus v Flu blah, blah, bleedin' blah 'til the cows come home.

I haven't mentioned anything to do with following or not following the law.

I have asked you, what you disagree with in the facts I have posted.

Once again, you are unable to disagree with anything.

    Here's another fact for you.

Death Certs mentioning Covid-19 this year: 51,917
Death Certs mentioning Flu/Pneumonia this year: 73,770

Again, official stats taken from the ONS.. although the flu/pneumonia figure is higher as a lot of certificates have both Covid and Flu recorded on them, but are only included as Covid on the figure.

Don't bother, Twitcher is always right and will try to discredit and prove you wrong at every opportunity.  He is the UK's expert on Coronavirus and the flu.  Whitty & Co know nothing apparently.

    More inane childish nonsense.

I have only posted the facts. Indisputable facts, as provided by the government.

The fact you get so worked up about them because they contradict what the media has told you speaks volumes.

    Keep scaremongering.. Keep killing.

C'mon lets get real here. If 1000 folk can't get to attend the 'British' Final it's not the end of the world.
Getting on top of the pandemic has to be the priority. At the end of the day speedway is still just a sport and although Ipswich and BSPA have put a lot of work into preparing for a meeting there are greater priorities in life.
Covid 19 is out of control so why are measures not been brought in immediately rather than October as quoted?
Surely it would be better having a couple of months full lockdown now and perhaps some level of Christmas and New Year can be salvaged and families can get together and businesses saved.

Covid is out of control you say.

    Interesting.

    Week ending 14th September:

    Deaths involving Covid-19: 98 (up from 79)
    Deaths involving Flu/Pneumonia: 1127 (up from 874).

We are heading towards winter. Death from respiratory viruses are going to increase, they do EVERY SINGLE YEAR.

Christmas and New Year sees very high levels of deaths, far far higher that what we are seeing at the moment and far far higher than anything we have seen this year other than the couple of weeks when Covid was at its peak.

If you are advocating a lockdown now, then we should be locked down in the winter months every single year.

You could well be right, it was a long time ago.:D

I had it in my mind that PK dumped Screen? into the fence on the last bend and got an exclusion for his trouble.

    It was Jason Lyons.

Pretty sure didn't go into the fence either, PK just blocked him (aggressively) off so Henka came through.

Definitely not excluded as race ended a 3-3 and score 54-53.

As for Pearson, my god, he bangs on about Hancock more now than when he was actually in races.  WTF was he on about with Doyle landing on his shoulder rather than head being a good thing? Speedway riders are frequently out because of collarbones.    And calling the overall title lead during a race is pointless, as Bartek showed on that final bend, how many times does he do that.  Awful commentator... as calling Tai winning a race he was not in last night shows.

Pointless? Of course it isn't, it's highlighting the importance of the race.

Great commentary with Nige and Kelv tonight. They're getting better and better.

And I'm someone who wasn't keen on him when he first started.

Any chance of BWitcher disappearing back to waffle complete nonsense on his Covid-19 thread, so that we can get on with discussing the Prague rounds.

Intriguing couple of rounds ahead. Woffy is traditionally strong around Prague - can he come strong and get himself back into contention?  On the other hand, not a track that Zmarzlik seems to like!  But Lindgren seems to be the rider who is pulling out all the stops at the sharp end of meetings, which is critical under the new points system.

As usual you arrive with a personal vendetta. Numerous people discussed it.. and I didn't raise it.

As for complete nonsense, everything I have said is 100% factually correct.

You are right though, let's stick to the meeting.

Glad it is going ahead at Prague, may not be the best race track but does offer something different to the Polish tracks. I agree with you that it's a chance for Woffinden to post some big points although he'll need to be gating well.

Are the Anlas tires still banned?

I can see both sides of this.  Just 1 death today due to covid yet increased numbers over the last fortnight found positive.

By a test that doesn't test for Covid.. (it tests for coronavirus).

There's been increasing numbers for nearly two months.

The numbers only increase because tests increase.

    There is no 'other side'.

Whilst 100 people are dying with Covid on their death certs, 1000 are dying with flu/pneumonia on their death certs. Folks just aren't told that.

that is not the argument...if you live in much of the UK the above is not a possibility, its a certainty..good job you are not myopic !!

    Of course it's the argument.

Even if I CAUGHT Covid-19, I'd still have more chance of being stabbed than being hospitalised from it.

You're acting as it its some kind of death sentence.

Right now it's the least of your worries with flu/pneumonia involved in 10 x the deaths and hospitalisations.

Lets sincerely hope that you are not unfortunate enough to get infected...if you are...then can we all assume that you will not bother the NHS nor any medical practitioner, nor take up a bed, instead rely totally on your own beliefs and confidence ??..In that case I would stand corrected

    I can correct you immediately.

I have more chance of being stabbed the next time I go to the shop than being hospitalised with Covid-19.

    That is the reality.

That is a very thoughtful comment...i would agree in part with that...equally i am not ignorant enough to go down the route of "bullrubbish"..Indeed knowing sadly someone who suffered dreadfully before passing, and equally someone who had covid but is thankfully recovering (albeit slowly)..it isn't  something I would enjoy having. The mismanagement of Uk and USA governments borders on the criminal. During my mis-spent life and having survived a heart attack and later (the bullrubbish) of Sepsis, I ain't taking no chances Guvnor.

So you've fallen for it hook line and sinker.

It is a bit unfair to say ‘you’re all falling for’ at least when I have posted about the numbers in Czech it isn’t that I am falling for anything. Just noting that governments ‘fall for it’ and react accordingly. They paused the football league, then resumed, then cancelled it. But what is interesting is that despite the infected numbers rocketing for whatever reason, the government aren’t panicking despite call from the opposition and the ‘experts’ to do so

Fair post, not you in particular.. but others are.

Interesting...my contact in Prague says that Covid is rampant in Prague...not too bad in the countryside, but being caused by locals coming back from holiday in Spain, Croatia etc..

Also in Gorzow teh 50% capactity didn't seem organised and nobody wearing masks..

456 deaths in total in the whole of the Czech Republic since the beginning.

And you're all falling for the utter BS of 'rampant'.. and 'big time increase'.

The last time there were more than five in a day was May 22nd.

The more tests, the more cases. People get colds you know.. and will increasingly do so as the weather cools.

At a recent local charity non league football match they allowed a crowd of 300 in to watch.

Within 10 days 28 of them tested positive for Covid and the number is rising by the day , all traced back to one small football crowd.

The town has now been put on the government watch list as the rate per 100 people has exceeded the government target rate.

You attend if you want too.

It's people like you causing the problem with your scaremongering.

Firstly, they haven't tested positive for Covid. They've tested positive for Coronavirus. Something almost every single one of us will have over the winter period.

Secondly, the test isn't even accurate.

Thirdly, the death rate is now shown to be the same as the flu (and continuing to fall).

Finally, if you've ever visited your family at Christmas, you put them in many times more danger than attending an outdoor speedway meeting and I trust given your comments now you will NEVER visit family again either at Christmas or at any time in the winter when it will be far more dangerous, with or without Covid-19.
