Poole Vs The Aces For The Title

Most and certainly I accept it was a mistake, not the fault of Poole or Belle Vue but the referee. None of that alters the position that a safety rule was broken and as a result the rider concerned should be excluded. That is not making anything up, he rode in contravention of the rules, therfore he rode illegally. Belle Vue have done exactly what Poole would have done if the roles were reversed. If that motivates Poole, as Skidder1 seems to think, then so be it but I would have thought they had particular reason at the moment to support anyone trying to ensure that safety is paramount.

I understand why some think he should keep the points and his determination to race shows his commitment to his club. However, an important safety rule was broken and he should have been excluded in accordance with the regulations. Any other result makes the authorities complicit in ignoring their own rules.

Poole Vs The Aces For The Title

It was a shame about the initial difficulties with the track but eventually we saw some good racing and a fight back from the Aces to claw back the deficit. It certainly shows this side won't accept defeat easily. Zagar, Cook and Nicholls were excellent. No problems for me with the exclusions, Poole did a professional job, albeit the score for the respective 1-5's was 43- 28. I'm not going to criticise our reserves, they have done well for us all year and it was just unfortunate that their lack of experience of such a big meeting may have affected their performance, likewise Max Fricke. Well done to Poole. I am sure they would have settled for a draw before the meeting but must be disappointed to have squandered a good lead. It's not over yet. Poole are in the driving seat but this Aces side will give 100% and it may be a closer meeting than some think.

Travellodge. I think you might have been scammed. There is of course Travelodge but in fact the closest to the stadium is the Diamond Lodge almost opposite the stadium.

Back to tonight. I hear the Poole fans are on their way. The motor bike and side car have left. Ford is riding the bike with Middlo in the side car. Starman was going to ride on the pillion but strangely they set off 15 minutes early and he missed them.

Likewise, let's hope for a meeting without controversy, a well prepared track, no injuries and the better team coming out on top. Any Poole fans making the trip might want to take part in the heat 16 for Darcy. Everyone can walk the track for the last ever time and then put into the collection for Darcy.

Another Starman gem. Earlier posts already make clear that Wolverhampton and Lakeside are smaller. It's not as if there were many posts to read.

It's a worrying time for Belle Vue fans. Assuming Zagar's internal bleeding has stopped and he gives the GP a try then we have to hope that he comes through without the bleeding starting again. He was originally advised not to race again this season so the signs are not good. However, he wants to ride if he can so we shall have to wait and see. Unfortunately, unlike some guest replacements Jonsson doesn't strengthen us and probably makes us weaker for the away leg.
  14. I think the reality of the situation is that Belle Vue have had ongoing discussions with BSI from the early stages of this project and received positive indications that they would look favourably on holding events at the new stadium, assuming of course it meets the required standards. The council were presented with a professionally evaluated business case as well as an impressive list of business leaders prepared to back the stadium and have been fully supportive of ensuring that those requirements are met. Apparently, nothing is yet signed or sealed with BSI but I can't believe the council would be providing a further £750,000 unless they were very sure that an agreement will be reached.

You really must read what people say and not reply to what you think they say. Surely, you must in your life have judged people on their previous actions. If someone lies to you do you think, oh well the next time they say something to me I will just accept what they say at face value or, like the rest of the human race, do you think I won't be fooled again, I shall look for something to support that he is telling the truth before accepting it. I'm not sure why you think I should be hammering the BSPA. I have not hammered anyone I have simply taken what you and others have previously said about your promotion and said that with that sort of perceived history it is hardly surprising that people are suspicious when a poorly performing rider is replaced by a guest who was likely to score more points. It is common sense. I have never said I believe what you have said about Poole and reminded you that I have said I would not form an opinion on the North incident without evidence. As for the BSPA, the reality is that they can do little faced with a medical certificate,

That is not strictly true. There is such a thing as similar fact evidence. If someone has used a similar method to commit a crime previously then that can be used as evidence against him and he could be convicted because of it. However, we are not talking about legal proceedings but general situations. If, as you believe about Poole, an organisation has done things in the past which cast doubt on their behaviour then it is perfectly reasonable for people to take that into account when trying to decide whether they think they have acted fairly in a more recent matter. If someone comes to your door and explains why they have done something which affects you and you later have reason to question what they said and did, you are certainly going to be more circumspect the next time they do something. Many would say it would be foolish to do otherwise.

Belle Vue are switching to Friday but using Wednesday when there is a GP. Both ourselves and Wolves have found problems signing riders as many don't want to race in Poland, the UK and Sweden on consecutive nights.

Comprehension is clearly a problem. I am not and have not challenged the veracity of the North situation. If you look back at my posts you will find I said we should wait until evidence was forthcoming before forming an opinion. The point I am trying to make and which I am sure most grasp, is that you cannot blame people being suspicious of an organisation which, by your own admission, has done things in the past which justify that suspicion. It is the organizational which is to blame not those who subsequently question their credibility. That does not mean that I approve of the more childish and extreme comments, they are not justified. As for North, it is not my opinion that he was out of form, his recent scores prove it.

Is it so difficult to grasp that many believe, including some of their own fans, that Poole have a history of using, shall we say, dubious tactics. Is it then a surprise that when an out of form rider is replaced by a guest, who most believed would score more, that people are suspicious and likely to believe the worst. It's human nature.

Poole Vs The Aces For The Title

The rest of the team go well there? Your worst nightmare has come true. Ford avoided us on the semi final in the hope that Swindon would beat us. Poole's last match at Kirky Lane on 3 August, 2015. Belle Vue 53, Poole 39. Holder 3 (4) North 10 (5) Watt 5 (4) Gomolski 3(4) Jannowski 11(5) including TR Starke 0(4) Newman 7 (4) Now I'm not suggesting that this is going to be easy by any means, it's not and everyone tries to move up a gear for a Final but it does show that it is stretching reality to claim all apart from Starke go well there.

    Leicester Lions 2016

According to a report by Peter Oakes in the Daily Star Doyle will not be at Leicester next year. Mind you in the same report he refers to Belle Vue doing the treble in the 1990's so not exactly on the ball.

That's typical of the shortsightedness that bedevils the sport. Football at Premier League level is thriving so they don't yet have to worry about looking at the bigger picture, speedway was to a lesser extent in a similar position in the 1970's. However, today we have an ever shrinking EL with fewer and fewer clubs and ever dwindling support. It has now reached a stage where clubs must take an interest in the survival of their rivals because otherwise they will end up with no-one to race against. There has to be a plan involving all clubs working together to try to save the sport. Self interest has played a major part in the current demise.
  23. Aces51

    Posf2 Poole V Coventry

But surely you can see that it is how people perceive what has happened in the past that makes many suspicious every time the club do something like replacing an out of form rider with a guest who is likely to score more points.

£20 admission at Belle Vue on Monday. Season tickets not valid but holders still get fast track admission and a free programme. Seems very reasonable, especially after charging normal price for the semi final.
