  1. Rain off virtually guaranteed. Weather warning for high winds and heavy rain for Sunday & Monday.
  2. Been saying that most of the season, how we have escaped a fine is incredible. Even James Grieves has taken 1.5 points off his starting average in what must be his worst season in speedway. A quick look at the new green sheets shows Anders on 3.53 effective from today, unbelievably he is still too high to be at reserve, where he deserves his chance! The only surprise is Bager still commands an average over 5, surely the BSPA calculator is playing up.
  3. Interesting point. He was withdrawn on Sunday after being concussed with a head knock. Do riders still have an automatic 7 day ban for this or does it only apply in the UK?
  4. Also reflects the standard of rider on show, both teams aren't bottom for nothing.
  5. Wonder if Anders withdrawal today will count for his average. Today was his 9th match with Plymouth home in a fortnight being his 10th. Is it 10 matches for an average, 12 for an asset? No doubt Berwick are watching the situation !
  6. Finally a Sunday without a home defeat. Based on the racing a draw was a fair result however 8 points from Maassen r/r more than helped Sheffield to a draw. Albin looked decent after a poor first ride, working hard for his points. You could be forgiven in some heats for wondering if it was Bager who had never seen the track before. Ringwood was excellent when he gated, four race wins by ht8 then not a lot thereafter. Dakota North also looked much better. With one more PL match left for Glasgow, regardless of how it finishes we will end the season with single figure points, and deservedly so!
  7. Lamberts double figures came during the single lane season of 2010 when if you gated there wasn't enough track width to get passed. Can only see a repeat of two weeks ago, hopefully !
  8. Doolan being injured could save us from another hiding. Lawson and Wells are thoroughly decent at Ashfield and Compton looks to have picked up since he joined Sheffield. Thankfully Lambert isn't decent and Albin will be a bit if a mystery. Whether we can win the reserve points though remains to be seen. Glasgow are still far too sh!te and inconsistent, and can only see another away win.
  9. Glasgow must be running out of work permits! Full clear out next year, genuine No1, no assessed averages, full points allocation used from day 1.
  10. That was brutal today, consistently outgated in another dismal display. Some harsh words from Stewart Dickson when interviewed, all ring true. Thomson is a passenger at No4, though he's following by example with Bager. Dakota North got stuck in and tried hard just Lanham was too cute for him in ht10. I agree also that the riding order is wrong, North should be at 4 with Thomson at 2. Next week when Sheffield come, some carefully selected guests for them could give us another similar scoreline. Hopefully we can get a better guest than Lemon!
  11. And the fans, wrong decisions made at the start of the season, though crowds are still healthy. The track, facilities and entertainment have all improved but team building lessons need to be learned for 2014.
  12. Hopefully rattle a few cages and get the best out of the underperformers. He may have his work cut out with Lemon though !
  13. Will probably have to be a Monarch with Berwick, Worky and Newcastle all riding tonight. Sounds like Vissing took a battering last night so who knows!
  14. If its r/r for Screen, Ipswich will have a field day.
  15. We'll be needing a team manager now as well!
  16. Bager 0 1 1 1 = 3+1 Not even cutting it as a second string never mind the third heat leader we need him to be. Hopelessly inconsistent and surely can't be retained next year.
  17. If we can get Thomsen to do all the matches this season he will be a decent starting reserve for 2014 with around a 4.00 average. Though he really needs to get the engine problems sorted. Just like Grieves, Bager also has had an awful season. Don't think it matters the riding order anymore we just need to hope that just once this season everyone performs on the same day and we somehow win at home.
  18. Not a good night for Glasgow or Grieves, again. Potentially Screen's last ride if he is injured. Incredible that Anders Thomsen gets the nod for ht15 having only scored 4 to that point. Sums up our season.
  19. Ipswich are a more balanced side than Somerset last week and look decent throughout their 1-7. Think that will make them too strong for us and another away win. Won't be too disappointed if its as entertaining as last Sunday and a last heat decider.
  20. If James Grieves could get some speed into his engines hopefully he could get beyond the 5 or so points he is getting at home. Again Glasgow are too inconsistent to predict anything. What we get from North or Bager is anyones guess. Can only see a decent home win.
  21. Happened right in front of me, North wiped out Newman big style. From the apex of the bend you could see he wasn't going to make the pass. Frustrating as a cooler head could have seen Newman was being reeled in and would have got him at the next bend. An additional two points from the resultant 4-2 could have won us the match but ended up being reversed with North chucked out. He has done very little from the No2 berth since joining Glasgow other than Sheffield away, his gating is poor and all the signs seem to be he is finding the PL tougher than expected.
  22. Enjoyed today's match despite the scoreline. We had a bit of luck with Morris coming off trying too hard and Grajczonek also when his bike seemed to die on the fourth bend when leading. However North's stupid bringing down of Newman in ht8 was just desperate when he had the speed and laps to pass him. He was also racing Screen in his previous heat for no obvious reason. No complaints about Screen today, plenty about Grieves who was slow as sh*t again. Thought Ringwood was unlucky in ht12 to be excluded when Doyle came across to block the outside but locked up leaving Ringwood nowhere to go but run into him. Its tough going at the bottom!
  23. Says in the programme that its Glasgow's intention to declare at the AGM in November they will be running in 2014 . Perhaps the dropping of the price for the Sportsmans Dinner by £10 suggests not many tickets have sold and the fence won't pay for itself.
