Listed as 3 groups of 3 on the British Speedway site - https://britishspeedway.co.uk/2024-bsn-series/ I'd imagine this is how it will stay?
-
I don't think there is enough meetings to do this anymore unfortunately, otherwise you'd be racing 3 of your 8 away league matches in a single weekend.
-
I agree! Was looking through his CL averages over the years and it reminds you how dominant and consistent he's been at this level. "Bad" seasons have still been 9 point averages. 2009 Workington 3.93 2010 Workington 7.47 2011 Edinburgh 8.09 2012 Edinburgh 9.99 2013 Edinburgh 10.83 2014 Edinburgh 10.41 2015 Edinburgh 10.47 2016 Peterborough 9.67 2017 Workington 10.37 2018 Glasgow 11.05 2019 Glasgow 10.71 2021 Glasgow 9.46 2022 Glasgow 8.98 2023 Edinburgh 9.08

C'est magnifique Hooky Street

It was Saturday 3pm this season if people don't know that. Personally no good for me as I play local sport at the same time. I'm sure the promotion would avoid clashes with the England matches, they aren't daft, plus it's not going to be weekly Speedway. And I don't think anyone will be missing a meeting because of the Olympics!

Full update here - https://workingtoncomets.com/promoters-update-for-2024/ Shame it’s going to be afternoon racing again. Maybe make progress on lighting for 2025
-
Hope so! Would certainly up his average. Redcar are revealing their whole team on the 9th December so may know either way then
-
Connor Bailey not going to be in the 2024 team then?
-
BSPL site uploaded a photo of Jason Edwards in a Sheffield racejacket at the same time of the Woffy/Holder one, guess that's tomorrow's announcement
-
They are yes, it's in their statement - https://oxfordspeedway.club/2023/11/oxford-speedway-confirm-sensational-return-to-the-premiership-as-oxford-spires-the-citys-newest-professional-sports-club/

Believe the 3 signings to be announced by Saturday are Woffinden, Jack Holder and Jason Edwards
-
I don't think PL would of ever been in consideration surely. It came from 1 person who put a random comment on here 4 pages back. We all know what league will have the best close racing next year with tracks like Scunny, Glasgow, Redcar and Workington

Simon Lambert said on FB he's off to new ventures too!
-
But if you live in the real world, and not a London bubble, these are the costs
-
Only saving 30 minutes by going to Newcastle, still 2 hours to get there. That flight is actually £100 if you want to check a bag in and have a seat. Oh and pay £74.99 for the pleasure of parking. Starts to add up and that's just a fraction of it.
-
I'll state another fact for you, it's technically free to get to Rugby. Now work that one out and see how daft it sounds... It's basically the same way you'd get to fly to Tenerife for £58
-
Wow, you must be truly deluded then or have never flown from an airport. Would love to see your breakdown of costs. It's also a real misconception that flying to a Poland GP is cheaper overall, because of the same said 'hidden' costs of budget airlines, airport parking/extras, distance to airport, hotels at airport etc. Poland has very much caught up with hotel prices. It's okay googling flights or using Skyscanner, what is your cost before getting to said destination. If you can get from Workington to Tenerife for under £250 you are a miracle worker, would be more like £350, then similar priced hotels on top at least £200 (i've looked these are the cheapest). 2 nights in Coventry Premier Inn is less than £200. Sick of replying with the same FACTS now, I'm struggling to understand how you don't get how it works?
-
Do you actually believe it's cheaper to go to tenerife rather than Rugby? Or still trying to wind the previous poster up, I'm intrigued haha.
-
I can see why you'd think this, but it happens in the real world.. Last october I actually got flown out to munich by one of our international telecomms vendors and spent 3 days at Oktoberfest striking out a new contract, even though it's a different scenerio, unnecessary things happen.
-
Think you're talking a little twaddle yourself, £31 to tenerife? Maybe from a southern airport if you book pretty far in advance. This is what draws people into cheap holidays. Flights in 3 months time are £100 from Manchester. 3/4 days parking at Manchester airport alone would be at least £90, then you pay for seat reservations, baggage and £50 round trip in fuel at least. Likely £200 at least before you even get to tenerife. I'm not bothered where they host it could be on the moon for all I care, but surely it doesn't make an Einstein to work this out? Surely the topic can be moved on now. It might not be cheap but they can host where they want, but if it stops chilidsh promoters walking out then so be it.

Unfortunately we had the same feeling at Workington season after season after Tony Mole left the club. The constant cry for wolf by owners, incompetent in workington's case, without proper business plans. I hope that saturday night racing helps the cause going forward, but it has this inevitable feeling of 'when not if' it closes. Hopefully that date is some way off. It's going to be harder than ever to keep tracks open that are sorely for racenights only, and not used by other means.

Richie has some kind of business converting VW campers, probably doesn’t rely on speedway to make a living
-
-
Looks like Richie is done with speedway from his latest post!
-
Ha that was quick! Someone must be reading, there is certain other stuff on there too re 2024 that isn't exactly hidden
