    Whos Left?

See, you're doing it again. With no logic whatsoever you're writing nonsense that makes no sense, and that you can't back up. Go on, give it a try. Tell us what on earth your nonsense comment is supposed to mean? There were 12 NL teams i.e. 84 places last year. There are 12 NL teams i.e. 84 places this year. So what exactly is "riders missing out" supposed to mean?

I see gustix still has no answers to back up his false claims.

    No answers then Gustix?

    Whos Left?

Gustix, Can you explain how you arrive at the above conclusions, as they seem to be totally illogical, and not based on any facts. How is a downward spiral gaining momentum? The NL, in fact is the one league that is operating on optimum occupancy. Whilst the top two leagues would gladly accept more teams, the NL has yet again hit its optimal 12 team complement. The points limit would appear to have been set at the perfect figure to do the job of ensuring that NL standard riders have a team place, whilst the league is still able to develop the top end riders to move up to higher leagues, and bring in new exciting 3.00 riders. The team building so far suggests that there are going to be 12 relatively equal teams and a season of high quality racing. We saw some great prospects come through the NL last year. Bewley, Parkinson-Blackburn, Smith, Hume, Thomas, Hunter, Stoneman etc etc. I'm expecting more of the same this year with Bickley, Lawlor, Brennan, Hampshire, Whitmore, Jenkins, Atkins and more. So your comments seem completely baffling and totally at odds with the real world. To help me understand, perhaps you could answer the following:- What should the points limit have been set at? Which NL standard riders are the ones who are going to miss out on getting a place that they wanted? Where have averages been more important than racing ability? Name the rider and the average which was preferred. Which are the riders who are better than the ones who will start the league season in those team places? I await your answers to the above simple questions Gustix....

    Rip Bryn

Sad news. Bryn was one of the good guys that speedway relies on so heavily. I should imagine every speedway supporter will have crossed paths with him at some point. Although he was South East, based and I frequent more Midlands and Northern tracks, I still used to bump into him a few times a year. He was always happy to chat...usually about the meeting he'd been at the previous night and the one he was going to the next day. Enthusiastic and knowledgable, he loved his speedway, and was equally clued up on the riders of yesteryear and the stars of tomorrow. A big loss to the sport.

    And The Good News Is,

That is a good thing, and by my reckoning 22 Brits have been named already with a minimum of 2 each at Belle Vue and Leicester, and one more at King's Lynn still to come. So that's a minimum of 27, but we know that, as well as 2 British reserves, Belle Vue are almost certain to include Cook and the 2 Woralls, so that takes us to 30, plus any others that may be named at Leicester above the mandatory 2.

    Belle Vue / Coventry Nl

I presume Woodhall means Ben Woodhull and his brother? You're asking a lot of a 15-year-old rookie in Bickley to ride in the top 5 and go out in heat 1 against the big no.1s. Just get someone on 3.01 or just over at No.2 and put Bickley at reserve where he won't be out of his depth and can take 7 rides. Then you'll be play-off material. (asuming you can get the others)

    Coventry 2017

Don't think it would matter. i'm sure they'd have ensured that your rifle was deactivated when you weren't looking. I remain convinced Sandhu and his family are behind Brandon Estates. When Sandhu bought the stadium it was clear his ultimate aim was redevelopment. Why then would he sell all that land to someone else and allow them to make all the money from redeveloping it instead? Of course Brandon Estates may have made Sandhu an offer he couldn't refuse and bought it from Sandhu at a much higher redevelopment value, rather than the existing use stadium value, but why would they do that? You wouldn't give away a huge slice of the potential profit when you're the one taking the risk. If Brandon Estates really are an unconnected party who have bought the stadium at an overinflated price, why would Sandhu go back and tear down floodlights, rip out alarms and other electrics? If Sandhu had sold the stadium for a huge profit, the second hand value of a bit of scrap floodlighting would be mere petty cash, and not something worth getting sued for. Clearly such things as floodlight stanchions, fire alarms, and internal wiring are fixtures of the stadium, not mere fittings of the tenant. Both parties will know this. Sandhu would not trash these things unless it was part of a pre-arranged plan. Have the police really been called? Somehow I doubt it. They wouldn't get involved in a civil matter. I honestly believe this is a battle purposely arranged between Sandhu's left hand and Sandhu's right hand to create a smokescreen while the stadium is trashed and becomes unusable.

Speedway Calendars - What's The Point?

Yes. Who'd have thought that the most likely way for Cliff to get 12 months is via a calendar!

    Leicester Lions 2017

Doesn't seem to be a problem with someone owning two clubs in the same league, but don't think you can promote two clubs in the same league, so Buster will have to put someone in at Leicester to run it for him......Let the speculation commence. Also, at the moment it looks like Buster is going to own Leicester 100%, but there are several consortia currently bidding for Belle Vue. Could whichever one(s) miss(es) out on getting BV be interested in taking a slice of Leicester instead? Or if Coventry doesn't run, could their operation and team just move across to Leicester?

Speedway Calendars - What's The Point?

It's like my Ola Jordan Calendar.... All the photos were taken in 2016. Who wants to spend all of 2017 looking at pictures from the previous year like this

Has anyone been on the Jersey Companies Registry site and ordered the Brandon Estates 2016 Annual Return? https://www.jerseyfsc.org/registry/documentsearch/NameDetail.aspx?Id=300208 Would be interesting to see who the directors and shareholders are, and if any of them have the name Sandhu.

    Buxton 2017

Disappointing to see Ryan Burton being lured away from Buxton by bigger spending clubs. Buxton have to rely on the loyalty of the riders they find. It's sad when they have their heads turned by clubs with more money. Expecting other departures from Hi-Edge very soon too.
  19. Exactly. Only No.1 is of any use at all. At least it has a speedway bike on it. None of the others have any reference to speedway at all. Has anyone done any market research with these? I guarantee if you showed them to the public they would assume that it's an advert for Scaffolding Great Britain, as they are the most famous user of the SGB acronym. This looks like a poor effort from the losing team at the branding task on The Apprentice. BSPA go back to the cafe and decide who's coming into the boardroom....cos at least one of you is going to get fired.

    Plymouth 2017 N/l?

The biggest sports club in the world has a logo with a devil on it. Can't see them selling as much merchandise if they changed it to a photo of a blood-pressured Graham Drury dressed as a sheep's head. Devil Logo

When I get home tonight I'm going to put a big load of washing on. I'm just telling you this in case you all want to come round and watch and throw £20 notes at me. I didn't want to rob you all of the chance of seeing me in action.

    National Development League Agm

...and won the league. Can't remember how they split things. Will they ride as Belle Vue in Colts racejackets with a Belle Vue manager when at Belle Vue, and ride as Coventry in Storm racejackets with a Coventry manager when at Coventry? I Imagine it's a disadvantage for the riders having 2 home tracks and 2 different managers, but it must've worked out OK for Scunthorpe/Sheffield when they won the title.

And Swindon are in the National Trophy, but they don't seem to be getting a mention at all?
