As I have already said if you cared to read my posts, its horses for courses.  A school teacher can be struck off if convicted for behaviour outwith his school, you would not put a paedophile in charge of a nursery, Raith fans will tell you what happened when they tried to sign rapist David Goodwillie.   You commit a crime, you do the time.  As I have said I have no problem with him being a plumber although I wouldnt want him to be going into the homes of elderly or vulnerable.  He can be a labourer if he wants or any other number of jobs.  He has though forfeited his right to a sports position where he would benefit from sponsorship and get publicity and could possibly be seen by young or vulnerable as a 'hero' because he can ride a bike well.  He's not a hero, he is a violent thug who served time for what he did to an elderly disabled individual in their own home.  Let him get on with his life away from speedway - the sport does enough to make it less appealing to possible new supporters without the ruling body being stupid enough to see that allowing him back as a rider will give every nimby in the land extra ammunition to object to speedway and speedway tracks.

Hardly anyone outside the few thousand who follow the sport would even notice if he came back into Speedway...

It isn't like any return would drive tens of thousands away...

As that has already been done by others down the years...

And if anyone wants to make a stand by not going should any convicted  criminal be riding then let them....

Plenty more will still turn up regardless of his presence....

And, if we are now only allowing ex cons to do certain jobs, why should others then be made to work with them? Other "labourer's" in your scenario may not want him there with them for example...

Therefore, what jobs does society say ex cons can do without someone having a protest?

The bottom line is hardly anyone in this country has heard of Speedway, let alone Jason Garrity...

Thanks to everyone who has taken time to object, anyone who has not now is the time.Always surprises me how few riders and officials object as they would be the main beneficiaries of a saved stadium.

A distinct lack of any co-ordination by the governing body to the majority of closures..

Is it because there isnt enough riders to fill any extra teams? Hence it is "better" to let some simply disappear?

Imagine if the dozen or so tracks that have closed in circa the last decade where still running?

That would need over 80 riders..:o

Yet better racing in last 2 heats than there was in 15 heats at Leicester last week.

On these "grippy nights", where the racing always improves later in the meeting, why not let the riders do 6 practice laps or so each before the racing..?

That would be 84 laps, the equivalent of around 5 races worth of match laps..

Moving the dirt out so, meaning the inside grip reduces, hopefully making the racing improve quicker..

  4. Some of our lads do appear to have a bigger expectation of them than maybe their capability level would currently warrant...

Messrs Screen, Loram, Woffinden, Lambert and Bewley were, whilst well under 21, beating world level heat leaders regularly...

Wouldn't be a bad thing to lower expectation, and therefore pressure, on these lads..

If they reach HL level in Div 2 and No6/SS level in Div 1, it will be an achievement...

All of this cancelling meetings shenanigans needs setting down in the rules in some way, there's far too much of it going on by many clubs in all leagues

Just give both teams one point each...

No one gets paid so no costs to the clubs, and also, maybe, the riders would be more inclined to ride when "less than 100%"? Which as the years go by, is becoming less and less the norm..

Apart from obviously, in October when "all of a sudden," play offs take place in all sort of conditions...

not sure why this has stoked up so much controversy.  witches clearly weakened by doyle’s absence.  no reason doyle would choose to miss the meeting.  early intervention taken by the witches management to ensure they field a competitive side…

Two riders missing should see the match not even taking place...

Ipswich Select is OK as a testimonial meeting team, but not OK as a team to be involved in a professional UK Sports League..

were you on next row to him ? how would you know that ???

I remember that photo from Matej in his Manchester hotel room the night it was rumoured he wasn't going to make it..

Sent to social media about half ten at night..

Luckily we had a flood so the meeting got called off anyway....:D

Climate change hitting Gorton in isolation that night. Unlucky...

oh well another SCB statement incoming!

"We run the sport week in, week out, with Mickey Mouse, make it up as we go along rules, and no one complains, therefore, as always, there is absolutely nothing to see here, move along please, have you no homes to go to please. And if anyone thinks we don't have a clue what we are doing, explain how we increased the amount of opportunities for guests this year, see? eh?, visionary that, visionary, put that in your pipe and smoke it, keyboard warrior's".....

"Oh! And 7 day ban, to start from the next date when Ipswich don't have a meeting for the next 7 days"...
