    Rye House Practice

I can post it on the track activity thread if there is a contact number that people can call to double-check.
  3. We have around 30 already booked in for Sundays amateur meeting and I'm expecting over fifty again. A few spaces with Wayne Carter for his training school on 14th July. Just let me know if you are interested in either.
  4. Feedback from Saturday (mini track) and Sunday (main track) sessions suggest the weekend just gone was another great one of track activity for Wayne Carter. This coming weekend just sees Wayne have a group booking on the mini track (actually a road racing team coming for their second go) because we have stockcars on the main track. Wayne has just one space available for his next session (Sunday 7th July) but Wayne Gosling and Ivan Howarth have a private practice on the main track (Saturday 6th) that can be joined whilst we have our next amateur meeting on the main track on Sunday 7th. Anyone wanting to take part please just get in touch by emailing me at richard@scunthorpespeedway.com or texting/calling 07832-402167.
  5. Douglas has fun in the sun at Scunny Scunthorpe Scorpions’ reserve Ryan Douglas showed his class by reeling off six wins in Sunday’s amateur meeting at the Eddie Wright Raceway. He defeated Coventry’s Oliver Greenwood, the unattached Danny Phillips, who rode for the Saints in the National League last year, and former pro Gary O’Hare in the final. In total nearly fifty riders competed in 85 races over eight classes and in less than five and a half hours. The number of races was another record, beating April’s eight-four, and there would have been more if Lewis Rose hadn’t have received a phone call to guest in the Premier League at Workington just before his first race. With favourable weather the track stood up exceptionally well and the other class winners were Martin Pearce (Support), Nathan Cheetham (Novice), Reece Downes (Youth 500), Zach Wajtknecht (Youth 250), Jolyon West (Youth 125), Alan Birtwistle (Flat Track) and Jamie Halder (Pit Bikes). Afterwards meeting organiser Richard Hollingsworth was impressed with the number of new riders who had taken part in the meeting “It is always great to welcome new riders and we had six in the novice class today. Young Liam Sellers had first ridden on the minitrack with Wayne Carter just five weeks ago and he made it to the A Final. In fact nearly the whole of the novice class field, and there was eleven in the class, have ridden on the mini track with Wayne. He was helping Liam and too others in their first meetings today and not enough is said about the great work that he does. “He has a session on the main track next week and nearly all those attending have started out on the mini track. It is incredible what he does and we get so much positive feedback about the help he has given riders, be ones who are just coming for a one-off session or those who want to progress in the sport. “If ever there was an unsung hero at Scunthorpe it is Wayne Carter”. The next amateur meeting at Scunthorpe is on Sunday 7th July and places can be reserved by contacting Richard via email (richardh1967@ntlworld.com), Facebook (www.facebook.com/rh1967) or by texting or calling 07832-402167 (please leave a message if unavailable). Flat trackers come to Scunthorpe The next amateur meeting at Scunthorpe’s Eddie Wright Raceway will also feature a round of the British Flat Track Championship run by the Dirt Track Riders’ Association. It will just be the youth classes as the seniors have an additional round on another date. However, it is hoped that there will be a club class for adults to compete in. Any flat track riders wanting to compete need to contact Adam Waller on 01482-323123. Stags to take on Southern Track Riders For the fourth year running the amateur riders at Scunthorpe will take on the Southern Track Riders Club in a home and away two leg challenge. 7. This coming weekend's Wayne Carter session on the minitrack is fully booked. Session after that is 22nd June. Also got over 20 bookings already for the amateur meeting on 16th June. 8. Bookings for the minitrack are really strong at the moment so please book early to avoid disappointment.
  9. Afraid tomorrow's track activity (private practice on main track and a group session with Wayne Carter on the minitrack) has fallen victim to the weather. The forecast for tomorrow is very poor
  10. Hi there. I will email a reply Ariel75 There are spaces still available for the next Wayne Carter session on minitrack (25th May), the Wayne Carter Main Track Training School (2nd June) and our next amateur meeting (16th June). 12. There was some great track activity at Scunny over the weekend. A group booking on the minitrack and a WISS Skids practice accounted for Saturday whilst Wayne Carter's Main Track Training School was once again very popular. This coming weekend we have an amateur meeting on Saturday (13th) will quite a lot of early bookings. If at all possible I would like to do the programme on Thursday night so if I can bookings by then it would be appreciated. Then on Sunday (14th) Wayne Carter is running a session on the mini track and there are still quite a few spaces. Please contact me on 07832-402167 for info or bookings for either.
  13. After a weekend without any main track activity due to Saturday's stockcars I'm pleased to announce we have plenty on over the next fortnight: Sat 6th - WISS Skids Practice 12pm-4pm **bookings required through Wayne & Ivan** Sun 7th - Wayne Carter Main Track Training School 9am-5pm **bookings required** Sat 13th - Amateur Meeting 11am-5pm **bookings required** Sun 14th - Wayne Carter Minitrack Session 12pm-4pm **bookings required** There are still a few spaces on Wayne Carter's Main Track training school next Sunday whilst I am also taking bookings for the amateur meeting and Wayne's minitrack session the week after.
  14. Spaces available for the sessions over the next two weekend. 15. With another poor weather forecast for tomorrowe we have called off the scheduled practice session. Next weekend see the last of our weekly Sunday practices. If anyone wants track/weather updates feel free to call Richard on 07832-402167
  16. With tomorrow's weather forecast quite terrible we have been left with no alternative but to postpone our amateur meeting seven days until Saturday 16th March. Anyone wanting to book in please call Richard on 07832-402167. Sunday's practice is expected to go ahead as planned.
  17. A fantastic week of track activity just gone with a few private hire sessions including The Blast From the Past riders, a Wayne Carter Minitrack session on Saturday and then an excellent practice session on Sunday. Thank you to everyone who came and everyone who helped run them. Next week we have more private hires before we have our amateur meeting on Saturday (bookings/enquiries via richard@scunthorpespeedway.com or 07832-402167 through to Friday evening) and our penultimate Sunday afternoon practice. Further details on the top posting in this thread or via the email/phone number above.
  18. Track was near perfect today. Lots of track time for everyone who came. Next practice is next Sunday 12.30-4.30pm. Just give me a call on 07832-402167 for track/weather updates next weekend.
  19. Two Wayne Carter Training Schools for the main track have been added for April (7th and 28th) whilst there are spaces for his minitrack training session/experience day on 2nd march. This coming weekend we have a practice on Sunday afternoon whilst there is an amateur meeting on 9th March. Also remember that private track hire is available at very competitive rates. Email me at richard@scunthorpespeedway.com or text/call me on 07832-402167 for further information or to make bookings.
  20. All looking great for today's practice. 12.30pm-4.30pm. plenty of track time! Free tea and coffee! All for just £35 ((£25 for under 15s)
  21. A lousy weather forecast for tomorrow means we have cancelled the planned practice. Afraid attempting to run it would be a waste of everyone's time. Sorry! Richard
  22. Track is really good now. Really hard and slick for Saturday's amateur meeting and Sunday's open practice. Taking bookings through to Friday night for the amateur meeting and bookings not required for Sunday. Forecast is really good (but a bit cold) for Saturday but if anyone wants a weather update feel free to call me on 07832-402167 any time. Cheers, Richard
  23. Sorry but this Sunday's practice has also had to be cancelled. Future track activities at Scunthorpe can be viewed in the first posting on this thread.
  24. Following on from the snow and hard frosts we have been encountering this week we have had to cancel this coming weekend's track activity (Wayne Carter Main Track Training School on Saturday, Wayne Carter Mini Track session on Sunday and Main Track Open Practice). In addition the amateur meeting scheduled for 26th January has been put back seven days to 2nd February. It is hoped that we will be able to recommence track action with a main track open practice on Sunday 27th January. Sorry! Richard

    Stoke 2013

I will put it in simpler terms. I believe Tommy Fenwick IS already ready for the National League. He has already acheived a 3 point average from the main body of the Scunthorpe team and has ridden most if not all the tracks. By my reckoning he has already done his initial 'learning on the job' and Stoke need a reserve. For those who haven't seen Tommy ride as much as I have my opinion is that Tommy would be a good signing. There may be other candidates but for the record who would you suggest to fill the gap at Stoke?
