    Pete Seaton

Dreadfully sorry to hear this news. For a number of years, Pete was an attendee at the Sunderland Speedway Reunions. My sincere condolences to his family and friends May he rest in peace. +

Keeping fine thanks Triple H. I hope you are fit and well too.

    if you could vote

To answer the question posed in the OP. Biden for me. The other fella is a congenital idiot.
  4. The White Knight

Briggs, Fundin, Mauger , Crump, Rickardsson, Roll of honour.

Interesting set of figures those Sid. They really were great Riders, weren't they? Good Post.

    Meadowbank

Great Film this. Takes me back to the 'good old days' of Speedway.
  6. The White Knight

    Newcastle.

    Let's hope not steve.

    Wally Loak

I had a tape of Wally Loake doing the 1972 World Final at Wembley. I don't know what happened as regards Wally - or the Tape for that matter.

    Taking the knee

Michael Holding (Cricketer) did a terrific job talking about diversity on SKY recently, he was superb. For me though, Taking the Knee - definitely not. I would not kneel as I think it should be down to personal choice. Having said that though - I totally agree with Bruno - I doubt if I would be able to get up again without help.

    Alan Wilkinson

I was so sorry to hear this news. I did not know Alan, but what a great Rider he was. My condolences to his family and friends. R.I.P. + Alan.

    Coventry Drone

How desperately sad and depressing. Such a shame. Camera work and drone operation are very good though. I hope the Speedway can be resurrected - if not - thanks for the memories.

    Are YOU missing British Speedway?

To answer the question posed by the OP: No, not really. However, I do hope that there can be some Speedway this year for the sake of all those Supporters out there who, like me, in those days years ago, were desperate for some action.

DANNY AYRES BIKE FOUND AND RETURNED

I totally agree Steve. Great News!!!

Two Legends World Final records. Fundin v Briggs.

I'm afraid I have never forgiven Persson for that. As I said earlier, I may be wrong about his move but I don't believe I am. Sorry to disagree with you on this sid.

Two Legends World Final records. Fundin v Briggs.

Hi sid The only thing I would argue within your post is the fact that 'Briggo' did NOT fall in 1972. He was T-Boned by Bernt Persson in what I thought to be a very questionable move. I was at that Final at Wembley and I may be wrong but it would take a lot to convince me otherwise. Both great Riders, but I reckon that 'Briggo' would have gone on to win the title in 1972, remember - he had already beaten Mauger the eventual winner, had he been able to continue to ride in the Meeting. Of course, none of this can be proved and is mere conjecture - but in all the years since 1972 I have believed 'Briggo' was robbed of a fifth World Title.

Thanks norbold - I will do so.

    West Country Gazette

Actually - I enjoyed the whole of the programme. Great stuff!!! Is it a regular feature - I never got a series link on SKY 'Q'.

    West Country Gazette

I watched this Programme with interest. I too believe it is Grasstrack - but very interesting none the less. Thanks for the 'heads up' norbold.

    West Country Gazette

I fully intend watching this. I have it set to record. Thank you very much for Posting this norbold.

    Best Race Jackets 1964-65.

I still think the 1964 Sunderland 'Saints' Jacket was one of the best. But then I would - wouldn't I?

    Behind closed doors?

A very interesting Post with some good ideas. I certainly would not tear your Post apart.
  21. The White Knight

    Why is it?

I don't think there was any conspiracy as far as Jerzy Szczakiel was concerned - Mauger fell off thus gifting the Title to Jerzy. A Track accident, that is all in my humble opinion.

I have updated my Post for both the inclusion of Sunderland, and the years to the best of my memory which is not great these days. Thank you RB for your input - it is much appreciated.

Vote For Your Top 10 1970s Race Jackets/Bibs

I thought we were not supposed to include our own Team. Sunderland 'Stars' 1971/72 and 'Saints' 1964 were my all time favourites.
