  1. Iversen not a big hitter? Poole Belle Vue Leicester Swindon Somerset Wolves Rye House King's Lynn That's not me being negative, just judging what I see on paper. Hopefully it will be way out ie Lynn surprise us all and Poole implode

    Kings Lynn 2018..

Take your point and don't necessarily disagree but the reason Poole are head and shoulders above the rest is the failure to reassess riders accurately. Things would be much more even had that been done.

Silly to suggest that any team 'aims to come bottom' but the team is obviously built to a tight budget. Would rather be a big fish in a little pond than the other way round but it is what it is and we'll see how things go. Nobody fancied Swindon this time last year, and I'm not for a minute suggesting this team will win the title, but it could do better than many think if a couple of riders have a breakthrough season. I also accept that most people will think this is the eighth best team in the league, up to the club to prove them wrong.

Because he is never going to get any better and a new young rider like Andersen has potential to be much better than his assessed average.
  5. Is it just me who finds people who hold grudges several years later irritating? Also please let me know which second division teams that Tungate, Fricke, Vaculik, Pieszczek, Andersen, Iversen, Doyle, Batchelor, Thorsell, Kasprzak, Kurtz, Woryna, Szczepaniak, Holder, Jeppersen, Andersen, Lambert, Cook, Bellego, Masters and Musielak are riding for this year as I think I must have missed it

    Poole 2018

This team has the potential to blow everybody away and win the league at a canter but I'd suggest there are enough question marks over various riders to not give them the trophy just yet.

Bit over the top. Good news it is though, and proof that all the whittling and worrying people did over the winter was unnecessary.

My glass is half full Haza.

That's another argument entirely. Perhaps rider control should have been adopted to allocate these rides? Personally I wouldn't have the right point rule, and would ensure all riders who have missed at least a season are assessed accordingly and correctly. Are we sure the right point rule 'forced out' Freddie? Thought it was down to cost also.

Woah there Nelly! Was just my opinion. Chances are Iversen will line up anyway.

    Poole 2018

The Championship clubs who didn't act in the best interests of speedway as a whole have a lot to answer for.

You are probably looking at a seven ish and a six ish without Iversen meaning Lambert at one and the two Lewis's at reserve. Something like Lambert Proctor Jorgensen Palm Toft Worrall Kerr Rose Not good.

I'm sure Lynn will have one but the quality of our plan B compared to Poole's is likely to be quite different.

    Kings Lynn 2018..

Exactly this. We need to be ruthless if riders are underperforming, should be easier to make changes with separate race nights this year. Will of course give Proctor every chance, hopefully he will prove me very wrong. This team needs a couple of riders to stick at least a point on their average and have a 'breakthrough' season to have a chance of top four, as unlikely as it seems Swindon did it last year when unfancied so you never know.

    Kings Lynn 2018..

He was, but as you say that was nine years ago. He has missed UK seasons in that time and isn't that number one rider that Redcar had back then, think he finished on the PLRC rostrum that year too. It needed to be somebody who could potentially up their average, somebody younger and new to the UK if need be.

    Kings Lynn 2018..

If we are living within our means then fair enough, but surely there was somebody better than Proctor on that average? Not unhappy with the other six (if they all sign of course).
  17. Bagpuss

    Kings Lynn 2018..

I hope you are because if they have left less than four for the final rider that makes Proctor an even worse signing. Surely TJ's Prem average is an attained one rather than a calculation?

Are we talking about the same Andersen?

    Kings Lynn 2018..

    Proctor 5.5?

    Kings Lynn 2018..

Two things; 1. Why has been released now when the club's Twitter feed said only five hours ago that it would be Friday? 2. Proctor is an awful signing, his best days are way behind him and he is unlikely to improve. Might as well have had Palm Toft back! One can only assume that Erik Riss wanted to much money if he was ever under consideration. Bit of a shambles really. Fans forum a waste of time for many as we know the last two are Iversen and Andersen. Looks a pretty ordinary team which will get some humpings on the road.

    Poole 2018

Of course Tungate's move wouldn't be termed 'dirty' if it was a Poole rider making it at Wimborne Road on a Wednesday evening

    I wouldn't bet on it

    Kings Lynn 2018..

That is as may be but it's unlikely to be until 2019 now, perhaps over the next few months things will change with a new promoter on board and if he has a breakthrough season he may not feel the need to be elsewhere. A lot can happen in twelve months, rather than predicting doom and gloom let's just see what happens.

    Poole 2018

I think we can safely say that Kurtz wasn't a 'cut above' anybody in that field after all. Maybe in the future. Or maybe not.
