LIONS v BIRMINGHAM 25/4/24
W9 Lion replied to justathought's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
YR - it got it spot on last week. Rather than it may rain its forecasts the amount of rain and today at less tham 1mm it equates to Andy doing 4 laps less with water bowser. Those people that went by the BBC/Met Office forcast last week and stayed away missed the best meeting of the season so far. -

Depends where you look. YR forecast 0.4mm of rain this morning and 0.5mm of rain this afternoon and a dry evening. If this is the case you are still likely to see Andy and the water bowser this evening. -
According to met check 0.5mm of rain over two hours. So that saves the club 4 laps of diesel as Andy put more than that down over four laps with the bowser.

Birmingham v Leicester 15th April 2024

He looked totally uninterested in the meeting at Leicester. -
Always has started seasons like this.

1. Always open for a guest booking - Start Marshals should receive training from the CofC and as a licenced official will have a copy of the rule book. 2. Leicester also provide the Cubs with a grippy track and I am always fearful at the start of Heat 2 the first time the away reserves drop the clutch.

No they go off 15m -
The water was brushed away a number of time throughout the day. The enterence to the stadium is lower than the land around it so once brushed or even pumped away water leaches out of the soil and returns to the lowest point.

Hi Iain,
What do you think of the clubs new branding etc?

No, its a public response to clarify the clubs position.

No. -
Dave I was sorry to hear about your condition that means you "are not sure how long I can stand for when needed, maybe 5 mins or 30 mins" as per your message to the General Manager on 7th March 2024. Being able to stand for a long time is a key atribute of a safety steward. As you put it later in the same message "I'm giving you a get out quick clause I won't complain if I don't get a job". Could we please hold you to your latter statement?

Here you go Rob. This is how the track looked at 3pm on Saturday afternoon when i left. -
As an alternative you could always stream the meetings on Lions TV

May I helpfully suggest Leicester is closer and all Panthers fans would be made most welcome.

Your original post was that we had heard nothing which as they previous couple of posts have pointed out is not the case.

Err, announcements have been made, http://www.leicesterspeedway.com/news.php?extend.32433 LEICESTER will switch to Sunday afternoon racing for their home fixtures in the National Development League this season. Fixtures for the third tier are currently in the process of being finalised, but the club can confirm the Lion Cubs have scheduled matches at the Pidcock Motorcycles Arena, Beaumont Park for Sundays at 3pm. The move has been made in order to provide maximum rider availability both for the Cubs and their opponents bearing in mind Championship commitments. Skipper Joe Thompson has a Championship team place with Plymouth, who will be racing at home predominantly on Saturday evenings, and Max James is racing for Edinburgh who have various Saturday away matches. Another key reason for the switch is that it opens up greater opportunities to make use of the new mini-track for second half events featuring 250cc and 125cc riders, which would otherwise be constrained by time on a Saturday evening. Leicester’s first home NDL fixture of the season is expected to take place at the Pidcock Motorcycles Arena, Beaumont Park on Sunday April 7 (3pm). The club will also be staging a round of the new National League Riders Development Series individual competition. This will take place on Sunday August 4 (3pm).

Leicester’s new training track

Should make the play offs. I dont think there will be many away wins in the League, except when the top teams go to Birmingham. Therefore it comes down to bonus points and our solid team are well equiped to pick up the bonus point over home and away legs. Once in the playoffs I think we will give a good account of ourselves.

LEICESTER supporters again have the chance to show their support for the Lion Cubs – with your name on a team race-suit! Last year’s successful initiative is being repeated, and for just £30 you can have your name incorporated into the 2024 race-suit of a Cubs rider, to be worn each time the team takes to the track. The 2024 package includes: *Your name on a 2024 Lion Cubs race-suit as part of a collage; *Entry into a draw to win a rider’s suit at the end of the season; *A signed photo of the rider whose suit your name appears on; *A thank-you in the 2024 Lion Cubs programmes acknowledging your individual support of a rider. It’s really easy to get involved – just e-mail John Harvey at john.harvey@leicesterspeedway.com
