  1. Someone from the promotion must have accepted the work carried out to their satisfaction for it to be handed over. If the track was not fit for purpose as claimed it can't have been on the friday when bv riders were riding on it. Thus as far as I,m concerned its the promotion who's at fault for not calling it off. I,ve read lots of comments on here and people have lots of valid points. From my own point of view. I was at Warsaw for the Gp and Belle Vue last sat. It seems now that the riders have a lot more say about whether meetings should run or not. Those tracks were rideable After all ,these riders are some of the best in the world they should be able to ride them and put on a show for the paying public. Does this mean now that we can go to any track on a perfect day weather wise and find that riders won't ride because it could be over watered or too deep, too slick the list is endless for excuses. I know safety is paramount in all motor sports, All the riders no the risks that's part of the game. If they don,t want to take the risks involved they should maybe do another sport. Or should it be banned altogether as its now too dangerous. I fear for its existence if things carry on as it is.

    Warsaw Gp Saturday 18th April

As quoted above about the shale. It would be interesting to know when the shale was actually shipped to poland. If it was stored, where and for how long. IMO and I,m just guessing the shale was transported directly from the docks off the ship to the stadium. That could explain why the track builders were in the stadium two days before starting building it. From a logistical point of view 3000 tonnes of shale would take roughly 120 truck loads and the cost of transporting it from the docks to a store then re-loading it to take to the stadium would be doubled. Not to mention the storage costs. There has been lots of talk about how much moisture is in the shale and now how it supposed to be monitored. If my assumptions are correct no wonder the track was not up to expectations. Really though the main reason the meeting didn't continue was the tapes not working properly. The riders should of done another ride each then semi's and final. If they wouldn't do that then they shouldn't of got paid. There seemed to be no leadership,My friends can't believe I travelled to Poland to watch less than 12 minutes of racing!. The damage to speedway is done now though.

    Warsaw Gp Saturday 18th April

I was at the GP and would just like to make a few comments because I,m so peed off. It was a complete shambles from the first race. What makes it even worse is the leading officials of the meeting were British...what an embarrassment. why was there not a second starting gate in place like at cardiff in previous years?.. Even Workington have a double starting gate. Why did the shale have to come from the UK?..Is it true that a meeting has to complete 16 heats to be declared a result?..I,m thinking back to a rainy meeting GP in Gothenburg some years ago... I,m just interested in peoples thoughts..we had VIP tickets so even a portion of that back would be quite a few quid as there were four of us. Has anyone any thoughts on having a completely new form of starting gate?..the current starting gate idea must be over 50 years old. In today's high tech world there must be something better??
