    Brandon Update

I think it is tremendous how people have responded to this in just a few days, it proves just how much Brandon Stadium means to them.

    Birmingham Brummies 2023

very true , but if you consider the other close by areas (Aston - Smethwick- Hockley etc) probably no worse.

    Birmingham Brummies 2023

You might like to try this. just a few minutes away from the speedway stadium + no worries about parking & congestion charging . https://www.dayoutwiththekids.co.uk/attractions/sandwell-valley-country-park-f91ab204

    Brandon Update

Anyone who has commented previously regarding the planning proposal will receive a letter from Rugby Council explaining the procedure of the appeal. It does state in the letter that any comments ,or modification/withdrawal of previous representations can be made at https://acp.planninginspectorate.gov.uk I am presuming anyone is able to comment there. Fingers crossed. APPEAL REFERENCE APP/E3715/W/23/3322013 APPEAL REFERENCE R18/0186

    Moto Gp, 2 And 3

Speedway is still "my sport" too ,I've supported it for over 60 Years, I accept it for what is is, but i am still extremely interested in F1 & it would seem that with a 3 day attendance of some 450,000 at Melbourne many others are too . What i do feel odd is that a decision by one man in one race "led you lose total interest in F1" whilst still following speedway with all of its issues.

Yet you still retain a strong interest in speedway, where rules are interpreted in any way that suits the occasion & have been for as long as I can recall. Michael Masi was investigated for his decisions in that race & he was removed from the job, I'm not sure what more you expect from the FIA..
  7. Definitely is , but it seems the people who run the sport will continue to offer their many reasons/excuses why an earlier call off wasn't made.

    R.I.P. Col Smith

Both Col & Jim were in the bees team when I saw my first speedway meeting , must have been around 1960.Very sad news.

    Ipswich 2023

You should be ok . Apparently Emil took to track "like a duck to water" so he'll be fine whatever the conditions.

    One Minute for reruns

Yes , but we know the start marshal can take great care to get them lined up & the second he moves away at least one rider will back off from the tapes undoing everything he has attempted to achieve .

    One Minute for reruns

"Pete Adams barbed & tongues" all together seems appropriate.

    One Minute for reruns

Could be , there definitely needs to be some sort of punishment for moving at the start, otherwise it would soon be chaos.

    One Minute for reruns

But surely that would just encourage them all to "try it on" & we would soon be back to the bad old "Rawhide" days ,you know "rollin- rollin-rollin".?
  14. But, just as final comment on this subject, that isn't what you first claimed.
  15. One of the very few benefits of being an"oldie" for me.
  16. Ah yes Hyde Rd , so many memories. The BLRC was always around the date of our son's birthday so each year it was a family day out , firstly the Zoo, then off to the speedway which was always a great atmosphere & when that finished the rest of the evening at the funfair along with many other supporters .Great times .
  17. I think the Bradford fire was 1985 ,so later than the sale of Blackbird Rd.
  18. Obviously not comprehensive enough , as you've still failed to understand , I notice that you have changed tack now & it's now "they " sold Leicester & not C O.
  19. With respect that comment doesn't show too much logic on your part.
  20. Perhaps you can explain how anyone can sell a company that he doesn't own? No one person can be accused of selling the stadium it would have to have been a majority vote by all concerned. That's how compies are run.
  21. I think you will find that the Sanderson family were the majority shareholders of the company & no decisions would have been made without their approval.
  22. The company that owned the place, Midland Sports Stadiums Ltd.
  23. I bet I have heard this rubbish hundreds of times previously too. The C O didn't sell Leicester .
  24. Definitely! If only we had a few like him around now. When the C O spoke people listened.
