  1. No,but look what happened to Fredericia in taking the title. To challenge Holsted you either overstrech your funds or like Outrup maybe hardly make an effort to run a competetive team but stay within budget. Similar thing happened here with Parchim.Ran out of money part way through the season and fielded a very weak side in the last quali round, even though they still had a good chance of going through to the final
  2. Seems to have forgotten that Copenhagen lies on the coast and that in this of all years was besieged by Nelson.Don't know if he landed on one of the beaches though
  3. Take a look at the map, plenty of beaches around Copenhagen, some probably within the city limits
  4. No garf,i wasn't saying PUK was in the top 3,thats why i put "top" like that.So called top 3,so to say,if they are the 3 riders riding for the World Championship.Hopefully with the qualification coming back it will be better next year, because as things are at the moment the strong nations(Sweden,Poland and Denmark)suffer by having a limit on the amount of riders in the GP. It also worries me a bit that Holsted have the 3 GP riders. Can't be good for Danish league speedway.
  5. Interesting that a lot of people are seeing Olsen behind the decision to swap Iversen for Andersen.Just a thought, but seeing as Nicki,Bjarne and Puk all ride for Holsted and Holsted seem to host most of the top meetings now in Denmark, maybe its the man in power there that has the big say in things.Wonder if there has ever been a team that has had all the "top" riders from one country.Remember Gorzow with Plech and Jancarz, but 3 riders. Just a thought

Still can't make up my mind where i'm going.Think Berlin is the least likely, what with the weakness of the other teams and last years Team Europa stuff. The Russians could field a B and a C team and take all the top spots and it only needs an injury from one of the main European riders and ...... Assen would be my choice but it really has to be a last minute thing and that isn't so easy at Assen so maybe Inzell or Erfurt for me Funnily enough talking about 5 Brits training in Sweden, there is an invitation for up to 5 German riders to train with Jarmo Hirvasoja in Finland. He would then be prepared to help them throughout the season.

    Czestochowa

Fair enough! One of the local football clubs here, regularly publish plans for a new stadium and none have ever been started Think everyone has got bored of hearing the same thing for the last 20 years Well there's no turning back from that!

    Czestochowa

Looks pretty impressive indeed. That is just a model though, does it say it will be finished for the next season?Just wondering.Teterow have also published "plans" for their stadium which look very nice, but doubt they will be built.Obviously a Polish team have a much better chance of acheiving such plans.

    Polish Winter 2005/2006

Thanks Tommy, Yes the reason i asked about other countries was because i thought Miszkolc were being considered. What has happened to Lodz?Just a sponsor change or name change? Was the border trouble, travelling to Ukraine/Latvia less this year?

    Polish Winter 2005/2006

Any news on 2.Liga? What teams will start. Will the Ukraine and Latvians be back? Will more countries enter?
  12. I was going to say it all looked a bit tame on that tight track, until that rider went straight for the crowd. One of them seems to lose his head a few times Thanks Grachan Maybe you can find the footage of Galloway and McKay at Stamford Bridge 1927?

    Strange, But True

Was at a meeting the other day Gem and because of riders not turning up and injuries in one heat there was only one rider. He came out done a lap and was awarded the heat

Yes,Bauer still has another operation ahead of him, then 4 months rehab. His father also died during the summer. He will be Pits boss at Inzell, though. More on the Golden Spike series can be found on the Erfurt site here.

    Strange, But True

The 65-0 match at Peterborough when Birmingham walked out after the ref declared the track fit.Peterborough rode all the heats alone, then drew straws or something to decide who would take the Silver Helmet that Doug Wyer didn't defend. After that there was a junior meeting between the Panthers and Wimbledon rode without incident

    Polish Winter 2005/2006

What is the situation with training schools. Are all clubs left to do there own thing or is the polish federation involved.Where are the best schools.See that a group of youngsters from South Germany spent a week in Poland and also a group from a Danish club had a training camp there as well.

    Swedish News

Hope it goes well for him.Now he has finished his studies he can concentrate on his speedway career next season.I think Martin done the right thing this year by dropping other commitments and concentrating on the Elite league. To be honest,i hope he does the same next season and really gets up into the top half of the averages before taking on other leagues. Didn't realise it was Team Bikab Matze is riding for!

    In Years To Come

I'd have to agree with Kevin.I've seen a few meetings here with sidecar racing and it's not the same as on the longtracks.Quad racing is maybe more suited to smaller speedway tracks. They have also started running shorttrack racing alonside speedway on some tracks here, which has brought howls of protest from some.Think Teterow also had rally cars this year on the Bergring. Would have to say, having been yestarday to a meeting with 2 500cc classes,a sidecar class and 3 different 50/80cc and a 250cc , i much prefer a simple team meeting with maybe a junior group interspersed between the heats.Although the youngsters must get their chance, all the breaks for presentations are boring and lets face it 50cc and 80cc speedway on a normal speedway track are no spectacle either.

    Final Countdown

I think there were quite a few females taking photos Shortoi Hope his celebrations went better than his season. One to forget really. Was expecting him to get on the rostrum, but with a 6 rider final on a small track it was always going to be a tight first bend.Unfortunatelly Henning got taken to the fence by Sorensen and the others went past him.He was then doing wheelies at the back And one way or the other he seems determined to spend next season in Britain,so you'll all be able to see him more often
