Big crowd in Częstochowa, let’s hope the meeting is good too

I take it the delay and booing is for the Toruń fans kicking off

Some decent racing so far, great atmosphere too, Toruń not firing at the moment

Robert lambert singing along to the polish national anthem lol I suppose how many times we have heard it over the last 20 years it does stick with you

I don’t know what happened to finding a new track or anyone involved now but the previous promoter and his girlfriend basically didn’t pay the bills or the land owner who I believe is a builder , I rode for Weymouth under Brian white and I did lots of open meetings in the last season under the guy who took over from Brian ,the last few meeting riders including myself were asking to get paid on the night of meetings as rumours were rife about his team not being paid, not sure if they ever got paid , the girlfriend of the promoter was a previous girlfriend of a rider who had his bike stolen in suspicious circumstances, I was involved in the investigation as I was offered the bike for sale and recognised it and contacted the rider and the police ,I believe there were a few people, sponsors etc who would of took the track on but the builder wouldn’t do it, he flattened the track and used the pits to store his building equipment

That’s for me is the don’t care about supporters bit and every year really grates me

Who can blame them after the last promoter and his girlfriend screwed them over and don’t forget the stolen speedway bike of one of their riders

For LEAGUE racing what happens inside the fence is a bonus but not the most important, the most important is what happens outside the safety fence, the fan experience, how that fans feels, if that fan supports their team and there is a bond with that team and they are with other like minded fans (the more the better)creating an atmosphere and their team hopefully wins with maybe some controversy thrown in even if the racing was crap the fan experience will be a good one and make that fan want to go back, this is basically what happens in any team sport even football, add in value for money and you’re on a winner, we all want great racing but great racing infront of a few fans with no atmosphere will be a negative fan experience, it’s the opposite for a TV audience as tv can’t capture atmosphere so relies on good racing , just think back when you went to away matches back in the day on a coach or with your teams fans and you watched a dull meeting with no passing and your team got battered but the 50 or so of you supported your team and had a blast creating an atmosphere, it was a good fan experience, it didn’t matter what happened inside the fence

Because we heard it all before, Tatum will be no different, that’s why, it’s thats simple

Because it’s been done before by god knows how many people, the sport is full of podcasts, I’ve even been on one, there is nothing new, it’s all very tame and the same questions because nobody wants to step outside their comfort zone, there is nothing wrong with podcasts but be different otherwise we heard it all before, how about getting somebody on who isn’t afraid to call out the idiots running the sport (into the ground) I might tune in then otherwise it’s no from me

Just watching gorzow from last night as I was working last night and missed it, the way Częstochowa treat jepperson is terrible, woryna has been rubbish tonight and they still don’t give him a ride, if I was him I’d leave for another track even if it meant dropping down a league

As much as Lublin have a home track advantage Toruń have enough quality in their team to hold on to a 10 point lead

Lublin have looked a class act all season long but tonight they look very average

Yet another podcast ,same old same old, unless you’re going to be controversial and have on controversial guests we seen and heard it all before,,quite frankly I’m bored at hearing about getting the “right set up “ not for me I’m afraid and it’s not a dig at Dan or kelvin

Who pays for them ?

We currently have Rev limiters in the sport set at 13,500

Poland does rule the roost but to be fair poland also has its fair share of ex riders who see the need for change

Speedway was perfectly good at Peterborough in the upright or even the early laydown days when revs were a lot less, long stroke engines are more forgiving (especially when the track is rough)and have more usable power than a short stroke but it isn’t necessarily about the stroke of the engine or the angle it’s at, it’s the revolutions of the rear wheel, it is around 30mph+ quicker than the speed of the bike,to slow the back wheel down doesn’t mean to slow the bike, I think if they limited the engines to 10,000 revs max maybe they would revert to longstroke’s but I’m sure they could get a short stroke to work better at lowers revs, a slower spinning wheel mean less tyre wear, less damage to tracks, less engine wear, by its nature the engine would be quieter so we could do away with the current silencer which has restricted the power band even more than before, but none of this will happen because riders will tell you no and they rule the sport, when you see a MotoGP rider or F1 driver do a burn out that is what speedway is doing for 60 seconds every race and doing it a up to 70mph

In Poland and in the GPS you are allowed a new tyre every race they are now using tubeless tyres (using moose’s I assume) yet more expense to go the same speed

I have in my workshop a short stroke GM with 93mm piston, I can’t imagine how hard that would be to ride in a British track but clearly someone did, thing is there are ex riders out there who speak up about engines but get shot down by the current riders, saying things like “you can’t stop progress” but it isn’t progress , the sport is paying more to stand still or even go backwards, there could well of been a faulty batch of tyres yesterday but the tyre problem has been around for years but we plod on putting a plaster over gapping wounds, it breaks my heart what this sport has become and it has become unnecessarily

It won’t happen because there is no discipline in the mechanical side of the sport, the riders rule the sport, until that changes nothing changes

And nobody is talking about the elephant in the room and it’s been in the room for years ,in the last 15-20 years the revs on a speedway bike have increased dramatically, tyres can’t cope, valves springs can’t cope, tracks can’t cope, nothing has been achieved racing wise or cost wise and safety wise has gone backwards, the only ones to benefit are the tuners and even they will tell you they don’t make enough, it is a misconception that speedway is faster now, it isn’t, the bikes are traveling at roughly the same speed as the upright days, the difference is the speed of the spinning wheel has increased hugely and you run a tyre spinning at that speed with around 6psi what the hell do you expect, yes mitas were a better tyre than anlas but there isn’t a tyre manufacturer in the world that could produce a tyre that wouldn’t get ripped to shreds on a current speedway bike, will speedway learn from its mistakes ? I doubt it

You will see it pumping the oil through the glass when bike is running, if you are still unsure unscrew the banjo that is top of oil pipe to head, oil should come out, don’t do it for long though, do you have reason to think it’s not working ?

Sadly this is much much worse than speedway, it could be as bad as starving or freezing to death
