and this is the issue with having the people who have a stake in the teams set the rules for the competition.

thats optimistic at best, would a NDL side bring the crowds in to make it worth running ? would the consortium have the pockets to fund a premiership team, after all Ford himself chose to drop to championship and costs must have been a reason for that. adding the ownership and running costs of a stadium on top of that won't help. who knows what state the sport will be in once we get through the worst of covid and a recession, will there even be speedway in the country.

Becker has to be first name on the team list for next season. Wouldn't be surprised if he goes elsewhere however as part of his 'development' and every team in the league will be after him so could come down to money. Douglas is another to pursue as he settled in quite well, had a few bad scores but to be expected. Schlein i would keep but only if he is to be second string / third heat leader nothing more than that, good captain material. Nicholls is another to look at from the home perspective, he didn't let us down when was with us early part of season and we sure noticed his absence when Jacob was back. Would only take him as a second string however in terms of team building. Masters/Thorssell/Howarth - they've had long enough now and won't really get much more out of them, have shown that when needed they don't step up. Morris - who knows.
  9. so Cook rode basically both meetings with a broken wrist/arm. doesn't look so good for Harris does it when Cook was still beating him when we were getting five one'd for fun by the opposition.
  10. he isn't though is he

Pearson is just concerned about his own interests. if the slow decline of speedway continues as it is (actually more rapid than slow) so does his income. but as with all sports that he is apparently an expert on he uses the keyboard warrior phrase when someone doesn't agree with his views or that of his pals that line his pockets. it's also another chance for him to take a shot at anyone connected to Wolves due to his club affiliations.
  12. it was more than likely a team you couldn't actually afford however.

if parking a car at the stadium i'd make sure it's on the stadium car park and nothing else. it's a bit ropey on the streets round there. hotels would be in the city centre itself where you could get the metro or the bus and then walk to the stadium.

anyone think that Jacob has burnt his bridges with Wolves and CVS/Adams ? he told them he was going to be fine when they spoke to him about being in the team. CVS has said that they were annoyed by his stories over the winter when they turned out not to be true. wouldn't surprise me if he's not back here this season and Wolves stick with Nicholls
