Right discovery, let’s start from scratch, what gone on before is history, me and my family are potential customers, we tick the right boxes, speedway fans, we can travel ok and sorted for somewhere to stop, that’s half your work done, you’re a new company to speedway with fresh idea’s(supposedly )so what are you going to do to make me us want to go ? It’s not the heat, the storage the track and to a large extent the tyres, it’s the revolution of the back wheel , it is too much, we have been asking too much of the tyres and track surfaces for years nothing will change because nobody gives an arse we will be adapting 1tyre per race soon like they do in Poland and then the riders tyre bill goes up too £250 per meeting and then the mechanics will ask for more to fit them and on track nothing changes, at times this sport deserves to die

Yes but to be fair there have been some really good ones too and some who’s heart was in the right place but maybe their brain wasn’t or the were literally doing it on a shoe string for the love of it, there are also some still in the sport who are like vultures circling a Caracas when there is a whiff of financial trouble

The track was already booked on the 18th for the BV experience which people have paid a lot of money for and booked hotels, they haven’t even been told it’s been changed, this isn’t the first time this has happened, it happened a couple of months back when the riders turned up and there was an American football match booked on same day

The most astonishing thing about this meeting is it’s 8.50pm and we only on heat 9

Can’t speak for all of them but some are even before tonight, I did 5 rides with an anlas at 7psi on the Isle of Wight Thursday night with no issues and it was very slick but was doing around 3000 revs less as I was on an upright GM, I’m sure there is a lesson in there somewhere

I’m told some riders are running an extra couple psi with anlas tyres

The business side of football is money laundering at worst and tax off setting at best and gets a play thing thrown in and to a very lesser extent so is speedway although speedway’s is so small it doesn’t create a ripple in the financial world or even in the British tax system, the tax man has stuck his oar in a few times over the years but nothing ever comes of it, I’m yet to see an ex promoter living on the streets after his club folded owing 1000s to every man and his cat

I don’t know what happened to finding a new track or anyone involved now but the previous promoter and his girlfriend basically didn’t pay the bills or the land owner who I believe is a builder , I rode for Weymouth under Brian white and I did lots of open meetings in the last season under the guy who took over from Brian ,the last few meeting riders including myself were asking to get paid on the night of meetings as rumours were rife about his team not being paid, not sure if they ever got paid , the girlfriend of the promoter was a previous girlfriend of a rider who had his bike stolen in suspicious circumstances, I was involved in the investigation as I was offered the bike for sale and recognised it and contacted the rider and the police ,I believe there were a few people, sponsors etc who would of took the track on but the builder wouldn’t do it, he flattened the track and used the pits to store his building equipment

That’s for me is the don’t care about supporters bit and every year really grates me

Who can blame them after the last promoter and his girlfriend screwed them over and don’t forget the stolen speedway bike of one of their riders
