  1. 100% .. But only if they had more than six teams to dream it up about obviously.

But "in the interests of Speedway", you never know...

To be fair to them.. They will need to be factoring in Bomber's availability... As soon as he informs them of his schedule they will release dates... Three teams to represent... And as an added bonus he will be able to jump across the podium to get three medals as they get presented...

So that's all that Sheffield can offer you as "fun" arnie? When it gets darker you will get joined by a few locals having a disco, dancing under the traffic lights as they change colour...

It might be difficult to fit this meeting in again with the same riders missing... There may be a few worried that they wont have any fixture clashes..

Yes... Go to the station and get a train to Manchester..
  7. Poole seem to be doing very well crowd wise since they dropped down a level...
  8. Certain teams do have "NDL" written all over them... A level that they can be "successful" at rather than always being an annual "also ran", and unable to really compete in the level above.. Many Championship teams are the same, big fish in a small pond, but unable to compete with the level above.. No idea why promoters take the risks they do moving up, especially considering none of the leagues bring any real media coverage or great financial rewards.. Ego maybe? Rubbing shoulders with "better riders"? Seems daft to risk your club to try and win something that will probably cost you more to win yet not get any guarantee that the increased costs will be covered through an increased attendance.. As many have said, two leagues, one professional and one very much semi professional/new starters has to be a consideration.. A "Premiership Lite" and an "NDL Plus"... With each club going into whichever league based on their organic growth position in the sport..
  9. I am not saying it is relevant. .. Far from it.... It just has as much relevance as pretty much every meeting in the UK... Not pointless though, as it no doubt helps Birmingham run 'x' number of meetings which may be part of their contract and also gives 14 riders another meeting... Which is essentially why UK Speedway is ran. ..

    Cardiff 2022

Do I get to have a tartan blanket across my knee (with tassels)...? If so... Count me in.... Not sure I want wrapping in cellophane though. ..
  11. I would say it has as much relevance as many, many other meetings that get ran.. Cherry picking riders is "par for the Speedway course" it seems, virtually every evening, so why not take the opportunity to try and entice some fans of a defunct local team to your track..? Even if just 100 turn up it will be more than the vast majority of away teams will ever bring...

Is that the Wikipedia definition of UK Speedway?

    Time to move on

But it's a "new era" for the sport.. Or should that read "error"? Eurosport doing what Eurosport does..

Tell them Danielle Bewley won on Saturday then..

    Cardiff 2022

Having read all the last contributions... We must all have it wrong... It's all about the racing surely?? Young Dan Bewley won, a great kid, truly in that group of exciting GB riders that come along once in a generation, but it seems "its the racing what really counts"... "Dribble. Dribble. 100,000 more fans would watch next week in the UK if the racing was good at Cardiff. Blur. Blur. Dribble. Dribble. etc etc etc".... Dan Bewley won... Cardiff will never add many fans to UK Speedway, but it definitely wont take any away, regardless of the racing... And once more... Dan Bewley won.. Let's just celebrate that...

    Cardiff 2022

Having a 19 year old with me meant my budget needed "stretching" somewhat.. . On my own I would have gone for one night and comfortably spent less than £200 easy.... And still had a great time... Might leave him at home next year...

    Cardiff 2022

For me.... The lad got the tickets (kerching) - £80 Two nights Ibis for both of us £270 with breakfast. (Very nice, yum yum)... Spending Money £200 (we had a couple of good evenings. .) Petrol/Taxis £100... £570 in total for me. .. I save money during the year by not attending many domestic meetings, and instead getting my Speedway fix on TV, often on every day/night of the week with the UK, Sweden, Denmark, Poland's 3 leagues, SEC, SON and the GP's.... Therefore. £570 is just over a tenner a week for 3 days/2 nights of "fun" in a welcoming, speedway focused for the weekend, modern city... Not been for five years and loved every minute of it, apart from the track grading.. Oh. And the racing was a bit crap too. ... Great to see speedway in such places, with a crowd running into tens of thousands not tens of hundreds... Booking later for next year to hopefully see Dan defend his crown, and increase his lead in the Championship...

It is also the reason they need wider entrances and exits to bends nowadays too, as the bikes are pretty much "virtually sideways" before they are even "in the bend" at some tracks... Meaning less room to go under or around for those behind at lots of circuits.. The NSS being almost the "perfect template" to follow as going in to bends "sideways" there will not only scrub off speed but also, given how much space exists, provide plenty of room to pass for those not bringing the back wheel round so quickly, and letting the bike "run" instead....

Watching a lot of "old stuff" on YT it is noticeable how the riders would often "free wheel" into the turns and then put the power on when into the bend and bring the back wheel around.. Similar to the way grasstrack racers do... I presume it was down to the deep cinders...? Lots of races were won by riders passing others who were "hopping" around after hitting a deep part of the track.... And they used throttle control to control the bikes reaction... It also meant plenty of entertainment for those watching... Some of the races on Saturday had riders showing this "old school" style, but the likes of Bewley and Zmarzlik kept full on the gas and definitely got advantage for it... Those brought up on GB tracks like Bewley, Doyle and Holder certainly seemed better equipped to deal with the problems (even though Doyle kept falling off)... Which probably says something about GB track preparation... Zmarzlik is obviously just a once in a generation world class rider who is fearless and can ride anything. ..
  21. Maybe it was the wrong type of sun.?...
  22. They had only booked the stadium till Tuesday....
  23. As I was sat there today, my life ebbing away watching "World Championship Tyre Packing"... I thought to myself... As we seem to have doubled track maintenance time, why could we not have halved the 2 minute warning to at least get some of that waiting time back... And also sent the riders back to the tapes for every re run, rather than them all sit there waiting at the pits, getting all the set up adjustments done that they wished they had had before the race began... Listening to Sweet "4kin" Caroline on a continuous loop would have been the only thing worse than watching this heap of mis managed "Barry White" today..
  24. I think Jan Kvech would agree... Sure he rode for Exeter in the 70's....
