6.8 left for the two reserves, plus anything from a Brit reduction if Ellis qualifies? So that’s Ellis Perks in the main body, and a couple of 3ish pointers at reserve. That’s crazy IMO.
-
That would be a barmy decision IMO. Both of those have more improvement in their averages than any of the heatleader trio Swindon have just signed. Providing the Pole was up for a return, those two should have been the first names on the team sheet after securing Doyle.
-
Crikey I wasn’t expecting all three of the Swindon heatleaders to return! Not sure that’s the right strategy myself but I’ll hold fire until the full septet is announced. Surely Adam Ellis will be retained too? Going to need to pull a couple of big improvers out of the hat at the bottom end.

No chance surely?

Cameron Heeps and Tom Bacon sign.

King's Lynn Stars 2020
Arch Stanton replied to Daniel Smith's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
No, it was the sale of the club, NOT a “buyback”. Chapman isn’t, and never was the owner of Ipswich Witches and probably now never will be now he’s no longer chair of the BSPA. I suggest you also read this weeks Speedway Star and the part titled “Stepping down”, in which the article starts with “Kings Lynn and Peterborough owner Keith Chapman”. -

You’re wrong, Chapman has never owned Ipswich. That may have initially been the intention, but it never materialised. -

What part is nonsense? The Ipswich part certainly isn’t. Chapman isn’t the owner of Ipswich, Chris Louis said so himself a few weeks back. -
Doyle returns.

We desperately need Iversen to go with those 4. Can’t see anyone else on a 7-8 point average better than him that we’re going to need.

Peterborough Panthers 2020
Arch Stanton replied to bigcatdiary's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
Buster already made a loss last year apparently, he simply has to put together a decent side this year otherwise it would be a financial disaster. For that reason alone I think the Panthers will be competitive this time around. -
Genuine this time, no hoax!

Without a shadow of doubt.

5.56 isn’t a difficult number to fit in so if Allen doesn’t return it almost certainly won’t be because of “the numbers game”. Maybe numbers as in £££ but not as in averages.

I was responding to Bagpuss on his point that Lynn would prioritise Lambert, Cook and Riss over Iversen, more than where Iversen would prefer to go. On your point, if it comes down to the choice of the rider then yes I think he’d choose Lynn over us if Lynn were an option for him. Always seemed very settled and happy at Lynn to me.
-
Madness IMO. I like both Cook and Riss they’re very capable riders, but Iversen surely gets in over either of those two? A heatleader trio of Lambert, Iversen and Cook would be the strongest in the league bar none. If Iversen decides to do a full season here and Lynn turn their noses up then I’d be both surprised and delighted if it meant he came back to Foxhall.

The 24-year-old has been impressed with the professional set up at Ipswich and said he wants to remain with the club in 2020. “Compared to every other club I have dealt with during my time In England for a couple of years they are very professional. They want you to do well as much as you want to do well. There has never been a problem if I have asked for advice or help. It was a good for me to go to a new club and I am glad it was Ipswich. I have really enjoyed my time here and hopefully if all goes to plan, I will be here next year and for years after that.” Yes I know what people say and yes, this time of year riders do trot out the “I’d like to stay” line when pushed, but his comments from only a few weeks ago go above and beyond the standard line IMO. I’d be very very surprised if he goes elsewhere but let’s see, money does talk loudest after all.

Nah. Once you become a member of the Ipswich golf club then your place in the Speedway team is guaranteed

Agree to an extent, he WAS disappointing if truth be told but on the other hand, we know he’s a quality rider and what he’s capable of. Maybe a full season and starting from the beginning we’d see the rider we all know? He also has an attractive average for a rider of his pedigree that he’d surely increase. We simply can’t go in to next season with Klindt and King as our heatleader duo, that has disaster written all over it. We’re gonna need another top end rider from somewhere and I personally think we’d be mad to turn Iversen down on an average over just over 7.

Would be very surprised if Iversen returns to Ipswich

Thoughts and prayers with Steve Shovlar at this difficult time.

The BSPA press release is on Friday. It’s Wednesday to Friday this year, rather than the usual Friday to Sunday.
