    Cardiff 2022

Can't believe that Cardiff is viable with 22000 in attendance. Eventually Money will talk

    Cardiff 2022

Wouldn't be surprised if the British GP is switched to Manchester if advance ticket sales are poor for Cardiff. At 22000 this year someone must be losing a lot of money, can't see that being repeated next year.

    Cardiff 2022

Be interesting to see if the promoter issues a statement acknowledging there was a problem with the track. If they don't think / acknowledge there was a problem on both days then they are stuffed, as is the future of the event.

    Cardiff 2022

I thought Ole Olsen had an exclusive contract with BSI and when their contract expired so did his. I might be wrong but I thought One Sport was responsable for track build now. Would explain why the track was so bad , over the last 5 years the track build under Olsen has been good, nothing like we have seen this weekend.

    Cardiff 2022

Just back from Cardiff. I have done every Cardiff GP but this will be my last. Cardiff has become too difficult, too expensive with little given back. Whether its getting there, hotels, buying tickets, downloading tickets ,ticket apps etc, all that hassle to be rewarded with an awful track producing an awful GP. And guess what my ticket app would not load when I got to the gate. Had to pay a visit to the ticket office with a lot of tetchy people with the same problem. Discovery have taken the GP back 20 years, 20 years ago we had a 30 thousand crowd and an unfit track dito 2022. When will they stop making mistakes ,SON in the same country comes to mind, BSI learned that lesson years ago. For me the Cardiff GP has run its course, maybe with a sub 30 thousand crowd it has also run its natural course anyway, how do they expect to sell tickets for next year on the back of what we have seen this year, they won't be getting my money I'd be surprised if they are making any money on this event with the costs involved, can't see discovery sucking this up for ever. Over and out
  6. There wont be anyone there either if the Poles are not racing
  7. Discovery are going to need some deep pockets to cover their errors. BSI found out the hard way that you need a home nation for every round of the SON . Add to this the ticket fiasco over Cardiff and their romantic hopes of an Oceania GP this year , not a great start

    Cardiff 2022

To redress the balance I have had numerous problems downloading the tickets to the app. I contacted the customer service and they did it for me , so I now have the tickets in my app. Not ideal but anyone struggling I would suggest contacting customer service. Buying tickets and accessing them should not be so difficult. I Use See tickets a lot and they still post some tickets and have print at home options or send you an eticket as a pdf. This ticket system could seriously have an adverse affect on the attendance at Cardiff

    Cardiff 2022

Does anybody else think this ticketing is a farce. It seems Cardiff is not for everyone just for the tech savvy. Do they not know speedway's demmagraphic..Anyway downloaded the app but cannot find the tickets anywhere in my see tickets account even clicking the orders button. Any ideas anyone ? Been to all GP's in Cardiff but this may be my last if the tickets are not easier to access, they even have the nerve to charge a booking fee when its you doing all the work.

    Cardiff 2022

Sorry to bang on about tickets, but has anyone physically got their tickets through the Principality app so far , or are they staring at a message which says no tickets yet. I've tracked the order and it says not dispatched yet. Is it just best to sit and wait until nearer the time.

    Cardiff 2022

Well they don't make ticket buying easy do they. What ever happened to posting tickets out or at least print at home. Now you have to have a smartphone to download an app, not great for us older people with limited knowledge of mobile phones.Any way I have been through the system , managed eventually to download the app and complete the transaction. Only problem is when I go to the app it comes up "you tickets will appear here, no tickets yet." Is this normal or have others got their tickets straight away. Any help would be appreciated . Thanks in advance. .
  12. Please Please Please Discovery please amend the SGP points system to the one we had previously ie every point counts. The GP has now become flat due to the scoring system, the gp only starts to have some meaning when 20 heats are completed. Every point counts brings intensity from heat one and the gp should evolve as a story, evolving heat by heat. I know the issue of the winner scoring possibly less points than the runner up is an issue, but overall I would live with it to improve the overall product. I won't hold my breath thou . I can't think of many who like the current system.
  13. Many thanks Pirate Ship , tickets located. Really thankful for your help.
  14. Having a tech nightmare. My laptop has bust so using a new laptop which is not as good and wont connect to printer. logged into ticket page on the above post and can't find my tickets. Been searching through ten thousand unread emails trying to find ticket purchase, no success , like searching for a needle in a haystack. Can anyone tell me a keyword that I can search for connected to the original confirmation email ? Other than it looks like no S.O.N for me.
  15. hi, can anyone out there remember when the tickets originally went on sale or which company handled the tickets. I've been wading through my inbox from 2020 and can't find head nor tail in my inbox. Thanks in advance.
  16. If anyone needed reminding why speedway in this country is on its backside than last nights meeting was as good as an example as any. On a perfect night, with two evenly matched teams we were served up tripe. Unfortunately today's machines have totally outgrown our historic speedway tracks. I feel sorry for the promoters trying to promote that product. We seriously have about six decent tracks in the UK and most of them are modern built, unfortunately we have lost 2 of the best in Swindon and Somerset. Then we have the usual suspects on here giving the "your tracks worst than our track " rubbish. I'm sure this debate will continue fully when we go to Ipswich and Kings Lynn. Feel sorry for Eurosport trying to sex up such a poor product, the guys on the mic know it as well, although they are experts at trying to flog a dead horse. As for crowds, the die hards will always come, they will watch anything, but how an earth do you attract news supporters if that's the product on offer.

    King's Lynn Stars 2020

I think when live spectator sport does return , with the length of time it has been away there will be a huge demand. Premier League football, top level rugby, International cricket, Wimbledon, Silverstone to name a few. Sadly I don't think speedway will be one of those sports. With an alarming reliance on admission money to stay afloat, the group of people who may be more nervous to return to the fold are the over 50's, predominately speedway's demographic core fan base. Add to that another watered down league when you think it could't get watered down anymore, I dare say this will be reflected by admission prices, yes I doubt that too. I feel for Eurosport, they have jumped in with both feet and ended up with not much to work with. A 7 team top division was painful enough, try explaining to new fans a top division with only 6 teams, good luck with that. As usual after the BSPA conference, optimism is high from everybody in the sport, even at Swindon after their late withdrawal, A brand new stadium to look forward to which ironically should have been built 3 years ago while houses shoot up ten a penny around it. It beggars belief why it was not built last year when there was definitely no speedway or spectators to disrupt its build. As usual the proof of the pudding will be in the eating and for all the yearly eternal optimism nothing much will change, modern rocket ships on unsuitable, outdated British tracks. Covid and the Polish juggernaut League hasn't helped but I just can't see how the good times are ever going to roll again in this country. no matter what the promoters try to do.

    2021 GP Series Dates

Must admit I've not read anywhere that the riders are calling for this. It seems yet another instance of the F.I.M trying to railroad a niche sport of speedway and make it uniform with all their other motor sport disciplines . Speedway of Nations, New Scoring system, Qualifying. All mostly a step backwards for speedway . Personally don't see anything wrong with the open draw, if anything more effort should go into ensuring that 1 gate is not significantly better than the other 3.

    SON 2020

With the rules as they are , am I right in thinking that with Dan Bewley named as the u21 rider, one of GB's senior riders will not be required to take any rides in the meeting if Bewley is used as their substitute in every ride ?

    SON 2020

Just a message to anyone at BSI towers. Have you seen the weather we are currently getting in the UK this October. Rain, wind , storms , single digit temperatures. At this time of year speedway tracks that are wet never dry out, the temperature does not allow it. By having an October SON at Belle Vue you risk having a mud bath at one of the sports great circuits. Please have a rethink and select a more favorable date earlier in the year.

    SON 2020

Agree, Dan Bewley has had this season in the top division in Poland, we can't shield all our young riders for ever, isn't this Dan's last year as an under 21. 2 days of SON will be great experience, as it will be for Robert Lambert leading the team. Lambert, Bewley plus an under 21 rider for me
  22. As has previously been posted if you finish 7th or 8th in an 8 round GP series you are a top rider and deserving of your place. For all the call for fresh faces there are simply not many riders out there who are significantly better than those in the whole field and definitely not better than the top 8. I take it your a fan of the new scoring system, fine but I think you are in a minority. The crux of the series is to find a deserving World Champion, not to fudge it so that it always comes down to the last race of the season. Maybe we should award double points in the last round to give all the top six a crack at being champion on the last round . Sorry forget I ever said that. I fully understand how the system works but prefer the World Championship table to evolve throughout the meeting , not have to wait until heat 20 before it takes shape. Each to their own I suppose.

    SON 2020

So his SGP license is different to his SON license ?
  24. iwright71

    SON 2020

In the 2 SGP rounds at Wroclaw he was announced as representing Poland
  25. Lets go back to top 8 qualify then. Just a change for change sake as usual which hasn't worked. As per the scoring system, bin that as well. Summed it up last night after heat 2 when Pearson said you're going to have to wait a couple of hours before we have any idea how the World Championship will start to look.
