  1. Oh great ~ just what we needed ~ another negative topic. Why don't you have a cup of tea and then take a walk outside in the sunshine, listen to the birds singing and relax.

    Leicester 2019

Poole did that with Coventry in 2010 and look what happened there.
  3. Any chance of me getting a reply as to who on Facebook I am supposed to have 'ganged up on' because that's a pretty upsetting thing to be accused of. PM if you like.
  4. Where on earth do you get your ideas from? I really think you have the wrong person on Facebook as I mostly only post nature photos of my daily trips round our local nature reserve or my 2 dogs. I just don't understand why you are being so horrible. Your sense of humour has obviously gone as well because 'menopause' was a joke and I'm afraid I sailed through mine many years ago.
  5. Plodding on thank you. Not easy living with someone with dementia so it's nice to come on here for a bit of relaxation and read all the nice comments and mingle with happy people.
  6. Dont know what I have done to deserve that remark and no history as far as I know. We are even friends on Facebook. Strange but its perhaps because I used to be a Coventry fan and hate Poole.
  7. Gee thanks. Where have I said I condone bullying? I was responding to Steve Shovlars post because the last time I checked this is a forum for opinions and that is mine. Starman is always dishing out insults so he should expect some back. If he gets so wound up by Gavan just sticking him on ignore would be the sensible thing to do.
  8. Well, perhaps he should think before he posts what he does. Never seems to comment on any matches or join in discussions just insults anyone who dares to mention Poole in less than glowing terms. Deserves all he gets back.

    0-0 ?

Wish I'd picked Newcastle now as I can spell that. So presumably Middlesbrough? The English language is so difficult I'm surprised anyone can learn it. I mean why is it Loughborough not Loughbrough then, which is not far from us and why on earth is Leicester spelt like that. What's wrong with Lester?
  10. Try the one who is a Speedway fan and lives in Swindon. Black/White photo ~ dodgy haircut ~ glasses. Member of the Swindon Robins Supporters Group.

    0-0 ?

If we are including whole matches then I seem to remember going over to Long Eaton when the visiting team refused to ride so the Long Eaton riders got 5-0's in every race. I think the other team was Middlesborough.

    0-0 ?

You're not wrong as that's exactly what happened. One by one the riders were excluded leaving Rick Miller to race by himself but he was deemed not to have been making a bona fide attempt to race so was excluded. Referee was my friend Geoff Dalby and he went down in my estimation that day.

    Airhorn Thoughts

Are they different now? Haven't been to a GP since I got Lucy in 2010.

    Airhorn Thoughts

Are you going to the British GP in Cardiff? If so prepare to be deafened. Air horns are great and help to create atmosphere but some tracks don't allow them. You sound nice and conscientious so as long as you are pointing it upwards and not in someone's ear I would go ahead. If you gradually find you're standing on your own you will know other fans don't appreciate the noise.

    Lions v Glasgow 17th August

Even with a good track to ride on it's usually the case that N.L. riders are more prone to falling as they are not so experienced so what would happen if it had been the other way around on Saturday and we were hanging around for ages waiting for the match to eventually finish before the more important Lions v Glasgow one could start? And yes I have watched loads of N.L. matches going back to the Cougars and The Storm at Coventry and the Bees riding at Leicester.

    Lions v Glasgow 17th August

Glad I left after the Lions match too as it takes me ages to walk back to the car park and I would only have been able to watch a few NL heats before my 4 hours was up. My first visit back since the long delay during the Redcar match and sadly I can't say I really enjoyed it enough for it to be worth the pain and effort it takes me to get there these days. Pretty much follow the leader racing apart from the last couple of heats, although the score line kept it interesting.
  17. Were they actually leaving or just getting near to the exit ready to run for it as soon as heat 15 finished? I know people do that at Leicester, also Coventry in the past.

    Medical Cover

Glad I decided to go home after the Lions match and not watch some of the N.L heats., to make sure I didn't go over the 4 hour's allowed in the car park as it takes me ages to walk back. My first visit since the long delay during the Redcar meeting.........don't think I will say anything else except I hope the rider recovers quickly.

    Leicester 2019

It was for me at the time and I'm sure it was for a lot of others as well, including some who were attending for the first time. I haven't been since but now Bates has gone I am going to try to get my interest back again and hope to get there on Saturday, so not exactly the final straw for me.......yet.
  20. SORRY..........I HAVE JUST SEEN ONE ON THE NEXT PAGE. There never seems much interest in starting Leicester match topics so here goes.......taken from the Lions website. It's today! 4pm. LEICESTER hand a debut to new signing Ty Proctor in Sunday’s big Championship clash with Sheffield at the Paul Chapman & Sons Arena (4pm).Proctor has joined the Watling JCB Lions as a replacement for the injured Josh Bates, and in a major irony his first appearance for the club will be against his former side. The Australian was in good form prior to his release by the Tigers as they looked to move back to a seven-man team following the injury to Broc Nicol, and it means Todd Kurtz and Justin Sedgmen are newcomers to the Sheffield line-up on Sunday.Proctor said: “The team-mates I’ve left behind at Sheffield are a really good bunch of guys, and riding in my first meeting for Leicester against some good friends of mine who I’ve been riding with for most of the year is going to be an awkward situation.“But at the end of the day I’m here to do a job and I’ve been brought here to do what I do best, and that’s to win races.“I’ve been speaking to a lot of people lately and I think they’re right in what they say – a change really can rejuvenate things.”Elsewhere in the Lions’ side, Aaron Summers makes a guest appearance in place of the injured Richie Worrall, and that sees him come in at No.1 with new August averages seeing skipper Scott Nicholls switch to No.5.Following the Championship action, the Roger Webster Lion Cubs take centre stage in the semi-finals of the National League KO Cup.The Cubs visit Stoke in the first leg on Saturday (7pm) before hosting the Potters in the return. That means 30 heats of action on Sunday afternoon with admission prices set at £20 for adults, £17 concessions and children go free as usual. With Luke Ruddick and Joe Thompson still on the sidelines, Mildenhall’s Matt Marson comes in to guest in the Potteries, with his team-mate Charlie Brooks taking over for the return.LEICESTER: Aaron Summers, Ellis Perks, Ty Proctor, Ryan Douglas, Scott Nicholls, Joe Lawlor, Connor Mountain.SHEFFIELD: Danny King, Todd Kurtz, Drew Kemp, Justin Sedgmen, Kyle Howarth, Zaine Kennedy, Josh MacDonald.LEICESTER (Sunday): Danyon Hume, Dan Thompson, Joe Thompson R/R, Charlie Brooks, Ellis Perks, Ryan MacDonald, Ryan Terry-Daley. STOKE (Sunday): Tom Perry, Shelby Rutherford, Joe Lawlor, Luke Priest, David Wallinger, Kieran Douglas, Kean Dicken.
  21. I am still interested but just not able to attend at the moment Bates or no Bates.
  22. I am not that desperate. lol. Just happen to belong to the Leicester group that he posted on but he has plenty of adoring fans so I am sure he won't be bothered what I think.
  23. Lol. Not while he's in the team thanks. According to his remarks on Facebook he is going to carry on riding how he does and isn't going to 'calm down' so there we have it. On the other hand I think he did untold harm to Leicester Speedway with the way he rode the few hundred yards of heat 3 of the Redcar match but you can't fix stupid and he obviously thinks he did nothing wrong. I'd say a good percentage of those who decided to leave after well over an hour's hanging around won't bother coming back.
  24. No. With apologies to my friend False dawn as I will miss seeing him and all the others who make a fuss of Lucy. By the way anyone who receives a parking ticket because of last week's long delayed meeting send it to Josh Bates.
