28 minutes ago, Phil The Ace said:Which is what JYe said. He probably left his car at stanstead and was going to drive up. And I know for sure in past Jason always travels to belle Vue in his own car when
He can pick me up next time I'm 5 mins from the terminal!

12 minutes ago, AceBelle said:the simple fact of this Lidsey was at same meeting he is here doyle is not why would you fly to stanstead ??? SCB will certainly ask the the question if one rider makes it no excuse not to be there !!
Because he lives in East Anglia so presumably he'll have flown out to Poland from there and left his vehicle at Stansted

As someone who travels regularly on A14 i and out of Suffolk etc and also on M1 / M42 / M5 whilst sat navs are now extremely accurate with timing it only takes an accident en route to scupper that timing!
I've been to Belle Vue from here several times, the time suggested looks reasonable to me. Delays can happen but there are alternative routes from here also if the M6 is stuffed..

I live 10 mins from Stansted.
3 hours 47 mins to Belle Vue if I left now and it would be quicker than that if I'd left at 1pm

Plus the ref had the benefit of tv replays, King exc looked the right call to me from the back straight

Track was decent despite the weather
Birmingham were good especially in the early heats when Witches weren't gating
Milik and Lampart were better than I thought they might be.
Flint had a bad night but he's much better than that
Ellis very good for the witches when he gated and Thompson was excellent and on the pace throughout

2 hours ago, Ray Stadia said:I don't know why these developers like to create so much conflict. If the land is so valuable for housing, why doesn't the developer work with the action group and the council, so a 3 way committee, to find a piece iof land, unsuitable for development, but ideal for a speedway track and build a stadium similar to Workington. Yes, a track in field, but what has been achieved at Workington, I think is marvelous. That way, BE get to build their houses, the council get more council tax and speedway gets Coventry Speedway again.
There was already a track in situ at Workington with permission.
Finding the land and getting permission is the difficult bit, see Wolves

7 hours ago, Chris said:They have put in for retrospective planning on the spectator stand that they turned into a gymnastics centre. They lied in 2020 and said the size of the building hadn't changed so didn't need to apply for planning permission.
They stuck a huge extension on the end as a viewing area
They are currently being investigated by East Herts District Council planning enforcement for this breach and others
It sums up the state of planning in this country that you can put in for retrospective planning just when the investigation for the breach is coming to an end
In the overall scheme of things, it doesn't mean a great deal. The area of the track is where it matters. How long can they keep a white elephant after paying out a tidy sum for the lease?
Maybe the OP just saw the planning application and presumed it was for the stadium
Anyway let's hope this one gets refused

36 minutes ago, Chris said:Why?
It appears that a retrospective planning application to East Herts Council was submitted and validated by the council last week

3 hours ago, Wee Eck said:No. Because he’s not in Birmingham’s 1-7
He's been replaced by Nicholls as an injury replacement so there's no ban that is appropriate
If he starts riding in Poland but not in Birmingham then that's a different matter

14 hours ago, Wee Eck said:Why would Pawlicki serve a 28 day ban? He’s apparently injured so not withholding his services and has been replaced in the 1-7 with a short term replacement.
Isn't his point that if he rides in Poland but doesn't return for Birmingham then he'll be deemed to be withholding services?
-
Sometimes it's better to say nothing or say he'll be there if treatment permits
-
There may of course be a relaxation in planning laws at some point by a future government if BE want to/can play the long game

Bham support will eventually dwindle to a non going concern whilst LR is orchestrating things!
That is a fact!
CVS runs his own show, I'd be amazed if he'd consider working for anyone else

Presumably they'll have to sign a replacement, no facility for someone who hasn't ridden for you?

1 hour ago, Chris said:It should have happened a couple of years ago but at least the licence has been revoked. The further Russell and Osbourne are away from any possible involvement the better.
The Abbey is dead in the water. Osbourne wouldn't let the speedway back out of spite now anyway
At least it gives a chance for a consortium to get together and put pressure on the council to provide a plot of land after their awful handling of the planning process at the Abbey
It wouldn't have happened earlier unless there were financial issues. Rights are protected for 3 years.
Whether they need to change that rule is another thing

3 hours ago, hagonshocker said:As I was reliably informed Russell has finally had his racing licence revoked . Taylor Wimpey being investigated, Orrible Osborne showing his true colours nationally and now this....I know this guarantees nothing but it's a positive at least , ridding the sport of Terry hopefully
Promotional rights are normally protected for 3 seasons so if you discount the 2020 covid season then this appears to be the case here.

Same as Coventry really you don't need the Grandstand to run speedway at the Showground, it helps but it's not essential

Can't see Pawlicki being an 8, if he lives up to his assessed average he'll have done well
-
6 hours ago, Toady said:Perhaps if they could have ,they would have and most certainly should (Swiftly)have.
I'm fairly sure that the rule used to be (it might still be I don't know) that your licence was protected for 3 years from closure provided of course the finances were in order.
After that they could entertain applications from any interested parties
Anyone know the up to date position

49 minutes ago, Daniel Smith said:Is this a serious post?? Football stadiums are 24 days for 90mins??
Club shops 7 days a week, executive suites 7 days a week, 7 days a week restaurants, function suites, stadium tours, charity work, 100s of office staff required 7 days a week.
Plus Football stadiums are, in the main, owned by the clubs themselves

I live in East Herts, they don't take much notice of anything sadly apart from the guidance telling them how much they can put up council tax bills by and cut refuse collections
I wouldn't hold your breath on this
