i agree with baldyman the sport in general is in a mess and although i am likely to get slated for saying this i would welcome a drop into the premier league as their house seems to be slightly more in order and the varation of teams and a reduction of costs is a welcome. I supported chris for his decision to change the track and if his commitment to the witches was ever in question then why would they have spent money doing this. I admit i stayed away from halfway in as i was just so fed up with the same teams every other week and most of team either missing or off the pace. This option has to be worth a try and a chance to re-group and take stock and improve and use our asset base. Not seeing Scott race every week is a price i would be willing to pay if it gives us a competitive team and better racing.
  2. regardless of where it was last night was a great night for british speedway seeing happy faces walking out of a stadium which was packed going to work the next day telling people about what they saw can only be good news. kings lynn is tucked away and not that easy to get to but the show was promoted right at the right price. I havent been there since the late 80's but if the track produces that sort of racing every week i would welcome a return visit next easter to watch a stars witches derby meeting. credit to the kings lynn promotion apart from the parking in the field opposite (which was free by the way unlike peterborough last year!)which took a age to get out of i enjoyed it.
  3. can anyone help me?? billy was one of my 1st heros of speedway. i was talking to me dad a few weeks ago remembering days gone by and got talking about bill. i remember a incident where he got bumped off going down the back straight by someone and he jumped up and got hold of a rake from one of trackstaff and stood ready to take off the culprits head when he came back round before being held back by others. can anyone else recall the incident and put a name to the offending rider??? i for one am pleased that the meeting is happening and that a competetive field is arranged to honour bill's memory and after seeing crumpie ride saturday cant wait for his race against scottie on the new foxhall track. BRING IT ON!
