    Heathens 2015

Great signing Aaron Mogridge. He'll do well in 2015. As Rob said looked very good at the end of last season. Disappointed he's not riding for Rye though. Certainly I recon Cradley are the team to ride for in the NL, very well supported which is great for the riders and with loads of people on the terraces make a good atmosphere. Unlike at a few NL tracks, Rye House being one where there is hardly anyone there for NL matches, come to think about it there ain't many there for PL matches in recent years either!

    Rye House 2015

Very disappointed Aaron Moggo has decided to ride at Cradley. Can kinda understand, but his dad helps run the training school at Rye and I would have thought he'd have ridden there. But, if he wants to ride without his dad in attendance that's fine, but suspect Alan will be by his side. I kinda guess Cradley are the glamour team of NL speedway and will race infront of good crowds, unlike if he rode at Rye, they'll be a good atmosphere to. Oh and he's probably a bit better of with £ notes at Cradley and possibly will get a bit more sponsorship hopefully. Re who will race for the Raiders? Ben Hopewood is indeed a Rye asset, but traveling from Manchester where he lives? When he rode for the ill fated Hackney team in 2011 he hardly got any local sponsorship. I'm sure Andrew knows what he's doing, but it would be nice if a little more (or any) information was forthcoming.

That's my whole point. You can't have as you put it seven no hopers. Seven 3 point men is only 21 points so there has to be some experience in the team.

    Rye House 2015

There was talk of Luke Bowen leading the Raiders, I'm not sure he's eligible. As Aaron Mogridge hasn't yet signed for anyone that's good and hopefully will ride for the Raiders. He made good progress last year. What we have to bear in mind is there's a minimum points limit so Andrew must have riders who've agreed to be a Raider in 2015. Hopefully it won't be a team of former NL no hopers. Will have to have a ride down to the Rye training school in the new year to pick up the gossip.

Think the changes at Rye thus far so I hear are just the tip of the iceberg.

    Rye House 2015

Funny, I can imagine the phone call If she was taking to the referee at Rye House it would be something like"If you want to be paid don't exclude any Rockets riders" The Supporters Club I couldn't agree more with that. OK, the days of dinner dancers and discos are perhaps a thing of the past, but it could be the start of a trusting relationship between management and supporters. I mean having a raffle draw after heat 1. Alright perhaps that's not quite the case but it should be done during the interval. Currently the 50-50 draw rakes in I would say about £70 a week. I'd prefer to see that money go into a pot for perhaps riders tyres or dop and oil. I don't buy raffle tickets currently coz I don't exactly know where that money actually goes. I'm not saying it goes into non club pockets but it would be nice to actually know.

Hazel has indeed been a loyal servant to Len at both Hackney, Rye House and Kent. But times are changing at Rye House. She has always had a short fuse, perhaps her PR left a lot to be desired, I wonder if her departure means a replacement or will it be Andrew?

    Rye House 2015

I'm being extremely unfair to the seven 2015 Rockets. There is nothing wrong with any of them. I certainly wouldn't have the bottle to do what they do. Just seems to be perhaps a little weak. So, Stummo has decided no more negative posts. I do enjoy my Saturday night visits to Rye, just frustrated at Len. But......the positives. They all know they'll be paid on time. They'll have a freebie skiing and bonding trip A well run club Good supporters at heart And finally they could just prove me wrong and have a good season. Let's hope so!

Seeing the signings Ippo and Peterborough are making, especially Lambert at P'boro perhaps the parade music at Rye should be Lindsay de Paul's "rock bottom"

Fans are fed up with the crap teams Silver has been putting out Shadders. Seeing other clubs teams, they look exciting. My veiws. Kennett isn't a outstanding number one. Garrity will he or won't he turn up and can he be bothered. Nelson I really don't rate, sorry to say. Was he really that good in 2013? Bowen, well a good move to go NL, it may help his form in the PL but I fear not. Boxall, oh dear. Crap bikes and will 2015 be any different? Kasper, well let's hope he improves As for the newbe, a lot is on his shoulders. The team in my veiw depends far to much on every rider improving. The 3 heatleaders, may well be good second strings and that's the worrying thing. Let's hope I totally wrong and they do really well.

Oh dear Len! Another long season and wooden spoon contenders no question. Flabbergasted the old feller thinks this is a league winning team. Or was he thinking of this team as the NL team?

    Rye House 2015

Is Andrew going to be team manager I wonder in the near future. Interesting press release Make It a Date. a Week Earlier! Rye House promoter Len Silver has brought forward the Rockets opening home fixture in 2015 by some seven days in order to help accommodate what is set to be a busy racing programme across both Premier and National League levels. The new date is Saturday, March 21st, with Silver noting, While the opposition is yet to be confirmed at this stage, I can announce that we will be going straight into official League Cup action that night. Looking forward beyond that, and with a view to the clubs application to also join the National League which will be heard at that tiers AGM on December 9th, he adds that We are looking for the Raiders first home League fixture to be on Saturday, May 2nd, with their second as part of a Bank Holiday Monday double header two days later alongside a Rockets match. Talking of the Raiders, Silvers son Andrew a former Rocket and England international is set to take over the running of that side, which is expected to include several promising teenagers recruited from the tracks Sunday Training School. Says Silver Sr., Those actually chosen for the team will be the pick of this winters trainees. and several are already looking good prospects. Andrew will be attending the National League promoters meeting at Rugby on the 9th, and I can tell you he is already looking forward to challenging Eastbourne new boy Martin Dugard a long-time contemporary and racing friend to produce the better team!

    Rye House 2015

Think your a bit harsh on Bunyan. Always been a big track man and certainly slick tracks aren't his cuppa tea. If he don't score points he don't get paid. Having seen his anger at Sheffield for not being included in heat 15 says it all for me. It's a shame coz he isn't a bad rider, but having fallen out with Len (one of many of course) over the Rye track amongst other things you can see why he isn't in the 2015 Rye team. No thanks from Len for his effort this last year and as he was a former skipper speaks volumes for me.

As I thought. Glasgow announce 5 and it makes Rye line up look crap in my oppion!

    Rye House 2015

Danny King would have been a far better number 1 at Rye than Kennett. As Chris says in heats 13 and 15 Kennett didn't impress me against quality number ones either at home or away.

    Rye House 2015

Luke Bowen, goodness gracious me. Tyson Nelson, was he really that good in 2013? The new Dane, big big gamble, Kasper may be a fair reserve, Garrity,, depends on if he really wants to ride for Rye House, Boxall reserve standard in my view, Kennett I'm afraid is not a outstanding number one. Why no young Greenwood? Personally I think it's a rubbish 1-7. It ain't going to get people through the turnstiles, I think my speedway days at Rye are slowely coming to a end. But, we have got the yellow and black helmet colour back, coz the BSPA have listened to fans views.

    Bspa Meeting...

Definitely cost cutting. I can see their new vision. A 13 heat formula with an additional second half (although not compulsory) tac subs after heat 4 when a team are 6 points down, choice of gate positions as well, a one off World Finaj. How radical would that be..../

    Rye House 2015

Latest press release says Rockets Build Towards 2015 The 2015 season may still be a full five months away but preparations are already well underway for the new campaign. Team building work for the new season has been going on quietly, with promoter Len Silver and team manager John Sampford already able to name three proposed starters. The first piece of good news is that former World Cup star and 2014 Mr Rocket rider of the year Edward Kennett will be returning to Hertfordshire for a second straight term, with Cardiff Grand Prix Wildcard Jason Garrity also heading back to Hertfordshire. Silver admits that There are several permutations for the rest of the team, all of which are dependent on a work permit for Tyson Nelson, whose inclusion or otherwise dictates the final seven, subject of course to any changes to team-building limits agreed at this coming weekends BSPA annual conference. The young Aussie was absent from Britain this year due to issues in that regards, leaving a late hole that helped to propel the Rockets towards an unwanted wooden spoon position in the Premier League. The Premier is set to be one of two leagues in which the Hertfordshire club is set to compete in 2015. Subject to final ratification from the council of promoters in Britains third tier, the Rye House Raiders will also be joining the National League. This will not only help to provide a natural next step for young talent coming through the weekly training schools staged at Hoddesdon but ensure a full and regular home meeting schedule through 2015. Talking of which, Bank Holiday Mondays will return as a racing day for the Rockets next season to augment the regular race day of Saturday which has been in place for the last thirteen years. Silver has also announced a number of stadium improvements planned for this winter. The first of these is improved lighting, with Silver admitting that The installation of the air fence has resulted in some dark patches on the circuit, so a number of our floodlight lampposts are being moved nearer to the track in the corners. The first of the posts were taken out this past week and it has demonstrated that the job is quite massive and will take a number of weeks to complete. Some of the steep track banking has also been removed - although you wouldn't notice it to look at it!

    Lakeside 2015

Bridger, no great loss. He needed a mentor and to be ultra professional like Tia Woffinden or Nicki Pedersen Unfortunately for soeedway he thought he could party and still be world class,
  21. A half hearted apology from Horton to say the least during the interval. That should have been while the mess was being sorted out. Look, Horton is the promoter. Surely to god on his arrival the first thing you do is check the track, especially with what's gone on this year. For visiting officials to highlight the problem is pathetic! I'm sorry but as I have said the blame is quite simply the host promoter. If as suggested Horton is behind Milton Keynes revival god help us.
  22. Mick Horton and his side kick Lawrence Rogers. just stood at the 3rd bend and watched Len Silver and Chris Louis organise track prep. Horton was the host promoter and he should take full responsibility. How come he didn't check the track on his arrival and it was other people who noticed the problem on the 3rd bend? Programme inserts sold out by 1:50pm and the programme itself a few minutes later. £2:50 for the programme was way over the top. Horton I'm sorry to say must take the blame. Just as he should when he ran Oxford, Mildenhall, Peterborough. Always somebody else's fault. He takes the fans for granted, as do other promoters I'm afraid. I for one am won't return to Coventry, no big loss your probably thinking. But I'm not the only one. When people who live a stones throw from the track and they don't bother because of the way it's run says it all. Charles Ocltree would be turning in his grave if he saw the clown that runs Coventry now.
  23. Season ticket holders have to pay! That's discusting.
  24. Heard some unbelievable rumours regarding Rye House’s future last night at the track. There is, as they say, no smoke without fire, lets hope in this case its rubbish what was being said. Sunday’s will be the race day in 2015, 6pm starts and that’ll be it, no more speedway in 2016, finito to speedway thereafter. 6pm on a Sunday will be a few of the few left from coming i recon. Surely this can’t have any possible truth in it, can it? I’ve heard rumours suggesting the kart track people had agreed a deal with the speedway circuit to do what exactly I don’t know. Perhaps this would explain why the place is being run down. I think it certainly needs a statement from the club. Or will this be Len being stubborn saying if I don’t run Rye House no one does and I’ll take it with me to my grave?
  25. Funny sport speedway. Rockets hammer Peterborough, Peterborough beat Edinburgh with out two much trouble and Edinburgh thrash Rye House. "It's a funny old game" as Jimmy Greaves would say!
