I will certainly be attending again,I lost interest in the "Elite" and I started a thread in the discussions page about possibly returning to PL again, even if they are granted riders like KK on a free loan, who is going to pay his wages if they can't afford Nicholls?? discussions post: After some extremely dissapointing numbers in recent weeks a very healthy crowd turned out for the Newcastle meeting even with many feeling the result would be a forgone conclusion.Newcastle did put up some fight with some close races although fielding a fairly young and inexperienced side (Robbo aside) and were maybe a tad below full strength but on their home track it was always going to go Ipswich's way After another EL season of Speedway one week and not the next or even the next and a limited amount of visiting teams, many using R/R and repetitive guests (Shlein??) could Racing every week with new teams be the shot in the arm that Ipswich need if an application to go PL were to be accepted? Scott wouldn't obviously not figure in PL plans and other tweaks would be needed, most likely British lads in the lower order would be a good thing given the current state of the National squad So if numbers were like this each week with vastly reduced outcome and a profit made each week is this the way forward?the numbers certainly speak volumes, new visitors,a pretty unanimous expected result, some fairly inexperienced opposition, the end of the season,a chilly night and yet a very good crowd, what does it say for next year? ThePl is the breeding ground for new talent and the racing is good, there will always be the "Elite always" crowd even if it's nowhere near what it was but serious food for thought now? I know I'm not alone, in speaking to many freinds who havnt attended the last season or two, they say they'd return if it went PL as they'd be sure to track a way more sucessful team than they have at EL level.I think Ipswich on average are down to a hardcore of supporters so I wouldn't expect to see a drop in numbers either It's all rosy if you can watch Poole every week, winning for fun, seeing a rare visiting GP rider although a lot of cannon fodder at the back and new imports that are unknown i suppose,if that's what you like ps what's "Mickthemuppet"s take on this?

Pawlicki And His Average Manipulation

Kenneth sounds good,4 British riders too,I think there should be a bigger reduction for British riders too, maybe as Poole have an adverse reaction to British riders then maybe Shovar will try a one man crusade against that, just like he is on this matter? More water and biscuits Lapdog? -

Mr Shovel-it ,It's painfully obvious to see it's been done plenty of times before, its not against the rules so why don't you put down the crackpipe, finally get some help to remove that blue anorak you've had on since mid-march, seek some counselling and try to get on with your life, three words sum this thread up,Dead,,Horse and Flog.. -

Swings and roundabouts,we might hear yet more of your bleating if things dont go your way again, Is it me or is there something about this thread that reminds anyone of when you get one of those sticky bogeys that you think you've got rid of only for it to appear again somewhere else -
Pawlicki And His Average Manipulation
Gearhead replied to Steve Shovlar's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
Yes indeed, they are the rules to abide by just as Coventry did, wheneverthere are rules there are loopholes, maybe Coventry's tactics came good, maybe Pawliki ruled himself out of riding in England through fear of the risk of his injury hampering him,(Germany is much closer and he wouldnt let him team down) maybe Coventry didn't want to take the chance on him, maybe he earned very well out of that meeting in Germany, maybe Poole were terrible, oh wait they were and got thrashed by a team that played by the rules..... .....that the Elite league Promotors agreed -

Don't Ipswich operate the turnstiles? They run the event too not the BSPA as they do the track, presentation, provide the trackstaff, the pitstaff, etc etc and also do all the press releasees etc, pity for the fans sake they didn't update the line up early enough as people could've made a decision to boycott the event.sure the BSPA set the price etc and count the cash in the office after the meeting -

Twenty quid!!!!! I'm glad I havn't been since the Briggo balls up and don't intend to either, sounds like obtaining money under false pretenses! It doesn't say a lot about Ipswich Speedway if the BSPA took over the show eh? The track hasn't done much for the racing either, about the same as last year I'd say but yes the presentation used to be so much better with Kevin Long -

They're not interested, saved probably 20 quid on the presenter and It's dross, they don't promote at all,Louis jnr has set up an engine tuning business and doing as much as he can to get on Sky,what the point of him being at lakeside last night was I don't know, they seem happy to leave the promoting if any and club running to fans who do it for free while Louis snr is content to have a drink up at the bar while the team are ending the meeting getting a beating! Did anyone find themselves in the situation coming through the turnstiles? Apparently there were officials badgering people for proof of payment,my friendscwife actually got physically pulled back to check she had her ticket! They certainly made sure they were getting their cash, albeit under false pretence I wonder if the line up was known to people before they entered, would many have turned and gone home? , -
Yeah spot on,this ref can't seem to get through a GP without making at least one ridiculous descision,he isn't up to the job Gollob definateley took Holta down, just like he did Emil but to a lesser extent but well done Bomber,he proved that he can be World class Great result for Crumpie too,it's made the Chanpionship much closer,I hope he can make up more ground so we don't have a Polish Champion

Sgp Challenge Final
Gearhead replied to ladyluck's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
Yep,unlucky, that's the way it goes,I'm just glad we didn't see yet another Pole in the GP's -
We can hope all we want, but i think he's far too arrogant to do that, especially to a "kid" like Emil
-
Eerr I think you've got the wrong end of the stick,I wasn't after Gollob's stats,or Hampel's or Holta, you clearly have more badges on your anorak and more Lech scarves and badly fitting caps than me Gollob is a one off but look at how Polish Speedway has come on since the SGP series began, money seems to talk a whole lot, maybe more so between the BSI and some Polish clubs, maybe we'll see a Polish wildcard next year? I'm willing to bet the whole world cup will be held there sooner or later if they decide to start to run it that way, they are guaranteed to get it first anyway, aaahh take half the GP's as well while you're at it..,
-
We don't want it all. It's all about the money though, BSI are happy having 3 GP's in Poland cause Polish organisers pay them a lot for the rights to organise GP's in their cities. Stop moaning and blaming Poland for everything then. Blame British promotors, some of your riders' attitude and their lack of professionalism instead. Britain had many individual world champions in the past, it's time for Poland to catch up a bit with the statistics now You got that correct,It's all about money, and who knows where it will end up,also I do blame the British promoters for the shambles that we have at some tracks, promoters don't seem to promote anymore
-
Well at least you got a winner last night, even if he was a fake,3 GP'S in Poland looks like the BSI are doing very nicely out of the SGP series along with Poland, and yes a Polish champ will benefit Poland even more you'll soon have it all,we'll see what happens next year, the British riders should be given more chances in their own leagues instead of foreign imports, regardless of a Brit in the GP'S next year or not,it's all nicely geared elsewhere I too think Gollob is a great rider but has no respect for anyone, even the TV that help pay his wages and help his sponsors, looks like he has the title but I'm another who hopes he doesn't
-
I agree, should of thrown him out of the meeting, about time the referees should grow some balls, how many times have we seen Gollob make similar moves and get away with it? He actually could of backed off (questionable of avoiding a crash of some degree) if you see where his picks up that drive,he tries to ride it out as you see his leg go forward to try to keep the front wheel lifting more,a trademark Gollob move,as he does with gating (from studying Hans!) So he definitely could've done something about it,he is riding so well this year but his weakest point is that when the adrenaline is flowing he does make these kind of moves (usually getting away with it) I thought he'd get a lot more stick to be honest, not apart from Louis obviously,(notice he never wants to upset anyone, his butt must be sore from sitting on that fence so much) the suck-up,(he'll have to do a lot more by the way to finally nail that permanent Sky job) Shame it wasn't his wrist that was broken and not Emil I say Oh well, finally a Polish Champion on the cards I fear,4 GP'S in Poland next year I suppose, maybe another Polish wild card in too? Oh and let's have a few more here too (and people wonder why we have a lack of British lads coming through?) Rant over Actually no,the whole Sky red button thing was a shambles and we have to pay for it!
